This house was simply amazing. It was somehow spacious and cozy all at the same time. There was ample seating for our large group both at the indoor dining table and the one on the covered porch. The pool table was a huge hit as was the porch for relaxing/bird watching and the beautiful, secluded beach. Everyone absolutely loved this place, we all agreed that it was even more impressive than the photos, and are already making plans to return next year!

Rented the house for a place for my family (10 adults ans 3 children). House was amazing. Plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and lounge areas for everyone to enjoy.
If you didn't like what was on the TV, simply go to another room and turn on a different TV.
We were supplied with a pool table, boxes of games, cards and our own private beach, including chairs.
could not have found a better place to stay and within a couple of miles to town and the wedding.

Our multigenerational families enjoyed a glorious Memorial Day weekend and big birthday celebration at Sunset Lodge. We can’t recommend it too highly for anyone looking for a private, spacious site right on the water. The kids, ages 4-10, spent most of the daylight hours swimming in the bay. Dinners on the screened in porch were delightful. Everything was as advertised. We all want to come back!

Had an amazing weekend just relaxing on the bay and enjoying this huge, very private house. Everything was as advertised. The sunsets are amazing. Would definitely come back.

House was clean, furnished well, and spacious. The screened-in porch was huge with a gorgeous view.

It was perfect for our family, swimming every day in the Bay, large property for kids to run around. Property manager and owner easy to reach. Would recommend to anyone

We spent a week at this property with our adult children and their families including four children under age six. We all absolutely loved our time at Sunset Lodge. The house is incredibly spacious with plenty of room to congregate or to spread out. The bedrooms are large and extremely comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and it was easy for our crowd to cook and eat in. We loved the beach and spent long days there. The back porch is huge and a great viewing spot for the eagles that fly by. The property manager, Emily was easy to contact and very helpful. We are already talking about a return trip next summer.

A very relaxing mini vacation. Spent most of time outside, fishing, reading, sun bathing, most relaxing vac. House was perfect. Very clean. Would not hesitate and would recommend to others to stay there.

We have been making an annual trip to Rock Hall for years, and this was our first time at Sunset Lodge, it won't be our last. The home is spacious and beautifully furnished. The view of the bay is spectacular, with beautiful sunsets. We enjoyed the large yard, playing lawn games, grilling and firepit. Grandson really loved the beach. Counting down the days until our return.

The property & sunsets were beautiful. We stayed in late November. We traveled to small towns to explore in the day and enjoyed family evenings on the porch and back lawn. We found sea glass on beach walks. Great space for multiple families of all age ranges. 2 bonus rooms were used for games.

We stayed at Sunset Lodge for 4 days and 3 nights with a group of our friends, 10 of us total. We loved everything about this property! The inside is beautifully furnished and the kitchen very well stocked. But oh . . . The view of the bay and the sunsets were outstanding! We sat by the fire pit every night and enjoyed the porch every morning. Took walks on the beach searching for sea glass and just enjoyed spending time relaxing and enjoying our surroundings. Meagan and Fred were super nice and welcoming. We all highly recommend this property.

We were a party of 13. This house was absolutely perfect for our needs. 3 couples had 3 king bed rooms. Then the kids filed in to different rooms and shared. Everyone had a bed to sleep on. Took my mom who was in a single bed rooming with her grandson. Only one king bedroom has an attached bathroom but there are plenty of bathrooms for all. The living area is spread out for all to enjoy together or to have some quiet time. The back yard is huge and I wish we could have brought our dog. I did see jellyfish in the bay but not a deterrant as it was so beautiful and peaceful and quiet. Had a great time on the wooden deck over the rocks to enjoy the sunset. Was very close to Rock Hall and the marina. We went fishing with Brody Pearch who showed us an excellent time and we caught our limit of sea bass. Went kayaking with Jim our personal guide as all of us went. REally enjoyed our short time spent in this area.

