It is very cool to stay in a fortress. The staff was very kind as well.

My room was quite dusty, and being on the first floor everyone could see into my room, especially at breakfast as the tables are in front of it. I was hoping to have a personal bathroom, but maybe these kinds of rooms don’t exist in Swedish hotels—not even toiletries were provided. I was disappointed at how loud and disruptive the other guests were. I would say my stay was not worth the money. Getting to the island was a hassle, but if you ask a local with a boat nicely at the marina, they might boat you over.

Convenient b&b in a castle. Easy 5 min boatride away from vaxholm. Both the room and breakfast were better than expected.

Breakfast was OK. Very basic but for a 4 star hotel they can do better.

The apartment exceeded all expectations. Lots of places to hang out, comfy beds, a fridge! etc. etc.

The castle, and the location.

The location of the hotel was great. But it was mostly like there's no staff at all - there isnt anyone around at service if you need any help. You just grab your keys, get to your room, have breakfast in the morning and leave. The stay was still okay, but I'd say things could be much improved along with their service, given the beautiful castle they have as the location. The interiors could be improved and renovated a bit. Cleanliness could be improved as well. Also, I wish they had Wifi.

Breakfast was good, location is good as well, very unique.

Getting to the Island was a hassle. When I tried to make a prebooking with the taxi-boat company suggested, they were not willing to cooperate with getting me there at the time I preferred. The company seemed rather be willing to work at their own comfort, despite their webpage promising rides between 08:00-22:00, as long as you pre-book. That being said, I took the boat which goes every two hours between the land and the Island of the castle, so I managed to get there eventually.
