Very very small room

Firstly, the most important point: I would be very happy to stay here again. The location is superb for the museums and the Royal Albert Hall and conveniently situated for the Gloucester Road underground station for those that want to get into central London. We booked three rooms for two nights and the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and fresh. If you want good value for this part of London, you would be hard-pressed to do better. That said, make your booking with your eyes open. Like many London hotels in this category/price bracket, it is showing its age. Cracked bathroom floor tiles, loose light fittings, interesting plumbing (slow drainage meant a shower lasting longer than 3 minutes could have resulted in a minor flood) and marked carpets all require some attention. However, I stress once again that it is perfectly comfortable and adequate. If you have booked on a room only basis, make sure that you order any breakfasts you may require for your stay AS SOON AS YOU CHECK IN. Asking after this time will result in a much higher price being charged. There are limited alternative options locally before 9am. The bar facilities etc are probably good, but they were closed throughout - only open Tuesday evening to Saturday! So, if you want hotel social facilities, check before you book. The staff were excellent. Very engaging and friendly and keen to help where they can. Ultimately, it is the people that lift this hotel above the standard London offering.

The check in was great, I got into my room a bit early and that was really nice. The staff were great and very accommodating. The carpet did have a bit a a musky smell, they did try to get rid of it but the carpet is old. I stayed for 6 night they never changed the sheets (wish they would have at least once) but I did get fresh towels each day.

Good price. Baggage storage. Room was clean but needed updating. Hotel is generally starting to look a bit tired. Staff were polite / efficient. Our rooms were ready before checking in time, breakfast was great value ( with pre pay ) with lots of choice. (coffee machine could have been hotter). Easy access to the tube.

We had a fair sized room with double bed, couldn't fault the size or the bed. The room was quite dirty, the ceiling had a damp stain, the draw on one of the bedside tables was broken, not that we use the drawers but first impressions count. The one thing that threw me off was the 8:30 am wake up call on our last day, asking us what time we were checking out, this is something that could have been asked at check in, then I would have a decent lay in before my hefty day of travelling home.

Wish they wouldn't use single use plastics for the toiletries

As other reviews indicate, this is a very tired hotel and one that is not worthy of its 4 star rating. Our room was tired, with the bathroom door handle hanging off; and a sparse, uninviting room. Awful smell of damp/ mould as you enter the guest rooms area from the lobby. On the plus side, the staff were all very friendly and polite.

The good: big room, centrally located, excellent staff, comfortable bed, good shower, fridge in room The less good: Dated hotel, needs new carpets etc, frosted room windows.

Nicely positioned close to Gloucester Rd underground station; museums within walking distance; a few very nice eateries and a Waitrose. Lovely staff, very nice breakfast choice (though the coffee from a machine was awful!) overall warm and bright. The twin room we had was small and needs a deep clean and decorating but the beds were comfy and the shower was very hot. The noise from the rain pouring from the gutters into the yard below was extremely noisy and kept me awake most of the 3 nights we stayed. No lift up to our room was difficult as my husband is disabled and struggled with the stairs, we booked online so had no choice and to be fair, we didn’t ask to move rooms so not sure if this would have been an option. I would stay again as it was so convenient for where we wanted to be in the city and the staff were nice.

A hotel that I cannot fault and I regularly stay at due to it's cleanliness, facilities and location.

Couldnt check in until after 4pm. We had a small room on top floor which wasnt the best.No bottled water or biscuits in room and basic tea bags with no choice. Breakfast was good.Staff all very friendly. Overpriced for the sort of room.

Wonderful hotel with a very gentle staff. I loved everything about the hotel and its location so near Gloucester station.

A good London hotel for a short stay, rooms are small but comfortable. We were in a room facing the main road so couldn’t leave the window open at night but the AC in the room was so noisy we couldn’t leave that on either. There are 5 floors and only 2 lifts, as one of those was out of service there were very long waits in the morning

It is very convenient and central. It is walkable. It is in a great area. Supermarkets and several dining options are within a 4-6 minute walking distance. Great breakfast. Even if you don't opt for it while booking the room, take the discounted offer while checking in—good value for money. The underground is a 4-minute walk—the Piccadilly line is direct to Heathrow.

Belt greit.

This is NOT a 4 star hotel. The staff were pleasant and location is great but that is all that was good about it. The physical condition of the hotel is in desparate need of renovation. The carpets smell and are filthy with large stains and in some cases are threadbare in areas. Walls are in need of paint. There was a leak in the ceiling of our shower where water came pouring out of the light fixture when the guest on the floor above had a shower. We were moved to a different room that was so small there was very little room to put our luggage. The windows in the new room weren't sound proof and despite being on the top floor and having the windows closed, we could hear conversations of people walking by on the sidewalk below. One of 2 elevators was out of service, and the dinner restaurant was closed. Not a hotel I would recommend to anyone. There are far nicer and much cleaner options in the area.

The hotel is not what i expected from a Frasers hospitality hotel. Room was smaller than what was shown on the picture. My toilet sink was clogged. For the price i paid, i could have gotten a better hotel.

Their executive floor was in lower ground floor and room condition was terrible also thete was quite high humidity so in over all we are not going to stay at this property

This hotel is very convenient brcause close to Gloucester Road Station and not so expensive.

Wonderful location. Good bar. Great staff. Big clean room.

What a dump. This place should be avoided if you can help it. Unpleasant experience from the start. Staff urgently need customer service training. Rooms need renovation. Line of people complaining for one reason or another in the morning. Aircon heater so noisey you cant sleep, but room so cold you must have it on. 2 extra blanekts required as glass so thin, you can feel the breeze from outside. Go somewhere else

The room was at the basement of the hotel; old and dirty carpets met our eyes as we proceeded down the basement. Upon first glance of the room we were met with dirty stain riddled carpet, an old and decrepit couch, with holes hidden behind the tv. Had to have maintenance take a look and clean the vent that looked to be clogged with dirt of at least a year if not longer. The highlights were the bed and shower.

The only thing that was little bad , was smell in the room after the cleaning service

Posh area of London but very reasonable room prices! I only stayed one night in a twin bed room but I would absolutely book again in the future. The bed was comfortable, the room was small but sufficient for a night. Bathroom and shower were very clean and good water pressure in the shower. The hotel is very nice and I enjoyed my one night stay.
