Place and decoration

Another absolute gem of a place with a wonderful history. The building dates from 1847 and was the first building in what has since developed into a very nice town, and the hotel is still furnished in period furnishings. It is a very short walk to the town centre, and the market is not too far away and within easy walking distance. The restaurant serves an excellent denne menu lunch on weekdays, and has an extensive normal menu for other meals. The staff are all wonderful and very helpful.

The hotel had a very welcoming, cosy and like-home atmosphere. The hosts were very helpful and informative. Food was homemade and delicious.

Great location. Good value.

Baby cot was without a mattress, and it was hard to sleep in it. You have to late too long in the restaurant, which is also inconvenient with young kids.

I liked the food and the room.

I doesn't like that I could hear the music from the bar.
