Kind hosts, spacious accommodations, walkable to town

Excellent location, quiet street & very close to beach and cafes. Beds were comfortable, good shower pressure, and everything was on hand for cooking.

What an unexpectedly fine place to stay. The little cottage is added at the back of the regular house. It has a built on landing for outdoor eating, a pretty garden, and adequate parking right there on the grass. The hosts are delightful, love to talk and find out how you are doing, and have lots of ideas of things to do. The cottage is a block or so from lovely Hahei beach, with tourist things to do, if you are up to that sort of thing. It is close to the little town. The Pour House we went to had excellent food for dinner; the general store had what little we needed. Since the Cathedral Cove walk was closed due to a slip, so we drove over to Shakespeare Cliff Lookout and spent a delightful day on Lonely Bay beach nearby.

Location is excellent. Unit is very clean and tidy. Owner was helpful in terms of providing information about Hahei - where to eat (or not to eat) and what to do around the area.

There is lack of privacy at this accommodation. The outside area - which has a large table and multiple chairs, sits directly in front of the owners living area. Owner did come out to the deck often to have a chat.

Wonderful place and wonderful hosts. The place was clean, warm, and has everything you need. Pam and Bill have green thumbs and grow a beautiful garden in the back yard. The sweet fragrance of the citrus fruit trees, and the sweet fruits from the garden were so refreshing. Bill was even willing to taxi us to the Cathedral cove (round trip!). Their hospitality and kindness were much appreciated.

Hahei Beach Escape is definitely the only choice for our next trip to Hahei Beach! We were fortunate to have met Bill and Pam, who were such friendly hosts willing to share and help travelers. Despite the Cathedral Cove being closed due to the storm, Bill suggested that we take a rubber dinghy during high tide to get a close look at the volcanic rock bay and cave. We also appreciated Pam's sharing of fresh oranges and lemons from the yard. Look forward to being able to pick fresh avocados and other fruits in the not-too-distant future. More importantly, with Bill's continued encouragement, we finally enjoyed Hot Water from Hot Water Beach

Location of retro style accomodation.

The bed mattresses were retro. But the bed sheets and coverings new.

location was great owners were very fried and accommodating

the stay was an annex on the back of the advertising property. the owners live in front house and you’re in the back on an adjoining annex. it was fine for couple nights stay but for any longer I would’ve felt uncomfortable as it was shared garden etc there was nowhere private to relax or sunbathing in garden otherwise a lovely stay
