We booked the hotel because of the wellness facilities, but they were closed in the evening and also before lunch time. There is no info about this on booking.com! So we payed a lot of money for a service we couldn’t use. Staff is very unfriendly and told us that we should have inquired before we booked when I kindly asked them that they need to provide this info on booking.com. We travel a lot and have never experienced this before! If the wellness facilities are not open all the time it needs to be clearly stated! Otherwise that is very unfair! Bed is not good quality! Very hard mattress! Floor damaged! Zero service oriented! We were charged for two bottles of water from the mini bar! Drinking water must be provided for free especially in such a pricy hotel! We thought that was very rude because we couldn’t use the facilities we payed for. No customer orientation whatsoever! I communicated with the reception via whatsapp, at one point they didn’t even reply back! very rude!

La Dimora Di Metello was wonderful for my quick trip to Matera. The room and hotel are very modern and well taken care of, and the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The location was perfecting for exploring the historic center of the city and offered wonderful views of the Sassi Barisano. I was traveling with a rental car and used the public parking garage in the Via Saragat. I had no issues with it and could easily reach the hotel with the Linea Sassi. The breakfast was also quite nice!

special hotel in a magical place! The hosts were great, made us feel comfortable and served excellent breakfast.

unfortunately the spa was not open during our weekend getaway. the first night the heating wasn’t working but that was resolved instantly the next day by our hosts.

Extremely luxurious renovation of a Materan cave to romantic suite. Great location within sassi barisano - we loved enjoying the view overlooking sunset as well over breakfast in the morning. An amazing experience!

Absolutely everything ( Tutto Perfecto) . A very nice B&B to stay in , the location was perfect. And Elisabetta gave me a lovely welcome , and suggested a few nice restaurants. The young girl at breakfast time , was a delight , a bright smile to welcome you every morning , and very helpful , and made a lovely cappuccino. Enjoyed my breakfast on the terrace every morning, it was bliss . Would thoroughly and highly recommend La Dimora Di Metello for your stay in Matera . The only thing I would say is , don’t rely on Google maps to get you there . Once you get to Piazza Vittorio Veneto in front of Bianco di Napoli . Take the steps to the left , with a downward arrow marked Sassi , where the sign for Via Lombardi is on the wall. But go down to Via Fiorentini , then walk along this road for 500 to 600 metres , until you get to Ristorante da Nico, then turn right in front of it then a quick left . Then you will see La Dimora di Metello to your right , but you will need to climb a few steps to reach it . Buon Viaggio .

The hotel is newly renovated and well located in old town with nice views. Friendly staff and good breakfast, The heater is warm enough for the winter stay.

The property, the room and the view were gorgeous! Unique, high-end, very clean, comfortable, pampering (the toiletries were superb). Breakfast on the terrace was delicious and generous. Elisabetta was helpful in sending parking options above the Sassi area, she orientated us and recommended restaurants. We had a great time.

As an older couple, we would have preferred it not to be at the bottom of the Sassi. After a few hours of stairs and street slopes our lower limbs were sore... Despite the ambiance and although many of the highlights and good restaurant were close by, finding a way to be driven to the top after a rest (for coffee or ice cream for example) was not straightforward.
