Definitely the friendly staff, which was doing their best to solve the issues we faced during our stay.
We booked 2 rooms. In one of the rooms the CA was broken, the room too shabby, definitely overpriced for this quality. The hotel is huge and has ca. 10 chairs at the pool and the beach. One has to "fight" for a chair. We were told first come, first serve, and it is not possible to reserve the chairs in advance. So we followed this advice and left our belongings early in the morning on the chair. When we came the belongings were not there and other people on the chairs. Afrer some research, we could find out that the security threw away our belongings, even though they saw us leaving our sfuff on the chair. And later on we found out that apparently one can reserve the chairs in advance....
This was a very unpleasant experience. Is deffinitely not 5 star hotel.

If you want to be in Sanur then the location is good. Spa treatments were wonderful. house keeping staff were wonderful.
Extremely poor service for a high end hotel in Bali. IHG seems to not care about the quality of service under its brand here. Management level staff are incompetant and have poor training and skills. I spent over AUD$3000 in 5 days and was treated like absolute shit. Theres a distinct disconnect between the image of the property and the service you recieve. Was at the near by Hyatt the week before this and the service was 100 times better. The inability of them to be able to take a credit card for incidental payments and then harrass the guests over small incidental charges is not in fitting with the style of hotel. I would not recommend this hotel. Elements of a room service delivery were left at the door of the room for over three days even after reminding the management the item was still at the door. Uncessary contacts made by hotel staff using contact details left at recption. Was unable tog et a response from mangement over three days. 8 calls to the 24 hour service number explicity given by the hotel went unanswered and similar text messages to the 24 hour service number they provided went unaswered. Assistant Front Office Manager claimed this was because there was no phone reception however the system showed the calls and texts were recieved just unanswered. Same manager caimed there was no response for three days because was in a meeting (for 72 hours straight...) Disingenous and disappointing. Restaurant was closed for repairs, which is fine as this happens, but to not make people aware BEFORE check in then that is disingenous. COuld easily be infomration added at the time of booking on here. Unable to get a hot coffee - coffee served cold. Unable to get a coffee at all one morning, asked to get my own told not possible. Over 35 minutes to get a coffee, even though multiple others were served inbetween. the standard of service was more fitting of a $50 a nght hotel.

Location was excellent, rooms were fantastic, staff were very accommodating and friendly. Breakfasts were delicious with great variety.
Linen was old and needed an upgrade, rooms felt damp, no hooks for towels, no face washers provided.

Second time returning, breakfast has a good variety but most of em either too sweet or salty for me and family .

The location is perfect. Very clean and nice staff. Breakfast was fantastic.
I had booked a room for three (2 adults and 1 child - 14 years old ) but they gave me for two and refused to provide sheets and pillow for the third person.

The suite was great. really big lounge area, great bedroom, bathroom big and the massage room was used as a dressing room and helped give us some extra space. we didn’t use the outdoor terrace but it was huge.
the kids room is good, the pool is nice.
the staff were nice but very poorly trained. very few of them knew what they were doing. it seems like the supervisors and management are well trained but the staff are all daily workers and not at all trained.
we booked a ‘romantic meal’ and for $200 usd they were offering us a meal on a table next to the public path that we could just sit at if we ate in the restaurant for no extra cost.
the $100 brunch was about as good as their buffet breakfast (which is so-so compared to similar hotels) and we felt ripped off given that their marketing presented it as a ‘Luxury’ brunch. all of the products (meat especially) are the cheapest type available and you would find similar in a 3 star hotel or low quality cafe.

There was a little confusion at Pier 8 restaurant about the open hours and Drink Menu…Everything else was perfect.

Super friendly helpful staff, great room and excellent breakfast.
The main pool does not have enough shaded areas we were unable to stay there opting to sit in the children’s pool area which was well shaded and much more comfortable.

Beautiful and peaceful stay at the Intercontinental. Right on the beach, with a pool overlooking. Sensational buffet breakfast, comfortable beds and refreshing air conditioning. Lovely ponds and gardens.
A little south if the main shopping area, but I like walking so I didn’t mind (about a 30 minute walk). The beach walk is beautiful with little restaurants and shops along the way. It would be helpful if the hotel offered a free shuttle service to the main shopping area, for those days when you don’t feel like walking.

Most of staff (aside from reception) we’re very helpful and nice. Location is good to check out other local restaurants on the Sanur beach front strip.
Some of the cupboards in our room where dusty/grubby and a bit gross. Door to room was difficult to shut and didn’t make me feel safe. Pool area looks out onto a fake grass roof and a questionable pink flower statue. Many of the sun beds were ripped or grubby. Gardens and walkways were not up kept that well. Everything lacked love and care and wasn’t up to the standard I’d expect from an intercon.

Minor building work going on but you are given 2 free drinks by way of compensation (between 5 and 7pm) - didn’t really detract from a great 3 night stay

The bedroom is big. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. Especially Mr. Cahya and another staff who came to our bedroom to take care of the rat in the middle of the night. Mr. Cahya is also very thoughtful when we were rush to go to Nusa Penida in the morning by preparing breakfast that we can take.
There was a rat in our bedroom when we were sleeping at about 12 pm and we couldn’t sleep until 2 am. The restaurant we had our breakfast has no good view. The garden is very messy. The toilet in the lobby is very dirty.

not a 5 star experience, loads of work going on, and probably will be for quite some time. pool villa was very run down, and not up to to $560 aud standard, paid per night. no intercontinental club, no evening canapés, two weak cocktails per person of an evening. very very poor!! we were over all very underwhelmed! nothing like other international properties we have Stayed.
grounds were not up to standard, obviously there are not enough garden staff to keep on top of it. we stayed in 4 different hotels during our month in Bali, this was by for the worst one.
