This is a beautifully refurbished building, quality decor throughout, food was excellent and we had attentive service from all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. They accommodated the late amendment to our booking and we were made to feel very welcome. Would definitely return again.

It’s a nice inn in a small quiet village with beautiful views if you explore the area. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel. If you are an American who will not be driving, no Uber coverage. We found the hard way. I suggest to add it in the description about no Uber coverage but there is a taxi which needs to be pre-booked, it can get busy. We tried to call a taxi, we were told by the taxi company that they will not be able to pick us up from the hotel until 4 hours later. It’s a nice place, just need to know those details. We didn’t get much help from the reception about getting a taxi or about Uber.

Nicely renovated historic property, but there is no air conditioning and the windows in our room were painted shut. A hot, stuffy room is just not pleasant.

Very cozy designed spaces with attention to detail. Lovely comfortable bed with great shower ! Good restaurant for dinner and lovely breakfast. A very pleasant stay!

This is a very nice little hotel in a great location for activities in the Peaks. Hotel is well decorated and looks recently refurbished. Room was comfy and well decked out although the specific one we had was a little noisy due to the proximity to the kitchen cooling units outside. We had a 3 course meal with drinks and breakfast; the food was excellent throughout. They could do with one extra member of staff as people seemed to be working the front desk, dining, bar etc, all at the same time, even on a quiet Sunday morning. Nothing detracted, however, and it was a really pleasant overnight stay. Highly recommended!

The hotel combines the charm of an old building with the quality of experience you would expect from a modern hotel. Attention has clearly been paid to delivering a high quality customer experience. The rooms are equipped to a high standard; there is a varied and interesting menu both at breakfast and dinner and there is a clear commitment to sustainability.

From the staff who couldn’t do enough for you and always had a smile on their faces, to the stunning food, the beautiful and comfortable rooms and the picture perfect location, this hotel is an absolute gem. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful break.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location with helpful and pleasant staff. Had an evening meal which was very good as was the breakfast. Only criticism was the size of the room which was compact and thin towels in need of replacing. Neither of which would prevent me from returning or recommending it to others.

Only recently opened so some minor teething problems with service, but overall very very good, food excellent and great value for money

Excellent suite. Welcoming staff. It was a Friday evening and the restaurant was noisy and a bit short-staffed. Great location in a quiet pretty village a couple of miles from Bakewell.

Chose the hotel for its close proximity to the trail - so glad we did and upgraded to suite. The whole experience was wonderful from the welcome, food and drink to the excellent service. Many thanks we will see you soon.

The room was beautiful, the additional extras like Nespresso Coffee and Tea, White Company Bathroom products were all lovely. But our room was directly anove the kitchen - and the noise from the kitchen didn't stop until after 11pm and started again at 6.20am. We did request another room shortly after check in but were told there were no others spare. The hotel are obviously aware this is an issue for anyone wanting a good nights sleep but were only willing to apologise for something they already know is an issue. They could fit the room with air con so there is no need to open the window or supply ear plugs. I would be interested to know if any of the staff have actually trued a night in the room because we were made to feel it was an us issue when it is certainly a them issue.

Great little hotel. Not long since being re opened I believe. Really nice decor, great food (although a little expensive), friendly welcoming staff and the best thing was the room which was very luxurious with coffee machine, fresh teas etc all for a very reasonable price with breakfast included! Would definitely stay and recommend.

This is a stunning hotel. We had a wonderful nights stay. The rooms are beautiful.

One of the most amazing stays i have ever had. I cannot fault anything at the hotel at all. On arrival we were given the key to our room, the Devonshire Suite. The radio was softly playing as we entered and, with the claw foot bath being in the main bedroom really gave it a wow factor. It is a larger room but the careful use of mirrors makes it lighter and appear even bigger. There was not one speck of dust and everything in the room was like new. A huge TV can be angled for viewing anywhere, including the massive bed or even in the bath. There are tea and coffee facilities with individually boxed tea bagsl selection and a nespresso machine. Breakfast was included and was perfect. My husband had full english and two lattes, which arrived with little hearts in the foam and I had eggs royale with loads of quality salmon. One thing we wished we had done was spend the evening in the bar as there was a lovely roaring fire and it looked so cosy. The interior decorator really knows what quality looks like. The staff were all so amiable and helpful and I would stay again, in a heartbeat. This was a suprise overnight trip for my husband and he was overjoyed with the whole experience.
