This older property had a lot of character! The owners had placed many interesting antiques, pictures, artifacts throughout the common areas. Restaurant and bar were great. Separate breakfast room with good choices. Ceiling fans and refrigerators in the rooms. Located adjacent to University of CR.

Shower was inoperable. Towels were thin and scratchy. Room was small with no comfortable chairs, no deck or patio, no view--and just not as clean as we would have liked. Bugs and ants on the walls and floor. Property was located just off the freeway in a very busy area.

The location was great. The facilities were very nice.

with coffee such a hallmark product of Costa Rica we were surprised to not have it offered in rooms . a bath rug in shower will make it safer for possible falls - at times we experienced it to be quite slippery.

There's a restaurant in the property with fantastic food. The hotel has its own style, a piece of art in itself; and is set in the same land where the university of Costa Rica is, which gives a privileged position to the place. The owners couple are wonderful people.

Great service, breakfast, and place to stay. Everyone was friendly and the room was comfortable with amenities to make daily life easy. Aside from the roadwork the location is fantastic and quiet as well! And it felt very secure and safe being there.

Just unfortunate that there is a lot of roadwork going on just outside the entrance currently (August 2021). This is not the fault of the hotel though.

I highly recommend this property. I especially liked all of the antiques and artwork throughout the property which was extremely well maintained. We had to have a early checkout to get underway with our travel, so the owner made a very good breakfast for us. In addition, there are (2) separate restaurants that are on the property that serve incredible food, so we had everything we needed right on site!

I liked leaving this hotel 2 days early to go to a much better one for less money

Tiny room, smelled like a toilet. Shower was cold the first night. Towels are thin, small and rough as sandpaper. Breakfast was burnt. Advertised as having a gym but they had it padlocked and looking through the windows it was filthy anyway.
