In der Therme fehlte das Frigidarium - ein kleines Kaltwasserbecken nach Dampfbad oder Sauna.

Die Lage ist ideal um Matera zu Fuß zu erkunden! Alles ist gut zu erreichen. Das Zimmer war geräumig und sehr sauber! Das Frühstücksbuffet war üppig und das Personal durchgängig zuvorkommend und freundlich! Der Shuttleservice zur Parkgarage hat super funktioniert! Der Aufenthalt insgesamt hat uns sehr gut gefallen!

Scenic views, unique experience. Breakfast had a nice selection of breads, fruits, meats, cheeses and pastries in a very enjoyable setting. Staff at breakfast were attentive and cordial. Many restaurant selections within a short, but hilly walk. In particular we enjoyed our meal and view from Il Terrazzino Ristorante and the tour of the artifacts in its basement.

While we were happy to visit Matera, our stay at the Locanda Di San Martino hotel was a disappointment and not worth what we paid. We typically are not ones to complain. However, our experience at this hotel warrants criticism. Staff could be friendlier. The clerk on check in was not very welcoming. Although a porter was in the lobby standing next to our luggage, he did not help us take luggage to our room. The heat was on in the room despite it being high 70s outside. The room was very hot, 83 degrees F (28.4 Celsius). Even with windows open all night, sleep was very uncomfortable. We couldn’t shut the heat off ourselves even though daytime temperatures ranged from high 70s to low 80s — in April. Although the hotel’s website lists air conditioning as an amenity, the fact is air conditioning could not be turned on and we could not control the room temperature at in the room ourselves at all. Maintenance staff, who were cordial and apologetic, came multiple times and even they could not help cool room to a more tolerable temperature. The first front desk clerk my husband spoke with about the temperature in the room was rude, unprofessional, and curtly said to him — well, if you don’t like it you could leave — this occurred around 11pm at night, after a long day of travel. It took much persistence on our part to get concerns addressed and finally, the second night, after much aggravation the staff offered to move us to a different room nearby — from room 10 to room 6. Temperature in room 6 was tolerable at 76 degrees F (24.4 Celsius), bath/shower was nicer than room 10, however debris from ceiling mortar was fell off just outside shower stall above toilet when we showered. Unpleasant stay for these reasons.

Posizione eccellente, ambiente ben curato, camera ampia e confortevole. Colazione con ampio assortimento, personale cordiale e accogliente. Le Terme una vera chicca, ambienti puliti e ottima organizzazione per evitare sovrannumero. Consiglio vivamente questa struttura.

La possibilità di regolare la temperatura in camera. Era un po’ troppo riscaldata.

Un meraviglioso viaggio per il mio compleanno, non potevamo scegliere un posto più bello. Le stanze bellissime, la colazione abbondante e varia di alta qualità per non parlare della splendida SPA con un sogno di piscina riscaldata in grotta. Un’esperienza entusiasmante, assolutamente da ripetere e da consigliare!!!!!!

The place is stunning and central. Real authentic feel. Very good breakfast.

The beautiful pool advertised comes at a hidden, extra cost of €25 per person and they would not even let us see the spa for us to assess if it was worth paying. The parking also comes at an extra cost of €20 per day.

The hotel is located in the old town itself. If you want to feel like an actual resident and enjoy the views of the ancient city, I recommend choosing this hotel. I liked the authentic rooms. The one-bedroom is not big for one traveler, but it really leaves the room. The cleanliness and smell in the room are ideal. The service is excellent. I liked the Spa.

You must carry your luggage to the hotel through stone streets and stairs or take a taxi service. The hotel warns about this. But the images around redeem everything! Breakfast was qualitative, but the choice could be wider.

View if the old city , the roman thermae, is something you must enyoj!

This place was very unique. The cave rooms were so beautiful and they have taken all the necessary steps to make it comfortable, including having a dehumidifier in the room as they would be very damp otherwise. The spa area at the hotel was much better than I expected, it was well worth the money to go for a few hours and swim, sauna, steam and drink tea. We had such an amazing time in Matera and would come back here again and again.

Had to park quite far away and climb a lot of stairs with luggage. So pack light if visiting here!

I can't really comment on the property since we were never given an opportunity to check in. However, the description of the apartment doesn't correspond to the real property. It's not a 2 bedroom apartment. It's 2 different apartments, which couldn't work for us with small kids. We were informed of the situation by the owner rep one day before check in when cancelation was not a possibility. Also the check in policy is very unclear. The website mentions, the checkin is possible for free until 8 PM and for extra 15 Euros till midnight. However, the owner refused to let us in any time after 19:50.

Staff were friendly.

Room is very small and AC is barely noticeable during hot July summer days. Spa costs additional to access and closes at 730PM when sunset is at 845PM Lots of stairs to climb in Matera in general and this hotel is located at lower levels. So, it might be harsh for people with heavy/many luggages.

Dependence room is amazing, a real cave but very comfortable. Little bit far from the main hotel building but the walk through Matera Sassi is worth that. Great breakfast.

It ticked all the boxes! Incredible room, view, service, spa facilities and daily breakfast! I've been raving about this place ever since we left, wish we stayed for longer than just one night. A very special memory we'll never forget! I surprised my sister with the cave spa experience, it was incredible and at one point we had the whole place to ourselves. The staff were very friendly, spoke good English and the breakfast exceeded our expectations with local and regional specialities to try.

Thermal baths were lovely. Transfer to and from the Damascus garage ran smoothly.

Choice of fruits and pastries was limited. Lighting in room was not very good.
