Location was convenient for shopping and sightseeing

All good, especially the location next to the train station and a short walk to the bus station needed early next morning.
But my nights stay was interrupted at 2am by a water leak from the room above which continued all early morning making it very difficult to sleep.
Reported it first thing to a property manager who seemed concern but there was no move to compensate for the situation ( a free breakfast as I was up already or something similar).
Good have been a very good stay except for a that problem which did put a different complexion on the hotel. Reception check in and out was ok but not particularly welcoming.

This hotel needs a serious make over. The room we had did not feel clean, bed was clean and comfortable but thats about it. The windows were so dirty you could only just see the alleyway below. The decor is old and outdated and peeling, an old radiator is still on the wall. It was only one night so we accepted it but was disappointed!
I'm told there are better rooms on the 2nd floor, maybe they are making their way to the 3rd floor?
As far as we could see the only thing going for this hotel is the railway station so close and being in the middle of town!!

I booked 2 single night stays this month. In both cases I booked a ‘standard double’ room and on both occasions they tried to give me a ‘cozy’ double. It was changed when I pointed out the issue but on the second occasion the room was still tiny. Making the same error twice appears deliberate.

Enjoyed our stay, everything very good. Great location for the shops.

Super amazing hotel. Right in the middle of city center. Next to public transportation and the rail line is right there. Staff is friendly and welcoming. It has a grand stair case that is well noticeable as you walk in. Highly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic venue. Convenient location: a very short walk from the train station and right in the city centre.
Food and service in restaurant was excellent.
This was our second stay here and will likely be back.

The hotel and staff were fantastic. Would stay there again value for money

This is an older property with lots of charm. The room was large, comfortable and clean. I thought that it was going to be noisy because of the proximity to the train station but we never heard a train our entire stay. The on site restaurant was very good. We ate there several times during our stay. The lobby was gorgeous as pictured on the site.

It was good. The hotel is older but well maintained. The food at the Ash restaurant is very good. The hotel is well situated in Inverness, easy walking distance to the castle , cathedral and Ness walk.

Had a great stay, in a beautiful large room! Great service and friendly staff! We traveled with our dog and there was no issues. Inverness is a beautiful place to visit and bring your dog!
Only low point was that sleep was interrupted from loud outside noise as we stayed on a Saturday night, before running the marathon, (could be helped with double glazing?) Continental breakfast was disappointing.
Nevertheless really liked the hotel and would stay here again, but maybe with earplugs.

Adequate facilities and amenities and right next to the train station. You cannot find a more convenient hotel than this one.

It’s right next to the train station, so you cannot find a more convenient hotel than this one. The facilities and amenities provided are adequate.

A beautiful historic hotel where we chose to stay after a journey on the Caledonian Sleeper as the entrance is a matter of yards from the station entrance. The staff were friendly, professional and knowledgeable if a question was asked of them. I was a little concerned that continental breakfast was standard, but it was extremely extensive with cereals, pastries, meats, fruits, various cofffes and tea from the two machines. There was a also a good selection for a number of allergies/intolerances without having to make a special request. It is worth noting that it is an independent hotel and not owned by any chain; this counts for a lot in my book. All-in-all an excellent experience and we will definitely stay again if we return to Inverness.

Great place to stay. Loved the location and room was comfortable.

Rooms need to be updated. Floors need to be redone. Creek a lot. Service in the bar is slow. Breakfast quality is so so. Food in the restaurant was ok

A classic old school hotel, even had an actual key for the room - don’t change a thing!

The hotel has charm from once before. It's clear that more maintenance and upkeep is needed. Although we had a window right next to the train station, we didn't hear much noise during the night.

No hot water in shower even next night after reporting. Dining wait staff didn’t have much knowledge of menu items

The property has a convenient location, but the room was disappointingly small and uncomfortably hot. The lobby stands out as the most appealing part of the hotel. Unfortunately, the receptionist was not very welcoming and offered no information about the local area. To top it off, we were charged more than our original booking price, which was both unexpected and frustrating.

The breakfast was only average

The rooms were great. They were clean and they had everything we needed. The bar wasn't as good. We ordered a couple of mixed drinks which they got completely wrong. Luckily, I think they knew because they gave them to us for free. There wasn't parking right outside but I loved all the shops and pubs that were so close.

Great hotel next to the station, room was clean and comfortable

Great location. Attractive lobby with staircase. Poor restaurant service. Included breakfast very minimal. No I’ve unless you go ask at the restaurant where they snarl at you. No housekeeping for short stays unless you request on that day. Not sure if I’d return.

A mixed bag. Our first room was stuffy, slightly stale with no opening windows or aircon in early August. Fan provided to move stuffy air around. Spoke to reception and was moved to a room that had opening windows and room was in a better condition. Would have liked to make use of restaurant in evening but menu was impossible to locate.

Well located hotel right next to the railway station. We stayed one night before walking the Great Glen Way from Inverness to Fort William. The hotel met all of our needs and we were able to check in early.

Nice hotel but very dated, rooms need huge upgrade poor decor, original room was so small we had to move

This hotel was great. The staff was accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Excellent location

Upstairs was creepy with dark halls ( lights were motion activated). When getting off the elevator no lights were on and it was off-putting to move into a totally dark area
1.5 / 5.0
Staff person at check in was rude. Rooms don't have air conditioning and couldn't open windows. A fan was provided. Beds were comfortable. Room was very clean. Hotel is dated but that's to be expected because it is historical. Location was great!

Quite possibly the smallest broom closet I have ever stayed in. Likely because I booked through expedia that we got the smallest room ever. The window would not open to let in fresh air. Very stuffy and warm
at night, and thats saying a lot for Scotland.

Conveniently located right by the train station, quaint little room, nice & clean
