The Space:
If you have people in your group who are particular about quality or tasteful decor, Tortuga Bay will satisfy them.
This 3-level townhome affords much privacy to couples and families alike, it is bayfront and features private patios on each level. The property boasts a gorgeous walk-in beach-style pool with palm trees and great afternoon sun overlooking the Laguna Madre Bay. There is a dedicated boat dock / slip for this unit, suitable for a flats fishing boat—please inquire for more details. At high tide you can fish from the dock or put in a stand up paddle board or kayak.
The ground floor has a bedroom with a queen bed and flat-screen TV. The back of the ground floor has a pull-out couch (full-sized) and a bunk bed (each mattress is full-sized), featuring a sturdy top bunk. Underneath is a single trundle bed which we believe to be a perfect kids space. This room includes a wet bar, mini-fridge, and flat-screen TV. Step directly out to the patio and pool area. There is a shared full bath on this floor and a full washer/dryer setup (detergent not provided).
The 2nd floor features the kitchen, half bath, bar area with 3 stools, and dining table that flows into the living room overlooking the bay with another patio. The living room is bright and uplifting with ample space for entertaining. There is also a pull-out couch in the living room & we provide an airbed & pump for extra sleeping space – just please bring bedding if you plan on using the pull out or the air bed.
The 3rd floor is dedicated to a massive master suite, which occupies an entire floor of the townhome. It has dual sinks and a walk-in shower with a frameless door & great closet. The master bedroom features a king-sized bed, flat-screen TV, two easy chairs, and a desk overlooking the bay for a dedicated workspace. This spacious room is private from the rest of your group & very hard to find.
The townhome includes a dedicated boat slip for shallow sport-type boats, making it an ideal spot for fishermen especially at high tide.
The maximum number of people allowed is eight, including infants. Pets are not allowed at this fine property. Tortuga Bay does include high speed WiFI, though internet on the Island can be spotty at times.
You can launch a boat for free between Lobo del Mar and Longboards Bar. Please be aware there is no parking space for your boat nor trailer on the property – but if you inquire prior to booking we do have a plan for you.
For stays over 3 nights, our office at South Padre Island Trips located at 2600 Padre Blvd offers free linen and towel exchanges between 10 am and 4 pm and our staff are there if you need anything.
This property is within walking distance to many "south end" bars and restaurants, including Nautico, Louie's, Liam's Steakhouse, Longboards Cafe, Lobo del Mar, Coconut Jacks, and more. CVS is nearby for basic items. The location is beyond fantastic!
We provide 1 parking permit for the spot in front of the condo. Guest parking may be unavailable on weekends; if so, we recommend parking at the Post Office as it is free, well-lit, police-patrolled, and they do not tow. Parking boats/trailers there overnight is not permitted however.
One drawback is that the property is not suitable for those who dislike stairs due to multiple levels, though it offers more privacy than a single-level unit which is fantastic.
We offer off-season discounts for stays of 3 or more nights from Sept 2 to Dec 20, and active-duty military discounts as well as tackle football coach specials. Please message us for details.
Door code is provided to the cell phone on file by 3 pm day of check in.
We provide a starter pack of basic soaps, dishwasher pods, and trash bags, though these are not unlimited or replenished so please plan accordingly. Sheets, pillowcases, hand towels, bath towels, and washcloths are all provided in the rate.
Short Term Rental License Number available upon request.
