although going through a bit of modernisation had a proper old style feeling like the hotels on the coast use to be.

I always apply a parking filter to my search which came up with this place . I was therefore very upset to find their parking comprised of parking in the public council car park next door . the building is in poor condition ,eg holes in the ceiling in the breakfast area from previous roof leaks, missing / torn carpets, damaged furniture in the room and a bathroom so small the designer clearly never tried to use the loo!

Location and breakfast 😀 bed was nice and comfortable.

The location was excellent, the staff very helpful and friendly, breakfast was good.

It is an old building and needs some remedial work doing which I think is being done.

A simple freshly cooked English breakfast. a great start to the day.

Check-in was good. Breakfast good. Room fine and comfortable. Very good value for money.

Awkward access to loo in bathroom - tight squeeze. Would have liked 'real' coffee at breakfast rather than instant.

Gorgeous view from the room. The room layout was much appreciated too, had a very cosy vibe with an armchair and a nice dresser. The location was great.

We found parts of it quite dirty and old - many of the glasses at the breakfast bar were clearly dirty/not properly washed. Water leaks in corners. Bed sheets looked quite old too.

Shower was awful, room wasn't very clean, music and partying going on until the early hours, no spoons for drinks, outside the front doors where you could smoke was filfthy, used Tampax outside along with a huge bin of cigarette end tipped over (clearly been there a long time), dead rat on car park not far from entrance, tiles coming off in bathroom

Location and welcome excellent Room was clean with good en-suite and beautiful view of river. Not noisy even though room overlooking road.

Bed was standard double and although comfy was very small as we are used to super king bed. Would have liked more choice at breakfast e.g fresh fruit instead of cereal.

as someone who is blind, the property was easy to navigate

Very noisy at night. I should have expected noise given it was Saturday night and the hotel is above a pub. Ideal if you're going out on the town but not if you're planning an early night. I imagine it's a lot quieter during the week.

Nothing The pub had a lock in, in till 2am so I had little sleep!!.

The shower door didn't shut and the hot wate r in the shower didn't work, Loud music and shouting in till 2am from bar staff and owner. Old fag buts in the draw and a can, mould in the shower.

Arrived late as train delays - warm welcome :) Fab location, river view, close walking distance to cathedral, canal, marina, cinema, cafes, restaurants, historical buildings, shops and museums. Single room basic but adequate, clean enough and bed linen/towels are laundered. Complimentary toiletries. Great pressure on shower. Breakfast consists of help yourself to tea/coffee, cereal and juices and a full english cooked to order.

Room smells musty. No decaf coffee available, even from kitchen. Breakfast juice jugs showing signs of mould around pourer lid. Water pipes make a helluva racket after a toilet flush 🙉 Pub downstairs and main road can be a little noisy in the evening although I was expecting that so I brought earplugs and managed a good night's sleep

Landlord and staff welcoming and friendly. Breakfast room looks recently decorated we liked the colour choice :) Location is perfect and great view
