Great stay at Marari Xavier Homestay. Only one night but Sunitha is a good host with a fun sense of humour - happy to chat to you, in my case about cookery, since I love home cooking Indian style. Nice inclusive breakfast (we kept it simple to fruit, toast, jam, but egg and local savoury dishes are available too). There are lunch and dinner options and everything we ate or saw others eat was delish! Sunitha was really helpful by accommodating my request to watch food being cooked and note recipes, and she went to extra lengths to show prep and explain what to do. The homestay is about 20m from the beach, which we had to ourselves for swims. Didn’t experience any tricky currents; saw someone litter cleaning the beach in the morning so it’s probably cleaner than many Indian beaches. Didn’t leave the area but saw others getting tuk tuk into Allepey for a morning out. I think there’s four rooms, the upper three share a nice wood balcony and palm-tree backdrop with glimpses of the beach. Would recommend staying!

Excellent . Value for money. What we liked most is the hospitality of the owners . Food quality and preparation just too good and mouth watering. We were deeply touched by their attitude towards their guests. A Christian Keralite couple who played the role of a perfect host .

The food was really delicious, the private beach is lovely, just a dog passing by peet on our sandcastle but it was funny to watch from the sea, they welcomed us heartly and after they know about my birthday they organised cake cutting for me and a candle light dinner❤️🥰

We got a different room, an upgrateded room but they did not tell us that we had to pay for that room more.

Staying at Marari Xavier was a lovely experience. Beautiful location and clean rooms. The food was absolutely amazing. Staying with the family was the best part of this stay, they are so wonderful and helped us with everything.

It is nice property, serene and away from city noises. You can enjoy walk on the beach, see locals fishing. Rooms are spacious and tidy. Owners are really nice, food is amazing. They will arrange everything for you if you request.

Very clean, comfortable and spacious room. Excellent home made food. Owners are extremely kind and gentle. Five minutes after my arrival an afternoon boat trip in the backwaters was organised by them and they even took me for a small fee to the pier.

Yes. The food was very very good at Marari Xavier's. A delight and very reasonable priced. They were happy to organise a canoeing trip for us. Very nice was that the host taught us some of the local language. We are practising a lot. We had a really nice time there. The location is clean and very close to the nice beach with terrific sunsets. Unfortunately, the beach has a lot of rubbish on it. A sad problem the whole country India is facing. As a suggestion for improvement the next investition of the host could be buying more comfortable mattresses. Valare valare nandi.

Ihad loads of questions stepping into this trip. But, Goodness me. What a trip it turned out to be. The hosts of this property are simply beautiful, amazing and such a lovely people. Sunitha and Albert, hosts of this property took care of me, and all guests as if they are our own. Everytime, you ask them for anything, they are ready and prepared for everything. This property has its own self private beach and its 5 mts from our room. The beach is such incredible, calm and beautiful I stayed for hours and hours just looking at its stunning sunset views and waves all day and night. The food prepared by Sunitha is such incredibleand delicious. Starting from home made authentic kerala style breakfast to all varieties in lunch and dinner. You name it and its there.. no matter what time. I requested for early check in and they said yes without a question. I asked for late check out and they are perfectly okay without hesitation. Truly genuine people and they just mingle with us with ease. They provide scooters for rent, they make us prepare for backwater rides any contacts we name, they have it. Main highlights are private beach with stunning and breathtaking views, food, quality of service and mainly hosts and their ground to earth interations with us. Looking forward to come and visit again them soon.

Very nice location to relax in front of a clean beach. There is also a beautiful lake 5 minutes away. Albert and Sunni were amazing hosts that tried to help with everything and were extremely friendly. It was hard to leave, since we enjoyed our time there a lot. It's only like 15 minutes away from Alleppey center by tuk tuk and it's the perfect stay to relax, have a swimm and then explore the city in the afternoon.

The hosts Albert and Sunitha are extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating. They are a warm family who are great hosts. Sunitha is a great chef who makes customised authentic kerelan meals for all 3 meals a day! Another guest celebrated their wedding anniversary there and the host family went above and beyond with decorations and cake! The room was clean. The homestay is right on the beach with great sunset views. We stayed at hotels during our trip but the experience and service here was far better!
