clean, nice rooms and comfortable
The food was nice but the wait time was almost 2 hours! Totally. it acceptable to be eating at 22:30… The hotel were only apologetic when we complained and then offered to take the drinks off our bill. This wasn’t the best considering the restaurant wasn’t even busy

Really bad experience here. The room was dirty upon check in (mainly the bathroom). We didn’t notice until the day after check in as we arrived late at night. We noticed after the daily housekeeping had been so they did not rectify this upon a second cleaning. We tried to call reception 7 times over a 2hr period and they didn’t answer. The water here is not drinking water so the receptionist said they could provide bottles free of charge. Every time I called to ask for more water I got no answer. The phone was answered once on the day of check out when we asked for milk, it took 1hr to bring it by which point we were checking out. Upon checking out we were not asked how our stay was or provided the opportunity to provide feedback. Amenities also aren’t great alongside the poor service; no robes, no slippers, minimal toiletries, basic buffet breakfast etc. I am shocked that this is a 4 star hotel. Overpriced for the amenities and services - definitely would not recommend.

Lovely, quiet, peaceful location, plenty of parking, great selection of tasty, quality food for breakfast. Rooms clean, comfortable and homely. Lovely treatments in the spa and afternoon tea was splendid! Nicest sandwiches I’ve tasted. Staff friendly.
Due to there being a locked inner door to the adjoining room, this meant that the people in the room next door could be heard talking which wasn’t ideal. Evening meal in the bar was pricy for what we had, food didn’t have much flavour and my burger / bun was a bit overdone.

The eggs were not cooke and the egg whites were visibly raw
No coffee machine we had to ask for coffee twice the staff were so busy they couldn’t get things out fast enough

Nice hotel in a great location. Staff were friendly, rooms were comfortable and the food was good. Spa was decent with a big pool.
Turned up at 14.55, room was not ready so had to wait until 15.35. Queues at breakfast - the breakfast room far too small for the amount of people. Overall price a bit to expensive in terms of value for money.

the wait for the rooms granted there was a powercut earlier on in the day could have been imformed to travel down a little later because of check in, instead of being told to sit at the bar after using the swimming pool as we were told to use that first as rooms wernt ready on our arival so delayed the night, dirty water running from the taps and told its clean enough to drink, just things really could have had in place for better experiance rather than being told rooms will be ready after you have used the pool and sauna to sit in the bar then still in gym gear as wanted to get ready for the evening having a shower and change in the room as bits were in the car if we were told might have been bigger delayed we xould have gotten ready in the swimming pool changing rooms but still not ideal having paying top coin for a room of high expectations.

The room was very lack lustre and boring, the decor a little scruffy not worth the £180 we paid for it

The location was very good with beautiful grounds
We booked a double room. They gave us a twin but said they could but the beds together. We had to ask three times before they did this but only on the second day of our stay. Cups no saucers in the room. Dirty cups were not cleaned from our room. The pool and jacuzzi were closed on the last day of our stay. We did ask to speak to the manager before we left who kept us waiting for a long time and in the end we just left.

Comfortable bed
Rude staff room was twin when should have been double. Seemed to be an effort to change. Lack of assistance getting taxi. Decor was tatty and marks on walls and skirting boards.

Everything. The facilities such as sauna, pool etc. The room was exceptional and the food in the restaurant was superb. All staff professional, nothing to much trouble and very personable. Great views and great relaxing stay. Well done all!!

Bar area was a little bullish, two men were sat just in towels from the fitness suite and there was a rowdy bunch in making a lot of noise

Quick easy check in.
Very noisy in room, next to a main entrance/exit with heavy wooden corridor door banging all through night. For price per night would expect at least soft closing door mechanism or sound proofing.
