the size of the room

the room looked as if it wasn’t clean at all food was left trash everywhere my fiancé had to show the front desk and they said they’ll leave a note and we spent most of the night clean the room

I’ve stayed here previously and was happy so I returned with more guests and a bigger room to bring in the new year. It is, for lack of better words, a motel 6, no frills motel, which I’m okay with.

Upon arrival I turned on the air as Virginia was reaching 70° during January. After I decent amount of time of letting it run, I realized it wasn’t working properly. I went back to the front desk advised him that our room was not cooling off properly. That’s when I was advised that the air had been shut off throughout the building, I could only use heat. Unfortunately, since it is an upstairs room and 70° outside I wouldn’t be needing the heat. I advised the person at the front desk that I would attempt to look elsewhere for a room that offered air-conditioning. He said I only had one hour from Check In to cancel the reservation and I could either have my money back or accept a box fan for the evening. While paying over $100 for a room without air-conditioning was not ideal it was nearly impossible to find another room with the same accommodations on New Year’s Eve in Virginia Beach so I had to stay in the room instead of driving back home with my family. I did request some sort of compensation be it $10-$20 from the front desk but he told me he would need to speak to his manager and get back with me. The following day as I was checking out, I asked the new desk attendant if he had heard anything in regards to my compensation, he advised me “no”. I told him that I spoke to the gentleman yesterday that was at the desk and he was supposed to speak to the manager to get me some sort of compensation. It was at that point I found out the person at the front desk that declined the compensation was, in fact, the manager himself as per the employee at the desk at the time of checkout. With all of this being said would I stay again? Most likely now that I know what I’m getting myself into mid winter. However, I would make other accommodations if the weather was to be to warm. However, I do think they need to brush up on their business practices as I think it’s a little deceiving to not advertise lack of accommodations be it air, towels, toilet paper, etc.

Location only! nothing about this Motel will ever make me stay there again, I booked at this location because of how close it was to the beach, the pictures on their website are misleading

bathroom was not clean, shower looked so bad we couldn't take a shower, room was smelly (Trying to hide odors with air freshener, bed kept sinking in the middle causing hip pain, toilet is too small for adults, complex was not clean, pool not open.
