You could hear a little bit of noise from adjacent rooms.

The location and the view of the street. The bed was comfortable.
Shabby old. Seriously in need of upgrading. One electric outlet on the opposite side of the room. Lighting was awful.
Over priced!

Just the location
I quote my Google review.
I recently stayed at a Hotel El Español Paseo de Montejo that I wouldn't recommend to anyone. The room itself was adequate, but the bathroom was an absolute disaster. From the moment I walked in, I noticed that the sink was leaking water all over the floor. It was clear that this had been an ongoing issue, I had to put towels scattered around the base of the sink, clearly meant to soak up the water.
Despite bringing this issue to the attention of the staff, nothing was done to fix it during my stay even though I was away from the room all day. The towels were simply replaced each day, and the leak continued to cause a mess. It was extremely frustrating to have to navigate around the soggy towels every time I needed to use the sink, and the constant dampness made the bathroom smell musty and unpleasant.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with this Hotel El Español Paseo de Montejo. The fact that they were unable or unwilling to address such basic maintenance issues is unacceptable. If you're looking for a comfortable, hassle-free stay, I suggest looking elsewhere.

Good quality hotel, big room, everything working, good location , a lot of restaurants around
Air flow from air-conditioning is too strong

Location was excellent. Basic rooms were big and beds comfortable. We were given water everyday. There weren’t refrigerators in the rooms. The price through booking was excellent but it’s not really a 4/5 star hotel. It served its purpose as we were there only to sleep. I did not use the pool so I can’t give an opinion.
There was a problem with the booking date and we did not find the staff helpful. They tried to charge us for a mistake we did not make. In the end, booking solved the problem.

First, location, location, location! It's perfect. Very close to Centro (downtown), lots of good restaurants and cafes just next door and across the street. Oxxo (7/11) just 2 blocks away and Walmart is 4 blocks away. Facilities are very good, pool is nice, staff is very friendly and welcoming. We liked our room, it had a great view of the Boulevard, but it was a bit noisy on weekends when there was a band playing in the Hennessey restaurant next door. WiFi was good, we lost internet only once or twice in our 31 days stay in hotel. To conclude, we like the hotel very much and have already booked 5 weeks stay in 2024.
If we could change something, it would be to have a chest of drawers and more hangers in the room, adding more light fixtures and to have more consistent hot water in the shower. For the longer stays, coffee maker and mini fridge would be great to have. And, please replace the noisy toilet /shower fan with a more quiet one.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location
There's a lack of cleanness in the whole hotel, from the stairs, the hallways and the rooms. Since the day I arrive until the day I left I spot some rubbish at the bathroom floor and it stay there the whole 4 days. The furniture is old, and not too comfortable. The lightning in the room is poor and there's no ventilation in the rooms so if you don't turn on the AC it's really uncomfortable to stay too long there.

No fresh air in the room.

- Convenient location, at the heart of Paseo Montejo.
- Very clean.
- The water in the shower wasn't always warm.
- Our bedroom had a connecting door to the bedroom next to it. It made impossible to sleep one night when the neighbours were being loud.
- The parking is not in the same building and closes at 11 pm

The location is perfect. On the paseo de montejo, shopping, dining, and easy access South to the city center and North words towards the malls and westernized restaurants etc and the wonderful Mayan Museum.
Nowhere to sit in the hotel room except for the desk chair. The problem with tile floors is you can hear everything including doors shutting, people talking in the hallways etc. No really efficient lighting over the bed to read, and not enough flat surfaces to distribute your belongings if you plan on staying more than a couple of days. Had to request a duvet cover,
