I guess our straight 5-star ratings in every category above pretty much sum it up. This house is spacious, spotless, and comfortable. And lovely! Sarah is a perfect host, answering each communication quickly, and generally being an extremely helpful and accommodating person to work with. We love staying here, and as tempting as it would be to gatekeep "our secret" (ha), we must share the love!

We had a wonderful week in Sister Bay, and very much enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was very walkable to everything we needed or wanted to do.
The kitchen was well-equipped, so we did not need to purchase or bring many things for our stay.
We did not give it 5 stars, as there were things that, for the price, we would have expected. The floors were dirty (had to wash feet every night before bed), there were household chemicals and cleaning supplies in places where little kids could easily access, we had to supply our own wood for bonfires, etc. These are mostly little things that were relatively easy to take care of. However, I just would not expect to have to do that for this price.
All that said, we did enjoy our stay, and you really cannot beat this location for accessibility to downtown Sister Bay.

Quite honestly, we could not have found a better place to "call home" in Door County nor could we have asked for better hosts. Sarah and Adam's Modern Dorr in Sister Bay was the perfect place to stay, and all we can say is that Sarah and Adam were the type of hosts everyone hopes for -- the communication was great, the welcome tray was much appreciated, the house was well stocked with everything needed, and the spacious accommodations were both clean and comfortable. It was a pleasure waking up there each morning, and when we returned each afternoon/evening from a fun day exploring DC and taking advantage of many of its pleasures, it was wonderful to come back to Modern Dorr. We took full advantage of the property's many amenities -- grilling, the fire pit, relaxing outside as well as inside, using the kitchen to whip up some family favorites. Oh, and before I forget -- the Welcome Book you laid out on the desk provided some great suggestions for all of Door County's hamlets. That was much appreciated. Thank you. :-)
Even though we were but a few short blocks from Sister Bay's bustling main street, we were secluded in peace and quiet, which was doubly appreciated after long -- yet fun! -- days exploring Wisconsin's Summer Playground.

We enjoyed staying at this tastefully updated home. The beds were comfortable & it had so many nice touches like a fire pit, bikes and lots of games! It was situated in a perfect location within walking distance to downtown Sister Bay!

From start to finish, Sarah made the process easy and stress free Modern Dorr was as advertised, neat, clean and talk about location! Great central location with a short drive to most activities and walking distance to downtown Sister Bay, the beach as well as coffee and restaurants. Could not have asked for a better experience.

The property looked exactly like the pictures. The house was about 2 blocks or a 5 min walk to the Main Street in Sister Bay which made it convenient when at the beach or if you needed to go back and get something. We have rented many houses and this one has been the best so far. The beds were comfortable, the house is clean, lots of toiletries provided, the kitchen had everything you would need, bikes, kayak and paddle board. We never thought we were missing anything. The hosts checked in with us and were available for questions. If you are looking for a place to stay while in Door County this it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Modern Dorr! The location was perfect -- we loved that we could enjoy all that Sister Bay has to offer (beach/waterfront, restaurants, live music, etc.), and after a quick few minute walk we were back to a super private and peaceful "home". The amenities and accommodations didn't lack a thing...absolutely everything we needed (or could think of!) was supplied. Sarah provided recommendations for things to do and places to eat which we also found very helpful. We'd absolutely stay here again!

Modern Dorr was a great location & provided roomy accommodations for our family of 4 during a recent fall stay in Sister Bay. Very clean, had everything we needed, lots of fun board games provided and a friendly and responsive host. Would highly recommend!

The location was fantastic. Place was pelnty big enough for our family of 5, but the place needs a deep cleaning. Furnishing looked either like the cheapest ikea/target options or hand me downs. I myself have plenty from target but coffee table isn’t functional wirh the slabs, couch had huge stains, navy chairs were so low to the ground we’d never use them. Pantry was grungy. My feet were dirty after walking around on floors after an hour in the first day. Like the place had been dusted/swifted but not CLEANED. For the price we paid, I was expecting better.

We are 4 adults and two children, and this house suited us perfectly. Spacious, comfortable, modern kitchen and bathrooms. Lovely outdoor spaces, too. We loved it.

My husband and I stayed at this property while visiting Door County and just loved it. It had a modern look and feel with a touch of Swedish essence, but with all the coziness of a cabin tucked in the woods. The amenities within were thoughtful…blow dryer with diffuser, lotion, first aid kit and more in the bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials so that we didn’t have to go buy bits and bobs. We would back in a heartbeat!

