the wilder brook apartment had an amazing view especially from the kitchen windowsill where we sat each morning sipping on a coffee and enjoying views of the town and Devonian gardens. you can even spot squirrels chasing around. Kitchen was probably better equipped than mine, there was everything you need and even more. bonus points for coffee machine and hamper with some breakfast bits and Prosecco. Apartment was sparkling clean with great selection of books and DVDs. We really enjoyed used of two bathrooms. What’s most important is the host are just lovely to be around and will take the best care of you. I could say million positive things about the apartment, the location, gardens, quirky bar and very attentive hosts but it’s best to check it out yourselves! you won’t regret it :-)

We arrived at the Devonian and was greeted by piper and Terrence , from the moment we walked in we felt so welcome . We stayed in the Wilder Brook apartment. Well what can I say about the apartment!! On the photos it looks beautiful! On entering the apartment I was overwhelmed it is massive . I was so overwhelmed at how beautiful it was I had tears in my eyes . We then entered the kitchen . Wow a beautiful hamper filled with goodies for us , plus a breakfast hamper filled with so much I can’t write it all down . There was nothing you needed that wasn’t there . A beautiful card to welcome us was also with the hamper with Prosecco and naughty treats 😀. The 3 bathrooms all with soaps and body cream , soft towels and everything you require . On entering the bedrooms that are decorated beautiful we found little boxes in our beds with sleep mask and ear plugs . Then a lovely tote bag with hand gel and sweets . So much thought goes into this beautiful home , with no expense spared . Everything is stunning there home is warm and welcoming . Piper and Terence are a wonderful couple who asked every time we seen them did we need anything , is everything ok ? They gave us tips on where to visit as it was our first time in ilfracombe , where to eat they were just fantastic. We enjoyed a few drinks in the bar with them and a good chat and bit of banter 🤣 . I have stayed in many places over the years but this is definitely my favourite. Piper and Terence definitely love there home and work so hard . We can’t wait to go back next year and booked again just before we left . Thank you both for letting us enjoy you beautiful home we had a fantastic holiday and can’t wait to come back xx ps I also suffer insomnia and slept like a baby all week 😀

Absolutely nothing not to like

Piper and Terence the owners were very friendly helpful and work their socks of to make every stay special. The apartment was enormous, well decorated, very comfortable and it felt luxurious.

Ilfracombe looks tired but if all guest houses and apartments are refurbished like this it will soon be the place to be seen

Surprisingly large and well appointed apartment, which we found spotlessly clean on arrival. The house is a period building in a large garden. Hugely helpful and friendly hosts with lots of suggestions for things to do in the local area (e.g. hints for finding the wonderful and secluded Broadsands beach). Location gives easy access to a beautiful cliff top walk round The Torrs. Bikes are available to hire from the owners though we brought our own and were able to keep them safely in the bike shed in between heading out to the hills of Exmoor. We were a family of four with two teenagers who loved surfing in Woolacombe, which is a ten minute drive away.

We couldn’t really fault anything - visitors should perhaps be aware that there several flights of stairs to get to the apartment, which takes up the entire top floor of the building, and it’s a bit of a walk into the centre of Ilfracombe.

My parents and I spent a wonderful 3 nights at The Wilder Brook apartment at The Devonian. The property is quite simply exceptional. The rooms were clean, spacious and tastefully decorated (the pictures don't do it justice!). Terrance and Piper have thought of every single detail. From the breakfast hamper (complete with short bread and fudge!) and fully equipped kitchen to the snooker table, board games and beautiful garden terrace. Terrance and Piper are truly exceptional hosts, they were approachable, friendly and respectful throughout our stay and tended to our every need. The property is perfectly located to enjoy all that Ilfracombe has to offer, as well as exploring the surrounding areas. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a luxurious stay in North Devon. This is the best holiday apartment that parents and I have every stayed in and we very much look forward to visiting again soon. Thanks Terrance and Piper for making our stay so memorable!

Absolutely nothing!

The apartment is fantastic - like a home from home but only better! Much much bigger than it appears in the pictures and lots of little extra touches such as games, books, a welcome basket and even Prosecco! We felt thoroughly welcomed by the hosts Piper and Terence. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would recommend it to everyone we know.

Wonderfully equipped apartment, clean, contemporary decerated and hosted by caring and thoughtful owners who provided a warm welcome, complementary hamper on arrival and even provided us with an anniversary card and bottle of fizz.

Beautiful appartment, so well equipped and maintained, everything was thought of.

The apartment was stylish , spacious and very comfortable, probably the nicest accommodation I have ever booked . The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need and has a window seat overlooking the beautiful garden to sit and relax , perfect spot to relax and read a book . The owners Piper and Terence are so friendly and make you feel welcome . They have worked very hard to restore this Victorian building to a very high standard. We loved our stay and would highly recommend
