Southwind is a beautiful property, obviously much loved. So comfortable and the furnishings were amazing. Great antique but sturdy and comfortable as well as beautiful. Had a very cozy feel although it was a spacious home. The pool made it fantastic! everything was very clean and worked very well. The pool sparkled and there were extra floats already there. Extremely infteresting books avail (if I could afford it, would book a few days just to read through the library). Every kitchen appliance known was stocked and great quantities of silverware, plates, etc. Beautiful landscaping, plenty of running room and the pond in the front yard. Close to town but you feel like you are away from all of that. Highly reccomend this property for your family getaway. Bone up on ROKU tv and take your passwords with you.

Located not far from the home were many attractions to see and fun activities for the whole family. Babyland and Hensel&Gretel being two of our favorites. We had a great trip and would love to go back again at a later date.

Reviewer Comments: We appreciated the prompt response from the management reference the few issues we had.When the toilet next to the stairs overflowed on Christmas Eve (our first night stay) they sent someone on Christmas Day to check it out. Also they sent a plumber the day after when the bathroom toilets and bathtubs in the first floor were not draining properly. Probably due to the heavy rain and full septic system the master bathroom toilet had a moldy smell and it was loose.The house was mostly an enjoyable place to stay, however it is very outdated, the mattresses were clean but way too soft and there were many pieces of old furniture that made the house look like the owners left or passed on and it is being rented almost as is. I would also suggest that you bring kitchen cleaning items such as dish rags, towels, sponges and disinfection solution to properly clean the counters and stove. They did provide one tiny sponge, a tiny bottle of dish soap and dish pods for the dishwasher, however if you plan on using the kitchen as we did for most every meal you will need more cleaning supplies. Most of the days we stayed there it rained heavily and we were not able to get outside, however the outdoors area with the small lake and swimming pool looked beautiful and inviting. Again we appreciated the great and timely communication before, during and after our stay. Thank you.

Our family had a get together … Our mom , her 4 kids & their spouses … it’s been a few years, some traveled from Virginia, some from Florida & some Alabama… can’t wait for our next adventure!!! The house was perfect & so was the property ❤️😄🙏

We all felt property was fair but could really be a gem. The outside needed a good power washing and pool needs work as liner was coming out of sides (needs liner lock). Shower curtain liners could be thicker and fit better. Chairs or benches around fire pit would be nice. There were no instructions for wood stove operation. The bedrooms were nice, as was dining space, living room and bathrooms. The pool deck had adequate tables and chairs for sitting outside. The house was very dated and could use updating but all in all we enjoyed our stay. We did have plumbing issue but repairs were handled promptly and I am sure owners will rectify the major repairs recommended as waiting for repairs cost us a half day of sightseeing in the area. We would not stay here again but think with some TLC this place could be a gold mine.
