The balcony, bathroom floor and shower floor were visibly very dirty. Egg omelet at breakfast was undercooked, now I know why it was free. Got a harbor view and the room we got was a weird side room with an ok view of the harbor. Wish more was visible. Staff were very friendly. The hotel just seemed dirty and run down. The area around and staff made the experience better.

They gave us the best room they had. An end unit with a view. I thought it was a different kind of hotel so it’s partially my fault for booking the wrong place. This place had nice comfortable beds and it was modern. The hotel phone didn’t work and I couldn’t reach the front desk to ask a question or get room service, When I tried to call the main number from my cell phone I got a ‘call failed’ message. I was in a frustrated and hungry mood. I felt uncomfortable staying in a place with no way to call room service so I left within an hour after I had already paid for the room. Naturally it was not refunded. On the way out I asked the manager about not being able to reach the front desk. She asked why I would be calling the front desk? I responded to ask about food for example. She replied they don’t provide that kind of service. So my take away is that the Holiday Inn Express is basically like a motel in a nicer environment. The room had a fridge, a Kurig style coffee pot, a balcony, and is pet friendly. But you’re on your own for any type of service you may need. The only place I knew of to order delivery was a local pizza place, but they had an hour wait. We were so exhausted and hungry having been evacuated from our home due to of a fire in our area. Just needed to refuel and relax but couldn’t get comfortable being unable to make a call to the front desk or find any food so we left. I probably would have stayed for 2 days even though the evacuation order was lifted.

Love the location with a harbor view with balcony. Employees were polite. Room was clean & bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Parking cost $12. Hotel was quiet. This is our 2nd stay there. We will return.

Our room jas a flood in rhe bathroom night of check-in. The front desk was advised but was not cleaned. The rooms was uncleaned and smelled of sewer upon returning on second day. We want our refund.

We stayed two separate nights on the way out to the Channel Islands and when we got back. Everything was lovely. The place was clean. The entry of the far building smelled like sewage, but everything else was great. The second stay we booked on the way there. We had to wait almost 30 minutes to get checked in. Everything else was nice though.

Right on the marina. We were able to walk to dinner. Conveniently located for our needs. Very clean, comfortable, and quiet.

Clerk could not find my reservation. Although eventually was able to check in.

The hotel is okay. Clean and nice view. However, itinerary stated 3pm check-in but when i got there they told me check in was at 4. Room was not ready till almost 5pm. The bathroom door was really hard to open and close. The bathroom faucet was really hard to turn on as well. Probably wont return unless its a last minute thing.

While checking in at the posted check in time, I was told that I was an hour earlier than check in time. I said the information on the reservation said 3pm and she said they changed it to 4 because they couldn’t get all the rooms ready by 3.
Then she started to charge me for parking, even though my receipt said the posted amount included everything. No extra charges.
The ice machines didn’t work on the first and second floors. The body wash in the shower was just about empty and hard to get anything out.
On the positive side, the beds were comfortable, the shower was good, and the breakfast was above average.

The wife and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. After the first night, I ask the front desk why our room was not made up, I was told they were short on staff and that they would do it that night, we came back from dinner and towels and wash cloths were left on our unmade beds the third day after coming back from a bicycle ride on the harbor Harbor room was not made up towels on the floor where I left them that morning. I asked the lady behind the desk. She said I’m sorry, but we’re short on staff, we had stayed here in June for a graduation and they were short on staff then. I paid for the room well in advance got very little service. I will try to never go there again very poor management, Paul Howard.

Hotel was so much nicer than I anticipated. We had great views of the harbor from our room. The room was very big and spacious. The location was awesome and an easy walk to the harbor village where there were many restaurants, shops, live music. We stayed there because we planned a day trip to the channel islands. Wish we had more time to explore the surrounding areas and Ventura. We loved what we saw in the little time that we had. Sea cave kayaking off of Santa Cruz island is a must do!!!

At check in, the front staff seemed stressed and we were given minimal information about the facilities. The room was comfortable and the view was great.

The hotel overall was not in good condition. Very old and “creaky”. The room however was updated nicely. I definitely felt like we had a great suite. The room itself was not clean as a hotel room should be. The remote for the TV was disgusting, the curtain rails on the ceiling were broken off so when we pulled the curtains closed we felt like they were going to pull all the way off. The bathroom was not cleaned sufficiently and the odor the entire property had was offputting to say the least.

Check in is 4 pm. But you would only know that if you go to their website. Parking is 12.00 a night per car. Again you won't know unless you go to their website. I mentioned that the sign on their door and Hotels.com say check in is at 3 and I was told that's what happens when you book with a 3rd party vendor. The room wasn't ready and we were surprised by the parking. Front desk staff condescending and unapologetic. Apparently they have been having housekeeping issues.

Property overlooks Ventura Harbor. Easy access ro Harbor. Front Desk staff barely attends the front desk. Parking was a pain, all front parking taken, not enough of it.

I loved the location of this property. It’s perfect for doing any activities in the harbor. The staff were wonderful and the breakfast was really good. The only issue we had was with sulfur smell in the hallway in the building we were located in, but the staff were very responsive and addressing it.

Our stay was good. Our first room had a brooken screen door and we were moved immediately to a nice room with a great view. Our room.waa missing blankets and body wash but they did there best to make it better. Breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was fairly clean but the bed were hard and very uncomfortable; I wasn’t able to fall asleep due to it. The breakfast the first day was good but some guest were left hungry. As well as the next day there was no breakfast at all…it ran out almost immediately. There wasn’t enough breakfast for MANY guests. I overheard an another guest confront a worker about the lack of supplies such as soap and towels. If you just want an very minimal and average hotel to just get through the nights then this hotel is the perfect fit for you. I wouldn’t recommend it though for comfort….
