Underwhelming and not what we were expecting at all.

Stayed for 2 nights and this hotel is in an excellent location with the added bonus of free breakfast. Parking was expensive at $60 a night but we felt safer parking there.

The location is great and is walkable to the piers. The checkin was easy and staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was tidy and was spacious. The only downside was the soundproofing. We could hear the room above us walking around, could hear everyone in the hallways and could hear traffic right through the night. So sleep was hard to come by at times.

Fantastic location at Fisherman’s Wharf. The staff is world class! The lobby is spacious and has a really great bar that is very popular with the guests. The really amazing part is their absolutely incredible complimentary breakfast! The room was very clean, freshly decorated and comfortable although the bathroom was a little tight on space. Would suggest you bring your own bathroom tissue because what they provide is so thin it starts dissolving when you take it off the roll, haha. Besides that very minor complaint the hotel was fantastic!

We stayed at the Riu for part of our honeymoon. The location is great in Fisherman’s Wharf. Close proximity to restaurants, piers and cable cars. I don’t think the hotel was worth the cost of $1,000 CAD for two nights. It was a tad run down, no hot tub, no robes, no water as you enter, no balcony, small shower and bathroom. we were on the main floor which was loud and no view.

Delightful hotel in a prime location. Stay out of Union Square and stay here. Room was very nice and clean. No complaints here.

Perfect and clean

Only complaint is that our bathroom smelled like urine (extremely bad). We have stayed here about 5 times with no problems.

We were especially impressed with breakfast. They have an excellent hot/cold selection and good service. All employees of the hotel are friendly and efficient.

Was perfect for what we wanted to do. Walked where we wanted to go. Getting hooked up to wifi took way to long and too complicated

Hotel was in a great position to access the sights in San Francisco, either on foot or public transport if like us you don’t have a car. The inclusive breakfast was great, good selection from fruit, cereal, eggs, bacon, toast etc. we were amazed at how friendly and organised the service was at breakfast and how quickly the queue for a table went down. Bar area was nice with a good selection of beers. Patio was nice but no real view and I don’t think it would have got any sun, but not a problem for us as we spent most of the day out and about.

The pictures do not represent what you’re going to walk into. This place was gross. For the money we were thoroughly disappointed and honestly, I expect a refund at this point. You can hear everything going on next-door you in these thin walls as well. It was gross.

This was our first time staying at the Riu hotel, and when we arrived there was chaos at check-in as the payment systems had gone down and payment could only be completed via a link or in cash, however the staff were working hard to resolve the issue, and were very apologetic for the delay in getting checked in. The hotel lobby is modern and offers a very convenient grab-and-go food service with reasonably priced hot and cold food and drinks, ideal for when you want something easy after a long flight, or you don't want to pay for a food delivery to the hotel. The room itself was a little dated, however was very clean with a comfortable bed. Be warned that the air conditioning unit in the room is VERY loud - fine for us as we don't mind white noise, but this may bother other guests. The location of the hotel is very convenient for fisherman's wharf, around a 5 minute walk to the start of the wharf, and conveniently located for transport to Pier 39/Alcatraz landing/the Ferry Building Market. The breakfast offering is also delicious and extensive, just bear in mind that there may be a short queue to enter the dining area.

Riu is conveniently located close to Pier 39 tons of cafes and shops. The bar & restaurant staff are super friendly! The only down side was the garbage collection at 5 am, it was pretty noisy but I guess it comes with city life. I would stay again, just on a different side.

This hotel is ideally positioned for Fisherman’s Wharf and is a short walk from many attractions. The hotel is adequate. Disappointingly it doesn’t have a restaurant for evening meals so if you were a solo female traveller not wishing to walk the streets in the dark this would annoy you. The breakfast is really very good but gets very busy even in a weekday. The room was large and comfortable. Our view was of a bus garage/car park and it did get noisy at times but not at night. The bar area is not particularly relaxing; it’s a bit loud and plays sports on the tv. The grab and go is convenient. Ask for a room on a high level and not overlooking the main entrance. There is an outside patio area with heaters and it gets noisy.

Good value stay close to all attractions. Breakfast busy, but well managed. Staff friendly and knowledgeable

Excellent reception during check in. Room was clean, updated, love the large bath towels and comfortable bed!

We love staying at the RIU feels like home and comforting. Staff are great and helpful. Kudos to Sean and group as well as the breakfast staff. RIU does not disappoint!

I wanted to like this property but the rooms didn’t live up to the reception area. They were a bit dated. The parking garage could not accommodate our Tahoe which was higher than 6’. We had to park elsewhere and pay $65 per night.

Our stay was great. The hotel was able to get us a ride to the airport for 2:45am, and the staff and service was fantastic in answering any questions we had about the area. Will definetly book through them when we and if we go back.

Really nice bed. Very small washroom. Hollow ceiling/floors made it very easy to hear people walking upstairs. Very good breakfast.

Not the best stay I’ve had, for the price of the hotel I’d expected a great experience, check in took 45 minutes and I had dirty towels when I went into my room.

Great location for 4th July fireworks and tourist attractions in general. Excellent pool and sunbeds. Shame about the room location with road/traffic/pedestrian noise through the night.

We loved our stay at Hotel Riu Fisherman's Wharf. It was convenient to everything, the staff was very helpful, the free breakfast had everything you'd want and was delicious, and the room was bright and clean!

Very rude concierge staff that checked us in. While the hotel itself appeared very nice, our A/C would not work and we all slept terribly, waking up in the middle of the night sweating. Housekeeping was knocking on the door at 9am to try to clean our room waking us up. Prior to checking in, the staff member I spoke to about possibly upgrading was also not very friendly either. Breakfast was very good though. The manager did extend our parking privileges an extra 20 minutes to avoid an extra day charge, which was nice. Overall I can say the hotel is nice and management is accommodating but A/C needs repairing and staff needs more training on proper customer service.

It was a good spot to stay only for one night. We noticed our room was wheelchair accessible (roll in shower) yet at the very far end of the building. Since we're able bodied, it didn't bother me, but I think that's discriminatory to put the ADA compliant rooms so far from the elevators. Oh, the accessible bathroom didn't have any space to put our toiletries on....

Nice Hotel. but you breakfast area is way to small. Even 8 o’clock in the morning it’s like a trainstation in rush hour !!!

Amazing convenient can’t wait for next time

I enjoyed the stay. The outside neighborhood was somewhat scary. The water pressure in the shower was very low. Other then these 2 things, it was a good stay. Friendly staff and very accommodating.
