Spacious room. Smart TV that allows you to watch youtube/ netflix on big screen if you don't understand Japanese programs. Good quality communal kitchen. Big fridge, nice island counter for stove and wash basin. There are vending machines for toiletries, snacks, drinks and instant noodles. The smoking room connected to the kitchen has good ventilation such that no cigarette smell escape into the non-smoking area. Simple self check-in with machine with passport scanning. Helps keep cost down?

The coin operated washing machine is big and good but it would do with some cleaning and airing in between washes or grime and smell will build up. No elevator (4 floors of rooms) so people with suitcases may find it cumbersome if their rooms are on the top floor. The whole building is very warm with heater on each stairs landing set at 20degC (except basement). Because of fuel price inflation, perhaps it may be okay to reduce the temperature. I hope the hotel stays profitable and affordable! Ganbatte!

The place is litterally in front of the slope. Very easy to go for snowboarding, have a good rest area (event though I have checked out, we still able to take a rest there). Breakfast is delicious!

The wall is thin. There was a highschooler group that super noisy and I hope the quiet policy is written in each room too.

G-Square is located on top of a hill when walking from the station so it's quite a climb especially with luggage

There has no lift in the property which made hard to carry luggage to the room. The road out side was blocked for ski track ending， which makes the car can not reach to the property. We have carried our luggage to walk to the property on snow covered track. It makes so hard. There has no shuttle bus to bus station or other main lift station. Other than these it is all good.

If you want cost effective ski in and out accomodation this is you’re spot. The staff answered all our questions and the breakfast and dining area were very comfortable with views of the slopes. The room had plenty of space to keep our bags and the dry room and luggage storage was easy access if you’re checking in early/checking out late.

These are communal Japanese style bathrooms with no showers. The women’s wasn’t the cleanest during our visit but offered all the items you need to bathe. The toilets are a tight fit so wouldn’t recommend it for tall people as you’ll have to side saddle the bowl. Both of these points wouldn’t be something that deters us from staying again.

Breakfast

The breakfast was delicious and made each morning. The location is steps from a gondola and so convenient. Such a affordable place to stay when exploring Zao!

The personality of the owner comes out in everything here in the form and function of things.

Great location

the location is great, 50 meters away from the gondola. the Chinese-speaking staff were very helpful. the kitchen is nice and you can cook meals by yourself.

the air conditioners' outside machines were very noisy at night. fortunately, the staff helped us change a room. remember that never use the room at the end of the second floor. you cannot sleep for a second.

Cost performance is excellent. Super convenient to ski lifts, rental shops, etc.

Breakfast leaves a bit to be desired. Needs to be kept warmer. Stop with that chocolate Rice Krispies cereal.

The hotel has a perfect location just near the gondola and a good rental shop. The rooms are spacious, there is a comfortable lounge with the view of the slopes, well-equipped common kitchen, drying room, and an onsen-style bathroom. The breakfast cooked by the staff was very tasty and filling, buffet-style when the hotel had more people. The staff (Anna and Michael) are very professional and friendly, they snowboarded with us and joined a few times for lunch at Sangoro, the restaurant half-way up, where we could have unlimited drinks as customers of G-Square. I would highly recommend this place.

the self check-in system failed when we arrived, so we only got one card key for the room. But we got the second key next morning, so it was a minor issue.

The location was excellent. Right between slopes #7 and #4. You could look out the window and see the slopes right there. Less than a minute walk to the slopes. The complimentary breakfast was very nice. Lots of options from scrambled eggs, bread, bacon, sausage, fish, to yogurt, cereal, soup, curry rice, coffee and juice. The drying room for snow gear was also nice. TV in the room was very new, nice, and came with Netflix.

I was disturbed by how my blanket and sheets had very big stains on them. One looked like a blood stain that was not washed yet- I really hope they are washing the blankets and sheets. The restroom smelled bad the whole time I was there (day and night). I think cleanliness could be significantly improved.

Great location, 1 minute walk to the cable car/gondola and lift pass center. Staff was super kind, always helped even without us asking. There's a drying room in the basement for your snowboard, boots, etc. And the rooms although small has a large space for hanging clothes and keeping your luggage.

There's no elevator but it's fine, place is only 4 stories high.
