Location was great. House was wonderful. The only difficulty is one of the bedrooms is downstairs. My parents who are in their '70s definitely had difficulty with the stairs, and the downstairs bathroom is shared with the host. We did not want to intrude in her personal space

My friends and I came here for Montréal Pride and found this place to be quite perfect! The rooms were comfortable and clean, the outside spaces were relaxing, and the host is very friendly and easy to communicate with.
It’s also very close to the metro so we were anywhere in the city within 10/15 mins. The neighborhood is beautiful and safe. And a big grocery store is a block away!
I highly recommend you stay here- we will definitely be returning!

While the property met our needs, there were a few challenges.
To be more specific, there was only one bathroom that was in the upstairs portion of the property. This made staying in the lower portion a bit challenging during the night if the use of the bathroom was needed. (Utilizing the 3rd bedroom.)
Additionally, parking was a little challenging due to the nature of parking in the city. For while we were informed that we could park in the neighbors parking area, there was an additional charge associated with this if elected.
Other than these two points of challenge, the property was well located, quite comfortable, and very welcoming.

Our family travelled to Montreal to explore the city and attend the Jazz Festival. We were looking for a place to stay and really prefer to stay at a VRBO as opposed to a hotel. More flexibility, more space. This time we decided to stay at this wonderful place. From the minute we booked it , we were contacted by the host and told that whatever we need, just let her know. She was just such a delight to meet and get to know. She was amazing helpful too. My son wanted to find a gym to keep up his workout routine, so the host went and purchased a 5 day pass for him to use at the local community centre which was a block or two away, it was her gift as she said. Then my daughter wanted to go thrift shopping so our host left us a couple coupons for some stores in the montreal area. When we finally met her she was just wonderful. So cheery, friendly, and as mentioned, very helpful.
The place itself was great to stay at. We stayed in the upstairs area which had a separate entrance, two bedrooms plus a small family room with a pull out couch, kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room.. We also were able to use one of the bedrooms downstairs just at the entrance to the host’s lower residence. It was very private because it was just inside the door and had its own tv and fan and such. Lots of space.
The place had everything.. washer and dryer, nice bath and shower, a little balcony out the front and another one out the back to have your morning coffee on etc. All the facilities

A delightful well decorated spot where we stayed for the F1 race. Close to metro and good restaurants and a responsive and helpful host.

Clean, comfortable apartment for 3 brothers. Nearby Metro station, bank to exchange US Dollars to CA Dollars, and a variety of restaurants. Host was very pleasant and accommodating.

Very comfortable, clean and centrally located for city apartment living for a family of 5. Maria-Anne was amazing with her communication and detail. Alot of thought was put into creating a nice apartment environment. The place had all we needed to enjoy our time.

My spouse, 1.5 year old, and I took a road trip from NYC to Montréal and had the pleasure of staying at this property for 4 nights.
Marie-Anne was such a wonderful host and we could tell that she put a lot of thought into accommodating families with young children. We were kindly provided with a pack-n-play, stroller, high chair, and even toddler utensils. The area is nice and quiet and conveniently located next to a park, a grocery store, and the metro. It was very easy to get to downtown Montréal via the Frontenac metro. We had an easy time with parking on the street and felt safe leaving the car.
The unit is fully equipped with almost every cooking appliance and coffee appliance you can imagine. From pots and pans, to Nespresso AND espresso machine, the kitchen was fully stocked with anything you need to cook a meal or stay caffeinated.
The TV was connected to Netflix and YouTube which was a huge help when we needed a break from our little one (Miss Rachel/Bluey anyone?)
Most importantly to us, the unit was so CLEAN! We were amazed by how clean the entire unit was, particularly the bathroom which had a nice soaking tub and a rainforest shower head.
We will definitely plan to stay here again on our next visit to Montréal!

Marie-Anne is a wonderful hostess! Truly one of the more friendly and helpful hosts I’ve been around.
The unit is kept quite nice! My parents, aged 70+, were with us and also enjoyed the trip. The one thing that posed a bit of a challenge were the steps up to the unit for my parents. Yet, we knew that going into the stay, as it was well documented in the VRBO post.
The location is very close to a grocery store, which we shopped at many times! Also, very close to the metro, which was our primary transportation and worked great!
Yet, a big THANK YOU, to Marie-Anne. Thank you for being such a gracious hostess!

