A very good accommodation that exceeded all expectations. I can recommend a longer stay. Good food, friendly staff, very good standard of rooms and a fantastic and peaceful environment. I will definitely visit again.

Both the first, and the last days of our trip we stayed at this lovely place, where the owner himself grew up and developed these Eco lodges We had a great time here because: - Both the owner and the staff are super friendly, helpful and proactive. They all have international experience in hospatality. - The cook can prepare wonderful meals, from Sri Lankan currys to European dishes. There is no set menu, but you are asked what you would like to eat. Everything fresh and delicious! - There is a beautiful large garden, where they grow all the fruits and vegetables that are served. - The stand-alone cottages are super clean and spacious, with all practicals like water, coffee/tea, fridge, safe, toiletries etc. - Beautiful large pool, with lovely sun beds and towels - Various possibilities for activities, from cooking courses to local trips - Close to the airport, with good pick-up service In short, definitely a place to book for several nights!

We were treated like royalty by the great team at Ambarella Lodge. The owner Louis was there on arrival and made us feel straight at home. We enjoyed learning most about the history of the hotel and his vast experience in luxury tourism. Despite only staying one night we rated the hotel as being the best of our trip to Sri Lanka. The kind and attentioned GM Mohan was available to organise anything we needed quickly. Thank you to him. The chef Tharusha's food was of the highest quality and gave a great insight into Sri Lanka's tastes. We also enjoyed exploring the local area with 'TukTuk Samit' who showed us the passion he has for his beautiful village.

I have to write two or three sentences about finding absolutely nothing that we didn't like. This place scored top marks and we would love to go back!

Stylish spacious room in a beautiful peaceful location - perfect place to spend a couple of nights at the start of our trip to recuperate from the long flight to Colombo. Service was friendly and professional and the food was some of the best that we have enjoyed during our three weeks in Sri Lanka. Brigitte, the manager, was able to organise an excellent driver for us for the cultural triangle leg of our trip, which was a bonus and made everything very easy. Can't recommend the Ambarella highly enough if you are looking for somewhere close to the airport that still has style and personality.

There's not a lot nearby, but the property was so lovely we didn't want to leave anyway!
