We had a great stay here the last week of June. My husband, my parents, and 3 kids (4, 2, and 6 months) really utilized the buggy with beach chairs to the beach everyday. The outdoor screened in porch with the fan on is where we spent most of our time when we weren’t on the beach. Honestly the pictures don’t do it justice because it’s bigger and nicer than we thought before arriving so we were pleasantly surprised. Chad was great and very responsive leading up to our stay, during, and even after. The location was great because the beach was never too crowded being farther away from the boardwalk. Best beach trip ever! The house was perfect for our group - the outside spaces are lovely. We did lots of porch-sitting, talking, reading, playing games! We didn’t have one glitch, loved the location, the beach is practically private, the rooftop deck was mosquito-less! Chad was an awesome host!

My family very much enjoyed the cozy cottage by the ocean. We had every convenience needed. The large screened in porch was the scene of many happy evenings together. The host checked in on us and was available to help if needed. A thoroughly wonderful stay.

Prefect beach cottage with old school feel. The location is amazing —10 steps to the beaxh access. You will never want to leave the front porch. Highly recommend!

The short walk to the beach allowed us to hit the beach early with the kids and come back for lunch and nap time with little difficulty. The house had beach chairs, an umbrella, and a dunes buggy that we ferried our kids to the beach back and forth in and they loved it. The outdoor shower and hose/spray options were key to not tracking sand throughout the house. There was parking space for about 3 cars (we have a large SUV) on the property and in the front part of the house. We were 10 mins to grocery shopping and restaurants, but far enough away from the party scene and boardwalk noise which was perfect for our needs. The house is a bit dated as noted in previous reviews, but had everything we needed and was all working. The outdoor screened in porch was used often and amazing and the ceiling fans were necessary for such hot and humid days. We spent a few minutes up on the top floor deck but the bugs were pesky. We had one issue with the bathroom door handle coming off (and wasn't fixable without buying new parts) and contacted Chad who had a handyman come by that same day to fix it. Thanks Chad. The only "complaint" we might have was the other residents behind the main house (it's a good sized property with 2 homes on it and this set-up seems to be common in VA Beach) who would play their music pretty loudly when they drove down the driveway to their home. It didn't last long and we never said anything, but Chad you may want to ask them to kindly turn down the music when they pull into the driveway, especially for families with small kids. There is also construction going on in the neighboring property which looks like a complete makeover with cement trucks and construction crews, but I will say thankfully, that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. The cleanliness rating gets only 3 stars bc we found some discarded items throughout the house from previous tenants. I imagine turning over guests from week to week would be difficult to keep clean, but is essential IMHO to maintaining strong reviews and might be worth looking into a new cleaning service. In general, I think if you can't find or afford a place right on the beach, this location is about as good as it gets. Please take this constructive feedback as just that as we truly had a great time.

I wish the website showed more pictures of the house. I was nervous thinking it was old out would feel dirty.. the house was super cute and not what I was expecting! It did feel dirty from the sand but your at the beach so that's expected. The house could use a good deep clean though to get the nooks and crannies all cleaned out. Overall the house was exactly what we needed. We spend many nights in the screened in porch and being steps from the beach was perfect for having 3 kids with us. We would definitely stay here again!

Great property, literally steps from sand. The beach and ocean at this location are gorgeous. Seemed we had it all to ourselves! I will say it's a longer walk to the water than it looks, but well worth it. Water is warm (compared to our New England waters at least) and the beach is pristine. The location is great too, just a couple miles to everything. The house was great for our two familes of 4. We spent a lot of time on the porch due to bad weather a few of the days, and it was awesome. We ate many dinners on the large dining table on the porch. AC was really great too. Nice and chilly after a hot day. Beds were comfy, showers were strong, and there was plenty of room for our teens to spread out. Only a couple of minor things to mention. A small leak over the washer and dryer, but it rained like crazy for a couple days, and the owners have been working on it. Also, the kitchen appliances could use an upgrade, but everything worked just fine. Owner Frank seemed very nice and responsive. I'd rent this house again for sure.

The layout is a little quirky with the master bedroom off the kitchen, but it didn't bother us at all. As other reviewers have noted, the front porch is awesome! With the plentiful space and seating as well as the ceiling fans keeping the breeze going, we spent a good amount of time there when not on the beach. The close location to the beach was as advertised - just a few steps. The owner was also very courteous and responsive. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Small family vacay at VA BEACH right at the ocean. Can’t get closer unless you own a place. We loved the cottage and the screen porch was a real treat. Every meal was there. Wonderful beach amenities. Everything you need for a great low key time.

I grew up visiting the North End and knew I wanted to stay there during our family vacation. The location is ideal for a family needing easy access to the beach since the boardwalk is right outside the house. The screened porch is excellent for hosting and afternoon naps. We appreciated that the house also came with a good quality umbrella, beach cart, boogie boards and chairs. The house is older and could stand to have appliance upgrades and carpet upgrades in one bedroom. We also had some trouble with ants in the kitchen. But overall it was a very positive experience, the host was responsive, and we would stay here again!

This is our second time at this property and it was wonderful. Right next to the beach and very near the boardwalk and places to eat. We didn’t need a house this big but we love the location. The owners are very responsive and accommodating.

This property was great for our week stay during Thanksgiving. My son & husband were able to surf & kitesurf. It was a bit more house than we needed but the location was well worth it. The owner was quick to respond & checkin was really easy. This will definitely be on my list of favorites.

The 4 BR cottage, full kitchen, and plenty of screened porch seating was perfect for entertaining family when my daughter was married nearby. We even saw a rocket launch from Wallops Island.

My family had a really nice beach vacation in this cute little beach house right next the beach, but away from the more crowded parts of Virginia Beach. We had no problems with the property.

Wonderful property that met every need. One story and steps from the beach walkway which was perfect for my mom and her reconstructed needs. Teens had a blast re-connecting with their local friends and utilizing the large outdoor screened in porch. I appreciated the quiet neighborhood and beach. The house is comfortable and decorated nicely. Well equipped with beach chairs, beach cart, gas grill and good pots/pans.
