the road to the property is not east to locate when if you don’t get a ride organized by the host.

The area isn’t the safest at night but it has got a f nice around the property so it was all right. The staff is very nice and helpful. They made delicious dinner for our whole group for only 4$ per person.

could use a little repairing as my bed ladder was a bit broken.

Very close to the airport and very cheap. breakfast is fine, the hostess took care for everything we needed.I had the whole dormitory to myself which was great. This place feels like home, everyone there is friendly and makes you really comfortable !! Thanks so much

There was a misunderstanding in the payment and the hostess wanted to take more eventually we solved it. no hot water at all.

We booked a private room with private bathroom and when we arrived at 4am after long flight, they told us private room was not available.only shared room was available. So we had to say yes. Later on, we had anyways to pay almost the same amount of money for the shared room. Only 4$ reduction

10 mins to the airport, clean, and the family is very nice and helpful. Yummy dinner and breakfast. It’s ok according with what you pay for the room.

I personally had a bittersweet experience since I have phobia of cats and they have a bunch of them. They would come into the house and common areas, so I just stayed in my room. In my opinion, it should be written somewhere in the description of the hostel.

Dinner cooked by the family was delicious, and I was the only guest at the time so it was very comfortable. I had the whole dormitory to myself which was great. The surrounding neighborhood is safe and I took a walk around by myself. Although you will get many stares and people talking to you if you look like a foreigner, it’s all friendly. I was able to walk from the airport to the house!

Interactions with the family were a bit awkward at times but they were very kind and helpful. and the fee for the taxi was a bit higher than what you’d normally pay for a Bolt, but apparently Bolts have a hard time finding the house. Also there is no hot running water but I was given hot water to use while I showered, so it was no problem.

- cheap - near to airport - food was good - moskito nets have no holes - pretty clean; although we had the feeling its because there have not been many guests lately

- bathroom doors werent able to be closed - no seat on the toilet - some beds dont have functioning moskito nets installed; its dry season, but there are still lots of them. Dont want to be there in wet season.. - room was 6 bed room instead of 4 bed room; just looked completely different - heavy smoke at 3-4 am probably to counter moskitos, no idea, from fireplace outside; we used this place as transit station and had to get up at 5 am so it was ok. We were alone in the room, but if we would have to share the room with others it would have been completely different and probably not very enjoyable AT ALL. Works for a cheap ONE night stay near the airport.

I've stayed here for 4 nights and it's very comfortable.... Also if you want to have a city tour to museum's and cathedrals you can check with Mr. Charles so that he will arrange things at your comfort. You feel like home stay.

We were in transit for 12 hours and needed to stay close to the airport. We were very happy at the family house. Everything was spotlessly clean and Charles and his family were very kind and welcoming. We had a delicious home cooked meal for USD 3 for adults and 2 for children! The pick up from and drop off at the airport was faultless.

Located very close to the main airport of DAR the JJ&JE Guesthouse is a oasis in DAR where you can relax after your arrival in Tanzania and/or before your departure. The rooms were clean and Charles and his great family made us feel like home and cared great about us. The food was tasty, too. Charles is a great host and organized everything perfectly for us and we had a great time at his place. we just recommend to double-check the very different phone numbers of JJ&JE Guesthouse which phone numbers are working (we called 5 different numbers and no number was available) and doublecheck the pick up times with charles and his drivers to be on the safe side. Thanks again Charles & Family! We recommend the JJ&JE Guesthouse 100% and we will stay here again if we come back to DAR. Greetings from Germany.
