Cockroaches in bed, plug socket seemed a bit dodgy. Overall weird vibe to the place but was cheap so not too bad

It's really just a small hut with a mattress inside nothing else. But it's cozy

The bathroom should definitely be improved, not clean, basically not water coming out of the shower head. And when we arrived, there were wholes in the moskito net. .

The hosts are friendly have put a lot of effort into creating an entertaining environment

the owners are friendly and cute, the bed was ok and there is a net inside of bungalow, sounds of nature everywhere. there is a huge turtle and I saw wild monkeys. if you are a nature lover and you are not interested in comfort shower - it will be ok for you.

the toilet has bucket with water for drain the shower is the same room and it doesn’t look comfortable. it’s old, a bit dirty and no warm water. no space for stuff inside bungalow, honestly only a bed golf and all common areas are really old, dirty and a bit neglected

Really nice small bungalow not far from the center but in a quiet area. We had coffee and water and could play mini golf, and the owners were really nice as well.

The bungalow is kind of small but super comfy

The bungalow looks beautiful and so cute! Everything is made of bamboo! There is a big comfy 2 person matress on the floor with big fluffy red towels on them and a large soap. The mosquito net is very large and is tucked in around the mattress so no mosquitos can get in. You get 2 cold bottles of water on arrival and the staff are super kind and patient and answer all your questions. The fan on the wall works great, it is very strong with 3 settings (not sure why a review here says otherwise?) and it is not noisier than any other fan. I wasn't too hot at all as a result. There is a big shelf behind the mattress for storing your luggage. And to keep mosquitos away they light incense to put under the bungalow on a bottle which works great. I had no issues with mosquitos at all. There is a table and 2 chairs in front of the bungalow and it is a very spacious lot with lots of grass and palm trees. You have the staff house, then 2 bungalows about 5 meters apart, then the bar 10 meters ahead and behind that the 2 bathrooms. The shower is cold but works fine and there is a sink with a mirror outside it. The toilet is a normal toilet with a bucket flush. The bathrooms look older but they work just fine. They are very clean, just not modern. Outside the bathrooms is a mini golf course to use and you can hang out at the bar and have drinks if you like. There is a 7-eleven 5 minutes walking down the road and across it you can rent a scooter. Coming from the docks to the bungalows is about a 5 minute taxi ride which should cost you +-100 baht. The staff again were so nice during my visit and told me all about the current political and economic situation in Thailand and the nice spots to visit on the island, the best parties to go, and played mini golf with me while some bossa nova played on the background from the bar. The owner had a big career as a magician in Asia and has great stories and tricks!

I had a very relaxing stay; but sometimes the dogs nearby fight at night which did wake me up so be sure to bring earplugs just in case. You don't hear the music from parties or sounds from the highway though so that is the only thing to be prepared for. The 2 dogs on the lot are super cute and will 'guard' your bungalow at night by sleeping under it and they wait for you to exit it while wagging their tail. They are well trained and don't annoy you in any way, but sometimes they bark at other dogs.

The location is good, you can walk up to a temple and wave down the blue shared taxis when wanting to go somewhere along the main road (e.g. pier, night market). The owners are very friendly and brought me free coffee and food after I arrived, very sweet.

My experience in April 2022: If you are looking for the social vibe mentioned in previous reviews, I don't recommend going. The photos are old and of the previously 22 bungalows, currently only two remain. The owners took them down during the pandemic and want to put more in place again in the future, but this made it a very sad place when I was there. I would also prefer more cleanliness, there were a couple of wholes in the mosquito nets and the bungalows are very small - for one person just about ok, but difficult fitting two bags/suitcases in. The owners said they would consider bigger bungalows in the future after I mentioned this to them. There also was an issue with double-booking while I was there. By the sounds this could become a really cool place again in the future, especially as the owners were so friendly, but I would give it some time before recommending to stay there.

Mr. Magic - the owner makes a very unique atmosphere. He is very kind and helps you with whatever you need. The bubgalow is really nice inside and the bed is very comfortable. Totally recommended!!

Me and my boyfriend really enjoyd our stay at the Bamboo Bungalow Hostel! Nris and Nina are the best hosts you could ask for, such lovely people, gave us a familiar atmosphere while staying on Ko Pha-ngan. It was nice to stay so close to nature, to play mini golf every evening and to enjoy Nris magic tricks :) The Hostel is good located, too! If we will be in Thailand one day again, we will definitely visit the bamboo Bungalow again! ( Warm regards, Dokmai & Sitloa )

The owner is a really cool and nice guy! He'd build a mini golf to entertain his guests! The best of all is that he's a magician and that there's a little circus in his backyard. The vibe at his place is so good!! We really enjoyed our stay there!!
