It was my second visit, and I am confident that I will return for a third time. I am a frequent traveler, and I must confess that this hotel is an extraordinary establishment, not only within the realm of England but genuinely throughout Europe. I could engage in a discussion regarding the aspects that accentuate its uniqueness the most, but that would fail to adequately convey the enchantment that this place can instill within you.
The location is superb, even for those traveling without a car - delightful proximity within walking distance to the prominent attractions of the esteemed Peak District. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and adorned with distinctive designs, offering delightful vistas of the garden. The cuisine is excellent, presenting a menu that one could only dream of (I must confess, I would go to great lengths to procure the butter for personal use). However, all of these attributes would merely be satisfactory were it not for the mention of the fabulous individuals who diligently craft this masterpiece each day. Their exceptional kindness, combined with their unwavering professionalism and eagerness to ensure that your time at the Hall is nothing short of magnificent, sets this place apart. I would like to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to the owners, Susan and Neil, their exceptional kindness, unwavering care, and gracious hospitality deserve special recognition!
Having experienced a second visit, I must express that I felt a sense of homecoming rather than merely staying in a hotel. Perhaps it is solely my perception, but one can never truly know until they experience it for themselves.
nothing at all, please never change!

The food, the level of service, the grounds, the room.
They should invest in air conditioning. We would’ve stayed a couple of days longer but sleeping was rough due to the heat and the lack of A/C.

Excellent location, friendly staff, food was excellent
after our meal, myself and my wife went to the lounge to relax and have another drink. there was no staff around to look after us or even ask us if we wanted anything. when someone did come along they ignored us. when i went to talk to them they looked the other way and walked off.

The entire experience at the beautiful house, the interior and gardens along with the attentive, friendly staff
made this a delightful break. The breakfast was exceptional.
We could only stay one night! due to our schedule.

The location and the staff and the building all great.
£367 for one night - bluntly it is good, but not this good! In my opinion/experience, it is overpriced by £100 / £120 per night to other hotels I've stayed at. Also the bed was very uncomfortable (way too soft and spongy).

Breakfast and dinner was fabulous! Accommodation very comfortable. Staff were very attentive and the chef was exceptional.
Would have liked to stay in the main house but did not realise there were garden rooms outside where guests can also be accommodated, will call and ask to be placed in the main house next time.

The room was great. Breakfast was good. The staff are lovely and very welcoming. It is 10 mins from chatsworth which is ideal.
In general the accommodation is very nice indeed.
We had only one real problem. We had dinner in the evening and the food was good except it was way too salty. Some of elements of some of the dishes were so salty as to be inedible. This is not new. Were visited some years ago and now remember it was the same before. It was so bad as to make unlikely that we will return.

I absolutely adore this place, I felt in love with it from first sight and will come back. I have decided to have a little break before Christmas, and I could not choose a better place to get myself in the festive mood. The hall was beautifully decorated and one could feel like a child during the Christmas Day throughout the entire stay. The room was charming and warm, the view was breathtaking, and the bed was so comfortable, that for a moment I was sure I am back in my own bed. The staff was exceptional, I have never met anybody so friendly and helpful, thank you for making my stay absolutely marvellous. I loved the gardens as well, they are beautiful and well kept. Cannot wait to be back in spring time!
I think everything have exceeded my expectations.

all good

Lovely room kept beautifully. Fresh milk in the room. Nice grounds. Well made smoked haddock and good full English breakfast for those that are meat eaters.
Amuse bouche before breakfast... Who wants to eat a creamy Panna Cotta as a 'palate cleanser' before bacon and eggs? To cheffy methinks.
Not great breakfast for vegetarians and we had emailed in advance to check. Berries was the only option. Although on day 1 of a 3 day stay we were told the vegetarian option was basically the full English without the bacon, sausage or black pudding.

Reservations lady went the extra mile..

On the whole the experience was good take it up another notch by some more personalised touches..

Lovely grounds and garden
We stayed during the heat wave & asked if we could eat our dessert (final part of the evening meal) outside as the dining room was full and getting very hot. We were told we couldn’t . Really really disappointed after spending £250 on dinner that we weren’t ‘allowed’ to eat the final course outside, which was just the other side of the window we were sat in anyway! Not what I’d expect !
