The hotel is blatantly lying about their amenities! During an unusual heat wave in Tromso we spent time searching on Expedia (on our own and to ensure accuracy with an Expedia representative) for a hotel that that has air conditioning. The hotel lists as amenities provided air conditioning, which was also confirmed by the Expedia representative with the hotel before we made the reservation. At check in, we learned that there is no actual air conditioning in the rooms, only a centralized confort system, which doesn’t really do anything. It was late in the day, so we took the room, only to have a really unpleasant 4 nights. Top that with the fact that the hotel is quite old and poorly maintained, kitchen closed (had to walk across street to another hotel for breakfast) and this stay in their pricey “exceptional” room was totally not worth and a scam.

The room conditions is aged, the hotel try to renovate room, by the way the location charge about $30 extra for the room face the habit The free dinner option was high light for the stay, it would be 5 star if the room conditions were good

Centrally located on the Tromsø harbour. Minutes away from shopping street and bus stations. Clean and spacious room. The included fika and dinner was nice, the breakfast was outstanding.

Hotel in great location and good sized room. Small gym and sauna on site. The restaurant wasn't open during our stay however we were provided with breakfast and dinner at the Clarion Hotel directly opposite so wasn't a big inconvenience.

Great location! Easy to get around Tromso and the staff was super helpful. Breakfast and dinner included were nice but not outstanding. They could take a lesson from the Clarion in Oslo for more fresh food and less salt. But really no complaints!

Dirty room, services in a hotel where closed, rooms where not ready until 3pm. Room door wasn't very tight so noice and light came through.

I liked the meals that came with the room and the restaurant staff. No hesitation to provide a vegan alternative.

Fantastic location for public transport. Stayed for 3 nights during easter break. The wifi in room 305 didn’t work properly reported to the reception but there was no one to look at it due to the easter break.

Great hotel centrally located serviced by an express coach service direct from the airport. The staff were friendly and exceptionally accommodating. The room and food were excellent. Also great value for money.

Enjoyable stay. Really worth upgrading to superior room with view over the harbour. One night the aurora was visible right over head. Good to have included breakfast, tea with cake and light supper which made stay good value , although currently happening at sister hotel across the street it was not a problem. Close to airport bus drop off too

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Clarion Collection hotel and I must say, it was a mixed experience. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location with stunning harbour views, making it a great spot for those looking to enjoy the beauty of the waterfront. One of the standout features of the hotel is its friendly staff. The majority of the staff members were welcoming, helpful, and made my stay pleasant. The service was top-notch and I felt well taken care of during my time at the hotel. The food at the hotel was also a highlight. The meals were delicious and well-prepared, offering a variety of options to cater to different tastes. I particularly enjoyed the buffet spread, which had a good selection of dishes to choose from. However, the rooms at the Clarion Collection were a bit of a letdown. While they were clean, they were also quite dated in terms of decor and furnishings. The room could definitely use some modernization to enhance the overall comfort and aesthetics. One particular incident that stood out during my stay was the interaction with a staff member named Hilda. Unfortunately, Hilda was very unhelpful and seemed quite miserable. Additionally, I observed her loading a huge plate of food from the buffet, which was a bit off-putting. Overall, the Clarion Collection offers a great location with friendly staff and delicious food. However, the dated rooms and the negative experience with one staff member detracted from an otherwise enjoyable stay.

We loved our stay, celebrating our wedding anniversary, stayed for 3 nights, fab location really central, lovely room on the 5th floor overlooking the water, even got to see the northern lights from our room, breakfast was amazing, tea and coffee on the go all day. Would definitely stay hear again

Really great hotel, central right by the waterfront. Hotel offers breakfast and evening meal and i have to say the evening meal was really nice buffet. Tea, coffee and water all day and night and they do cake and coffee every afternoon, such a really nice touch. The only flaw to the bedroom is there are only 4 hangers and no other space to put your clothes. Apart from that i would reccommend this hotel.

This hotel has character and is very central. The staff are friendly and helpful - one even plays the guitar soothingly in the early evening. The breakfast and afternoon cake were great, but the evening meal was very hit and miss. Overall, I thought it was reasonable value for money.

Friendly staff, clean room and the under floor heating in the bathroom was amazing. Convenient location and lovely views. Would have liked an option for dinner as wasn’t very child friendly and also the sofa bed was not very comfy but overall an enjoyable stay

Exceptional facilities. The staff was extremely friendly, especially Teddy who works the afternoon /evening shift. He's quite the guitar player also. Honestly, the hotel exceed my expectations. The fika was great, the evening dinner ( which was very tasteful and better than some of rhe local restaurants) is the biggest bonus. I would highly recommend and will be visiting again.

This is the NICEST hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I have stayed twice. The staff are amazing the breakfast plentiful with an evening meal as well. Right in the centre of town. Just a perfect place.

A perfect location for our short stay in Tromso. A lovely little hotel, serving breakfast, cake in the afternoon and dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the chef accommodating of dietary requirements. Glad we chose this over the bigger hotels as had a much nice feel. Just 15 mins from the airport on the shuttle bus.

Nice quiet hotel , we had a room with a view in the habour, breskfast a dinner was good. Only the bed eas a bit small for two . 🙂

It was a lovely and clean property. All the staff were very friendly. There was a good choice on the buffet breakfast. The afternoon cake was very nice. The evening meals were hit and miss for what I like. The room was clean and a lovely view of the harbour. The only downside is there is no safe facility or nowhere to put any clothes except 4 coat hangers and 2 coat hooks. We had to live out of the suitcases and only one suitcase holder to store a case. I had to put the other one under the table. That knocks a star off
