Repeat hotels.com gold member . Nice rooms, good bathroom, kitchen and sky tv. Good location. Unfortunately this night there was a group of adults in other rooms partying and rudely swearing till late. Still was a good stay and will be back again

The receptionist was outstanding. Such a big help when I had booked the wrong date. Expedia were not easy to get hold of and the lovely receptionist encouraged me to keep trying. It took a while to sort with Expedia but with the help from Hygate staff we were able to swap dates and stay. Relief!
I will be much more careful in future when I do any bookings to check the date. Thank you Hygate staff, much appreciated. Thanks also to Expedia.

The host was very helpful when I had queries. The room was warm, lovely towels, great pressure in the shower, comfortable bed and spacious. My only disappointment was that there was only Sky available, no "regular" tv channels unfortunately. Overall I'd recommend this motel :)

We hired two rooms, one room was absolutely great and the other had a very foul odour we couldnt sleep in there. The odour was very chemically, perhaps a previous customer spilt something and the motel used heavy chemicals to clean it.

Our unit had parallel parking and with a big Ute parked on either side it took me about 5 minutes with my wife going from back to front to judge clearances to get parked.

The only bad thing I have to say is - house keeping came around and I asked to come back in 30mins as I had just woken up and they cleaner said she will. I was gone the whole day and returned at midnight to find they did not return. We had no new towels the next morning as we checked out prior to the office opening.

It was a pleasant surprise to see the inside of The Hygate Motel. Clean and inviting, good value for money and the staff were lovely and friendly. One of the best motels I’ve stayed in.

Stayed again here as always welcoming. Will stay again. The room this time was opposite side as previous times and appeared older and needs a bit of updating with couple small issues. The jetted tub and kitchen a winner. Very comfy bed and comes with sky channels. As a hotels.com gold member, i recommend this hotel but ill definitely be requesting to be in rooms i previously stayed as a loyal guest so can enjoy updated rooms to be able to promote to others.

They had given my room to someone else so had to stand around for 20 minutes for them to sort it out. Didnt get the other person to check details on the check in sheet used the excuse thatbthey were old. If they had got to check it they would seen that the details were wrong. Then had people knocking at tje door at 8.30pm trying to get us to move our car.

Winter time. No electric blankets and summer sheets.had to pay a bond before getting the key then it took 3 days to get bond refunded. Male at counter was arrogant. Motel being used for emergency homing for Kainga Ora, this was not disclosed at time of booking.

Needed a place to stay travelling down from whangārei (from 5pm). Found this, booked online, and they were happy to be there past their 9pm normal checkin time (we arrived 9.20). Everything was clean, shower was great. Good place to stay. Would recommend if you need some place basic, functional

2nd stay here, this trip was 6 of us so booked 2 rooms. Studio and jetted tub 1 br, unfortunately the jets werent working and were advised after , we were offered to change rooms but us being Christian and were making lunch, the ladies didnt want to make cleaners have to clean again. Pity tho as was a special trip to thank the ladies for a course we did. Will stay again tho as is a nice place to stay