Marie-Anne was a fabulous host! She answered all of our questions and had great suggestions. The apartment is in a quiet, safe neighborhood that is convenient to the Metro, grocery and restaurants. Parking on the street was easy! We did not spend much time in the apartment, but it was perfect for getting a good night’s rest and grabbing breakfast before heading out to explore. The decor captured the qualities of Montreal.

We had a lovely time in the apartment. Everything was clean and comfortable. The outdoor space was so nice. We cooked dinner on the grill one evening. Marie-Anne was great with communication and was very nice. The neighborhood was perfect. It was quiet, but close enough to plenty of things. There are good restaurants and parks very close by. I highly recommend staying here if you visit Montreal.

15mn by metro to city center, very quiet. Clean with all you need, even washer and dryer! We very much enjoyed our stay. Good to know, 1 bedroom is opened on the kitchen as it is the living room with a convertible sofa, would be nice to have a curtain to offer some privacy. The owner welcomes you and is attentive to your needs. Very nice place!

We had originally booked for 3 nights, but the extreme weather caused our travel to be delayed by 2 days - Marie-Anne very kindly offered for us to stay an extra night for free, which we really appreciated! Her accommodation is very warm and clean and has absolutely everything you could need - it was so handy to have a washing machine and dryer, as well as a full kitchen that was very well-eqipped. Being just a short walk from the train means everything is easily accessible. We highly recommend this lovely little house!

We absolutely loved our stay at Gite de Bercy. The owner's attention to detail is unparalleled. She makes sure to provide everything you might need. The apartment itself is beautifully appointed and decorated. The location can't be beat. Just a few blocks to the metro that takes you everywhere in the city. Just note that the bed is very high and the tub is very deep. The TV was tricky as it works from a laptop. Also beware of the "residence only" parking zones on the street. Overall, would definitely recommend and stay again.

This charming property (Gîte Le Bercy) was perfect for our family of 5 for a 5-day stay in mid-September. It is fully equipped with the comforts of home in mind. The back balcony provides a tranquil scene of the backyard. The front balcony provides views of the street. We used the grill in the back balcony for steak. The umbrellas, washing and drying machines came in handy on two of the days when there was a downpour. The host, Marie-Anne was friendly, helpful, and quick to respond whenever we had questions. We would definitely stay here again.

Great communication from the start - informative and warm. Check in was super easy and we were able to park right in front with no problem (I was worried because I’m terrible at parallel parking!). The apartment is lovely - so many fun details, beautifully decorated, super clean, and had everything we could possibly need, including a French press and coffee bean grinder. Beds were comfortable and my teenager loved the novelty of the Murphy bed. We sadly had to cut our visit to Montreal short due to illness, Marie- Anne was more than understanding and generously refunded part of our stay though she had no obligation to do so. We are hoping to return at a later date and stay here again! Couldn’t recommend more strongly.

A wonderful stay
We had a wonderful stay at the property. 2 adults and 3 growing kids fit fine in the residence. Marie-Anne provided a very warm welcome, was very attentive when we had questions, and gave us a lot of options for things to do during our stay in Montreal. We were able to park very close to the residence at all times. The area is very peaceful and family friendly, and close to a Metro station. I would definitely recommend this residence to anyone that would like to visit Montreal.

Love It!!!
Marie-Anne was a delightful host for my 2 adult sisters and me to enjoy 5.5 days in lovely Montreal. Marie-Anne was thoughtful, considerate and engaging while also super considerate of our privacy. It was so nice to have 3 closed door bedrooms at an affordable price in such a charming apartment! Well stocked with all needed comforts. The quiet, safe location was ideal, as we love to walk and nearby neighborhoods were interesting and attractive and the Metro station so conveniently close for taking us to attractions further away. Everything was top notch!!

Fabulous Apartment
Marie-Anne is a warm, attentive, and welcoming host for her artsy apartment. This place had everything we needed and more. No matter how you like to make you coffee or cook your meals, Anne Marie has everything that's required. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed spending time on the balconies. It is just a short walk to the Metro. I feel so fortunate that my family was able to stay here for our Montreal vacation.

Charming place
This unit was completely stocked up with everything you need. Tim’s is just one block away. The metro is about a 5 minute walk. All the nights we were able to park on the street in front of the unit. Neighbours were quiet. It was 4 of us in the unit. My wife and I slept in the master bedroom, my son (19) in the middle bedroom and my daughter (15) in the sofa bed in the living room. We were all very comfortable. Only downfall is that it has only 1 bathroom. If you’re unsure about this place, just book it before someone else does.

