it was a lovely place to stay. property is gorgeous room beautifully decorated. with toiletries a coffee machine. i did not use but saw that is a sauna and hot tub that could be used for additional charge. the bar was lovely and so reasonably priced. the gardens are lovely and lots of different seating areas to enjoy a drink in and enjoy some peace and nature. the hosts are excellent. welcoming personable it felt like staying with friends. breakfast choices were good and chose the night before then its cooked freshly for you.

Terrence and Piper are wonderful hosts with a stunning home which they let us share. Had a slight mishap with the bathroom door handle at 22.30 and Piper promptly rocked up and sorted 😂

Everything! If I could give this hotel an 11 or 12 I would. It's truly exceptional. Run by a warm and engaging couple who deliver an outstanding service despite it being just the two of them. The breakfasts were wonderful and the place is immaculate. Great attention to detail with everything thought through. We loved Ilfracombe for its accessibility to the south coast trail, and the walk to Woolacombe is truly stunning! I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for keen walkers.

just fantastic location and great exchanges with hosts. central location, free private car park, close to many beaches (woolacombe, and all the southern part down to Hartland point, and St martin Combe) and cliff path and seals observations, fantastic room and view, excellent breakfast.

Massively underpriced by at least £50. I stayed in the olive room, it was about 20 metres long, fantatsic room. I met Piper and Terence when i arrived, really lovely hosts. The property has a small car park, when Ilfracombe is busy it is impossible to find a car parking spot so this is ideal. Only took me 5 minutes to walk down the road to the harbour. Ice cold small bottle of milk in fridge by reception, nice touch. Now, the breakfast, wow, 7 tables laid out..tablecloths, bone china, silverware, looked 5 stars like everything else in the property. I had orange juice, strawberrys and blueberrys, cereal, 4 slices of toast with salted caramel spread, then full english breakfast, that included 2 eggs 2 bacon, plate was full, tea and coffee available. Then Terence said, what else do you want....wow amazing. Piper and Terence are willing to spend alot if time with you and they are both a joy to be around, they both spoke to me when i left to make sure i had a good time. I was actually emotional when leaving because i didnt want to leave. Honestly, hand on heart I have stayed in hundreds of b&b's/hotels this was the best one. Keep it up P & T, no pressure.

The property was clean, modern and in walking distance to lots of local things in Ilfracombe. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Piper and Terence were exceptional hosts. They are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was brilliant too and was excellently organised with lots of options available.

Location was excellent in a nice quiet area, Terence and Piper were very friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome. The room was very tastefully decorated and beds were so comfortable enabling us to have a great nights sleep. The choice at breakfast was fantastic and catered very well for all dietary requirements. Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to stay there again.

There was nothing not to like everything was excellent.

At the start of the booking process, i contacted the Devonian as i wanted to check on some things. Terrence and Piper were very helpful, and on arrival, we were made to feel extremely welcome. They provided an early breakfast for us to make sure i ate before going on my diving trip. They went above their normal routine to provide this for us. The breakfast was excellent. Our room was very clean and welcoming. The whole guest house was clean, tidy, and welcoming. We have already recommended The Devonian to our friends, and we really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely go back sgain. Terrence and Piper are really a lovely couple.

The attention to detail throughout the B&B and provided by the hosts is second to none. Absolutely everything is taken care of and you really are made to feel at home, we wish we could have stayed longer.

An outstanding establishment. The attention to detail was amazing, even down to the linen on the breakfast table. A first class B & B there is not a single thing that could be done better. Our room was The Olive suite, fabulously decorated with little extras such as eye masks and luxurious products in the en suite. We had a big TV room to ourselves with a unique and quirky little games room full of games, cards, DVD’s and a great choice of books. The breakfast was outstanding ( we had the full English) we will 100% be visiting again.