Great location and amenities for a multi-generational family reunion. We rented kayaks locally and spent the week on the water, playing games on the large lawn, watching Osprey & Eagles, sunsets, fire pit… the screened in porch was perfect for the grandparents to enjoy and participate. Be aware that the towels & sheets are an additional request to the rental.

Our extended family had a wonderful weekend. The house is very comfortably appointed and well taken care off. Meagan was available and helpful when needed. The private beach was a huge hit with the younger members of our party. When we weren’t on the beach we were on the gorgeous screened in porch. We visited the wildlife preserve and a couple area restaurants. The perfect getaway!

Great time & house met all our expectations; wonderful to sit outside in beautifully shaded yard; Had a great time watching nature (eagles, herons and other birds)
Our only problem was AC out in afternoons; but host was very responsive to this issue and sent service people out to resolve issue;
Little coffee shop in town was excellent as was dinner out at waterman’s crab house (recommend crab pretzel)
Local pub was very friendly and generous with beverages

Great property & had virtually everything we needed. The host is fantastic. 5 star rating deserved. Only negatives: outside grill was really dirty/rusty. The beach chairs need to be replaced & the A/C system could not keep up with the exceptionally high temperatures. Would stay here again.

The waterfront home on the Chesapeake Bay is a hidden gem! My family - ages 3 to 70 - had a wonderful stay here. First, let me say that the entrance to the property is a very long beautiful driveway that leads up to the most dramatic view of the Chesapeake Bay. It's gorgeous! The house was better than expected - a long ranch layout with a screened in porch that overlooks the bay. Big enough for our 4 families - 14 people total. Very clean and well maintained. The backyard is perfect for yard games and water toys. We had 4 toddlers running around back there and it was perfect. For the 2 teens in the group, there was great fishing and a game room with a pool table. There is also a small path in the backyard that leads down to your own private beach. It's unreal. The water was mostly calm with some small waves. We were able to swim, kayak and even walk out a bit and fish right in the water. We cooked dinners each night. The local grocery store is a few miles down the road, albeit a bit pricey. The few times we ventured out, we went to the marina - there are a couple of beach restaurants where we were able to sit outside and enjoy a drink. Harbor Shack was a fave. In the evening, we went for ice cream! One of the most special parts of this location is that it is a bald eagle sanctuary. I don't think I've ever seen birds of prey in the wild like this - it was a real treat! They would perch in the trees and then fly down and grab their lunch out of the bay. It was fun to watch. We loved this getaway and hope to be able to go back. If you're looking for a low key getaway and you book your vacation here, you won't be disappointed!

This was a great place for our group of 13, aged 5 to 86, that had gathered for four nights to honor an 80th birthday. The screened-in porch with a view of the bay was particularly popular with the group, and even had views of 4th of July fireworks across the water as well as a real lightning show during a storm one night. We also enjoyed the glider chair next to the lawn facing the bay, and the group made it out to the small private beach area that is best accessed through the trees to the right of the property while facing the bay. The kitchen was well-stocked, and there was more space both inside and outside the house than we had expected. There are three indoor leisure areas: one room with a pool table, one area with a bar set-up and lounging area, and a somewhat smaller seating area just off the kitchen/dining area. The bedrooms are in two wings, and are wells-tied. At least one has a sleep sofa that appears not to be counted in the total number of occupants but provides some flexibility in the rooming arrangements. The home is sizable, well-kept, and well-equipped. Meaghan was gracious in meeting our group when there was a bit of trouble with accessing the property at check-in time using the assigned entry code, and was helpful in providing recommendations for bakers, restaurants, etc. If you're traveling with elderly or disabled persons, note that there is no shower in any of the bathrooms, and the entire living area is on the second floor of the house (the first floor is a locked garage). you may wish to inquire. In terms of the surroundings, Rock Hall MD is a small town a few miles away, and Chestertown is slightly larger with more restaurants etc and about a 20 minutes drive.