Lovely spot, close to the Metro
We enjoyed our stay at Sainte-Marie very much. The location was perfect for catching the Metro or for walking to restaurants in the neighborhood. Outdoor seating on the deck overlooking the beautiful gardens was a bonus. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen and sitting area are well designed for hanging out. We loved the spot and will stay again when we return to Montreal!

Strategic independent travel offering for exploring Montreal
This is a smart and strategic VRBO offering for independent travellers wishing to explore Montreal out of a central location. The community of Sainte-Marie is a working class neighbourhood undergoing gentrification similar to what happened to Mile End, Little Italy and Plateau Montreal years ago.
Within minutes you are whisked away on the Metro from the Frontenac station to explore Montreal. We loved the authenticity of the Sainte-Marie community. Every evening we would sit on our first floor balcony and watch life go by on quiet Rue Bercy and the nearby piste cyclable bicycle pathway. It was so nice to be away from mainstream touristy Montreal. Here you can feel you are a traveller not a touriste. Often in our 6 days here we felt we were in France...reminding us of our 22 independent vacations to Europe for road cycling.
The apartment is very well thought out and Marie-Anne thoughtfully has books and travel materials relating to Montreal. She thinks like a traveller and is superb at anticipating their needs. Communication with her was superbe......responsive, thorough. and genuine. As well, Marie-Anne thoughtfully provided start up provisions for our breakfasts...very classy. This is especially appreciated as the nearby IGA Supermarche is currently closed for renovations.
Our oasis every evening for dinner was the tremendous Polish deli and bakery at Rue Ontario et Frontenac.......excellent service and food from the hardworking staff. This deli is reflective of the Polish heritage of the Sainte Marie community.
In 50 years of independent travel Marie Anne's strong offering on Rue Bercy is very worthy of your consideration. Her standards and thoughtful ways are evident everywhere in this strategic apaertment offering.

Best resident ever!
Let's start by saying if you see this place available and do not rent, you have lost a fantastic opportunity. Everything from the host to the house and the neighborhood is unique and exceptional.
I have stayed in over 20 short-term rentals and I can say I have never experienced an excellent and caring host like Marie-Ann. This apartment has everything that you want and even if not, she is always there to help and provide you with whatever you need. The most convenient place for families with small children with toys, kids plate and a high chair. Marie-Ann let my 2.5 yrs old to play with her kitten in her backyard. Her generosity spans to offering my parents to stay longer, free, to find a convenient place to stay long-term. This, you can’t find anywhere.
The apartment: it’s a mixture of the old and new fixtures, so artistically and beautifully designed that for the first few days you are just mesmerized by design. My 2 yrs old loved to go from one room to the other through the secret room. Everything is available in this apartment. You can bake, cook, make juice, smoothie and tea, .. a perfect place for my traditional mother to enjoy the complete sets of appliances.
In short! Don’t miss this opportunity.

Wonderful Home Away from Home
Ms. Marie-Anne is such a lovely host! She was easy to communicate with, accommodating and provided all kinds of great info on the local area. Before we even arrived we knew we were in good hands. Her apartment is cozy, great kitchen space, big soaking bathtub and comfortable beds. Two balconies to enjoy people watching (front) or birds and lilac bush (back) and she let the kids run in the backyard, which they loved. The neighborhood is fantastic for walking, lots of parks and the metro is only a five minute walk away. Next time we’re in Montreal we’d definitely stay here again!

A Great Place to Stay in Montreal
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It is in a quiet, residential neighborhood with easy access to public transportation. The Frontenac metro station is about a 5 minute walk away. We used the metro system during our entire week in Montreal and it is clean and efficient.
The apartment has a fully stocked kitchen with high end appliances which we used on numerous occasions to prepare meals. The beds are very comfortable as is the bedding. The apartment was maintained at the perfect temperature during our stay which was great as the weather outside was cold and snowy/ rainy. My family of four really enjoyed curling up on the couch together to watch a little television after a day of exploring. The bathroom is really a neat surprise as it is a mixture of old and new. Marie-Anne is a super host. She was always very quick with responses to questions I had before and during the trip. She even went so far as to leave us a little gift to enjoy during our stay, which was a nice touch. We had a memorable trip and our stay here was part of the reason. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Montreal.
