I liked the shower, but when I arrived the toilet had NO paper in it so I had to ask, the restaurant only served pizza & pasta dishes, even a full breakfast had vegan sausages, No Bacon & No Brown Bread, how bad does it have to get…..
Everything, I had booked and paid for a double room a month prior to my visit, but when I turned up I was shown to a twin room & it was only when I created a fuss was I offered a double room but the state of the room made me wonder if I had done the right thing, the room was dirty, there were cobwebs hanging of the light shades, the glass light fittings were caked in dust, not a small amount but thick with dust as if it had not been cleaned for months, the carpet in the bedroom looked like it had been recently changed but was that thick a pile you had to put your full weight on the door to open it, so much so that the screws in the hinges on room 7 were coming of the door surround & the door was buckling because of the screws in the top hinge were being held tight n the bottom screws were coming out of the framework as you tried to open or close the door, the supplied glasses in the room had water stain marks on them as if the last occupants had had a drink but left water in the glass & it had evaporated in the glass, there were also finger prints on the glasses, they advertise a smart tv + streaming service, this was not the case as my room had a 19” tv which was impossible to watch from the bed as the screen was so small, I went down for a drink at the so called bar to be told it was a non alcoholic drinks only bar, that caught myself and a couple of other guests out & as we did not know the area, we could not get a drink to unwind after a bad experience with the room & had I arrived earlier in the day I would have cancelled and gone elsewhere, but it was late evening n I needed my sleep having driven for 8 hours that day…

The welcome on arrival, the staff in general, breakfast was great: For the price- exceptional.

the exit door
it did not really exist - it had no reception - big signs outside said it was under new management - we eventually found an unsigned open door - went up a flight of stairs and found a landing with a table and two room keys in a bowl - sounds of occupancy from a room along a dark corridor.
We left the building and walked around to try to find any sort of real entrance. We gave up and drove south to Paisley and booked a room in another hotel.

The hotel was on our route and was clean
The room was at the front of the hotel and rather noisy. The Hotel is being altered and I feel will be much better once updated

Despite arriving half an hour after the booking in time the hotel was locked. We asked some workmen if they could contact somebody for us. We were told that the owner was away and had left someone else in charge, and they would contact them. A little while later the door was unlocked. The lady who unlocked the door didn't open it or apologise. We were told that the only options for dinner were pizza or burger. We went to the room, which smelled damp and the bathroom wasn't suitable for our disabled parents. We found another hotel nearby and left.

Only the location. The breakfast was ok
Dirty entrance bugs on the windows , . It was a 2pm book in but no body was there tried ringing but nobody answered waited an hour finally a staff member let us in an hour after we got there . Need to clean up their premises.

The hotel was ideally placed on our route from Skye. The room was OK alittle dated due to dark wood fittings. Staff were pleasant and the breakfast choice good.
Needs a refurbishment to bring it up to date. Also replace the mattress. Rear door left open at night.

Lovely people, comfortable bed, clean linen
noise from road, broken shower, curtain rail broken, tatty stairwell. Very busy road outside

It is a vegan only venue. This was not explained on booking. Breakfast was adequate but limited. I eat meat but I am gluten free options.
Unaware of vegan only breakfast.

There was noone to help with the checkiin. We came around 20:00 and found noone at the reception or any where in the hotel.
After half an hour of wondering around the hotel we took a key from a box and just took a room.

Nice location.
Ready to find.
Warm night with no air conditioner, didn’t expect one.
Had a front room on the Highway so there was a lot of traffic noise.
Just being taken over at the time, no one there to meet us. A quick phone call fixed that.

Conviniently located on the main road to the north of the country, this hotel is a good option if you’re looking for an affordable acommodation outside the city of Glasgow. Very basic, but clean and OK to spend one night - but not more. Staff was very helpful and nice.
It’s very basic and outdated and in need of renovation. Rooms smell a bit funky, breakfast is rather simple, but OK. Cheap mattreses.

location and friendly staff
1–floors were not vacuumed.
2–breakfast choices very limited ( e.g. no eggs or bacon available).
*** We were staying there for two nights B and B as we were participating in the annual Kiltwalk in nearby Balloch, Loch Lomond !!

Under new management - had to change my room no heating. The next room was the same. Got a portable oil filled heater eventually. Asked for a morning call - never happened. Breakfast was swimming in grease, never ate it.
Went to pay my bill - no one there. Had to leave cash with the cook who couldn't use a card machine!!!!
Everything. See above - comments in the wrong box 😊

The inn is run by a very friendly family and being dog-friendly its ideal for us and our two spaniels when travelling between the Isle of Skye and Yorkshire. Our room in the Farmhouse was convenient, warm and cosy.
Having stayed twice before and had amazing cooked breakfasts, we were disappointed to find the breakfast menu had changed. The choices were more limited and the food itself was not as good as on our previous visits.

We didn't die
The room was making noises from all over. The wifi didn't work. The room was across the street from reception, and there was no toilet paper when we went in (do the math). I could go on..

The owner was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. It was just what we needed, and at a great price. We had everything we needed, and it was clean.
Considering the owners have just taken over the place, and are in the middle of refurbishing it, all was good, and we had a nice stay.

Hotel being refurbished under new owners so I stayed in a ground floor room in the adjacent cottage. Very comfortable. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. Great value for money.
Nothing, all good.

location.
the staff had left before the published end of check in time (23:00). as such, we could not get into the property and had to find somewhere else. luckily, the Dumbarton Premier Inn helped us out - but cost us £60+ and BBC an hour of faff. it’s also worth mentioning that we were not the only person in this situation - another individual (commercial driver) was equally stuck.
to be fair to The Milton Hotel, they apologised for the inconvenience and said they will
issue a refund - the least they could have done.
I will not book here again.