Wow - the view - the view - the view! We had been searching for homes on a lake and this view was so much better. The second priceless characteristic was the HUGE screened in porch which could convert to a sunroom to protect from the wind. Additionally, the grassy area was perfect for the kids, we pulled the picnic tables out near the water for lunch and enjoyed the firepit at night. The inside was more spacious than expected, and the beds and furniture were high quality and very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with quality items and the flooring was durable for kids.
The beach area and the water access was another huge bonus, our kids even swam in October. Wish they had a kayak for use.
Only downside was the quality of the shower fixtures - which was a small downside.
Megan was very responsive, detailed and made us feel like family. I am sure I am forgetting things, but the bottom line is we highly recommend this property.

The property on which this house is situation is incredibly beautiful - the perfect spot for a quiet, relaxing vacation! Our family found the layout of the house perfect for our needs. There were so many spaces in which to relax! The game room with pool table was a favorite of our teen boys, the sunroom was perfect for reading, sorting sea glass, and looking out over the bay, the luxurious plush leather furniture in the den was perfect for those of us who like to stay in the air conditioning, or gathering to watch the Olympics, and the spacious table was plenty of space for our family to eat together. The nearby town was adequate for picking up the essentials, but don't necessarily plan on finding everything you would need to prepare full meals for a large family for a week. It was fun to explore, and there are some great restaurants nearby. The beach is small, but there was LOTS of sea glass driftwood to be found, so if you like to hunt for treasures (as we do), this is a great spot. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the listing accuracy was that the one bathroom was in need of some maintenance (the subfloor was really soft from rotting, the shower door leaked, and the hall door wouldn't latch), but the owner assured me they were on the to-do list. All in all, I would recommend this place to a family group looking to get away to a quiet destination for some relaxing time near the water.

This place was more $ than others where we have stayed, but we truly got what we paid for. They were 7 adults and 7 young children and the layout of the house was perfect. The beach was wonderful and the house truly was well-equipped. We had a minor issue with a leaking faucet when we arrived and owner was there to fix it within an hour after I texted the property manager.

We loved our stay at this house. Plenty of room for our group and the house was outfitted to accommodate large groups. Be sure you know that you have to bring your own sheets and towels.

We had a wonderful time visiting this beautiful property. It wasn’t clear to us before booking that towels, blankets, and sheets are NOT provided, which was cumbersome with a large group flying in from out of state. Having said that, everything else was wonderful and we would highly recommend staying here.

Sunset Lodge is a gorgeous secluded estate on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay three miles south of the village of Rock Hall. It was an ideal reunion site for our family of 14 ranging in age from under 1 year to 71. Photos of the house and property truly do not give them proper justice. It is steps from the bay with its own sand beach and easy water entry for all ages. The house has expansive front and rear porches (one screened in) for gazing at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, bald eagles and turkey buzzards. There is a huge, flat grass yard that is ideal for lawn games. A charcoal and propane barbecue make outdoor grilling a fun option. The kitchen and dining areas can accommodate your entire group and are fully outfitted with the necessary appliances, flatware and cookware. Each of the six bedrooms feature outstanding views and comfortable beds for all ages. There are flatscreen satellite TVs throughout the house. The three entertainment rooms offer great escapes and a chance for the adults to enjoy their own fun. Meagan and Fred are highly attentive and responsive owners. I recommend Sunset Lodge without hesitation.

Perfect location-quiet, with picturesque views of the bay, and all the creature comforts we needed for a family gathering. Plenty of room to spread out, with spacious dining areas inside and on the screened porch. Delightful stay, and we hope to return again!

We stayed at this beautiful property a week with family aged 81 to 8 months, and had absolutely everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Loved the beach and the screened porch. The house was huge and very quiet. Meagan was very responsive at all times. Highly recommend this property! We brought a few pop up canopies for shade at the beach area and they were great to have on hand. Great house and location!