We love this home and the modern Scandinavian decor and openness. Perfect set up for a group of friends or family. Great patio space and relaxed setting but also close to all the action in Sister Bay.

Our family (my husband, 9YO son, and parents) stayed at Sarah and Adam's beautiful home over Labor Day weekend. It was the perfect getaway from Milwaukee for a long weekend. The convenient and scenic stroll from Modern Dörr into Sister Bay was the ideal start to each day to fetch coffee and breakfast. Modern Dörr had everything we needed/wanted and more to make our stay memorable. We are already looking forward to our next visit and would heartily recommend the Modern Dörr cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay in beautiful Sister Bay!

Our family enjoyed a week at this wonderful home in late August. Check in was super easy and the home was very clean. The hosts were kind to have a welcome package with coffee and other items to welcome us. As a coffee drinker you can’t ask for more options to prepare your morning brew. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes/utensils, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were great and no issues with the WiFi. There is also a nice backyard with seating to enjoy the outdoors.
The location is a five minute walk to all there is to offer in Sister Bay, including the beach.
The hosts were very responsive to a request to extend the stay.
Would definitely stay again!

This was our second time staying at this wonderful home! It was another awesome vacation for our family. The house is in a perfect location, an easy walk to get to all of the fun in Sister Bay. Plenty of space for our family of four. We enjoyed being able to make a few meals at the home and also had fun using the fire pit to make S’mores. Easy check in/check out process and great hosts. We would definitely would recommend this home…we are already talking about finding a time to book another stay!

My husband and I took our moms to Door County to celebrate their birthdays and the trip couldn't have been any better! And a huge part of our wonderful experience was because of our home away from home. Everyone had a comfortable space to find some solo time or gather together! The home had everything we could possibly need and was so lovely! We walked to town every morning- finding our favorite coffee or breakfast treat- I cannot express enough how convenient the location is. So much is within walking distance and the drive was so easy to Fish Creek, Wickman House, and galleries in Egg Harbor!

A wedding brought us up to Sister Bay and we opted to turn it into our first trip with kids (2 and 9 months). We admittedly booked last minute and were THRILLED with this home. It was spacious enough for some space between napping kids, but cozy enough to encourage quality time. It was modern, clean, and well stocked with necessities and fun/enjoyable items. We didn’t do much research before we walked up - but we hardly got in the car once we arrived - because of how walkable it was. Sarah was incredibly responsive to a few questions we had - and the welcome basket was a lovely way to start our trip. I’ve never wanted to return to a rental property - and should we ever return to Sister Bay, we will be seeking this one out again!

Our family (3 kids and an infant) had a marvelous stay. The home was clean and comfortable. It is walking distance to the beach, coffee and sunsets! We loved the backyard eating and lounging area as well.

We had an amazing stay. The house was clean and inviting; we were very comfortable day and night. Location is extremely convenient to the beach and shops. Even with little kids it was an easy walk into town. Sarah was quick to respond and was very accommodating. The kitchen had basically everything we needed. Very well stocked. Wonderful Sister Bay stay!
We have been going to sister bay for almost 20 years and stayed at the same place, which was sold recently, and have been looking for a new place. We feel like we did! We loved the location, the house was beautiful and so well equipped. Adam and Sarah left a wonderful welcome basket, which my kids thought was so cool! I’ve never stayed somewhere that had so many cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, Cascade etc. we always bring our own. I was thrilled that they truly made us feel like we were at home. Everything was easy and comfortable and everyone had the best week. Thank you!

Super location - walkable to anything in sister bay. The house was clean and very well appointed. We didn’t cook, but the kitchen was well stocked. And coffee lovers like me will be happy with the options. Very highly recommend!!

Amazing Sister Bay Home!
We had an awesome time during our recent stay at Modern Dorr! The location is perfect…we enjoyed being able to walk to the downtown and beach area every day. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed being able to cook some of our meals at home and had fun using the fire pit for s’mores. Sarah and Adam were wonderful hosts with excellent communication. Check in and check out was super easy. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and look forward to coming back soon! Thank you for everything!

Incredible home in sister bay
We enjoyed everything about our stay at Modern Dorr. The layout, updates, amenities and location can’t be beat. Sarah was a delight to communicate with and very responsive. Our kids were sad to leave and have already asked when we can go back again!
