Our group of friends have had an annual women's weekend starting in 1987. We have had 12-30 ladies join us over the years. This year we decided to stay at Osage and everything was perfect with everything we may need within walking distance. The house had towels, a Blackstone, crockpots, cooking utensils, appliances, soap, and bathroom toiletries. It met all our needs and beyond!!

This is a beautiful home with so much character! Our family enjoyed it so much. There was plenty of space to spread out, tons of towels and extra blankets. Very close to nice parks and the Osage Beach. We would recommend this unique, beautiful home to families/big groups!

We loved the stay! The property was amazing and we would absolutely stay again! The only item to update is check out time, online it says 1 pm but at the location all over the house it says 11am, so just a note to update that. Beautiful place, lake just down the street, dishes and cooking items there for us to use, comfy beds! Thank you!!

Great place to stay. ATV trails left from the parking lot. Gas and food across the street. Place was amazing. Everything you would need and more. Tv satellite was not working but wasn’t much time for that anyways. Would recommend to everyone to stay here.

Our 2nd time at the Osage Schoolhouse for a family event was terrific. Four families from different directions arrived to a well-appointed and beautifully decorated place for 14 of us to enjoy each other's company, swim in Straight Lake, cook, play games, visit Itasca State Park, and engage in highly competitive mini golf at nearby Park Rapids. Lynda was great getting us checked in, everything was clean, orderly, and well stocked, from the ice cubes to the spice cupboard. The kitchen is spacious, well equipped, and there is a Blackstone Griddle available on the deck for outdoor cooking. The kids and teenagers had a fun time playing lawn games in the yard. I had a couple ZOOM business meetings during our stay, and the WIFI worked great, even with many of us on it at times. The grocery and liquor stores less than a rock throw away as well as the OBT are convenient for an impulse need or something forgotten at home. We would definitely recommend and reuse this property.

Unique place with sleeping arrangements for 23. Huge kitchen area well stocked. Lots of room for people to gather both upstairs and downstairs. Straight lake, which is nearby was also very nice as we brought a boat. Members of our group said they’d be willing to come here again we gathered as a large family get together.

The host was amazing! She met us at the property and walked us through answering any questions we had. The house was exactly as described and extremely clean. We had 20 people staying at the house for my sons wedding. There was lots of room for everyone! They also had lots of extras like games and toys for the kids. They even had a pantry with staples just in case we needed something when we were cooking. Check out process was easy. I would definitely recommend this property!!

We arrived and checked in and found the extremely well stocked kitchen suited our needs perfectly. We made lunch for the bride and groom to be and their friends and family and the made dinner. The road outside is busy but inside the School house it was barely audible. The bathrooms were clean and functional. The beds were comfortable. The entertainment systems were easily accessed.

This is our third time staying at the school house. This is the perfect spot to host our gathering with ample room for eating, playing games, hanging out and sleeping. We love the outdoor space for outside games, the quiet neighborhood for morning walks, the next door grocery store for forgot items, the comfortable beds, and the three fridges to hold everything. We will continue to make this our annual gathering spot.

Amazing large family rental
From prior to checking in through the duration of our stay out expectations were far exceeded! The house was large enough for our family vacation of 20 and the location was perfect. A playground and beach within walking distance and plenty of indoor activities for the rainy times! We will definitely be back!

Linda, the manager, was extraordinarily responsive. She gave us a tour at the start and even showed up that night to fix a minor problem. When severe weather threatened, she showed exceptional concern for our safety. (She is originally from Kansas and knows severe weather.)

For A Wonderfully Vacation
We have not had all of my 3 daughters their husbands and their kids together on a real vacation forever so for Christmas last year I said that this was their Christmas present me. They all want to go again they loved the place and everyone for all long really good!! We will be booking again!! LOVED IT

Snowmobile Club trip
The schoolhouse was amazing. Such a well restored old building with well-preserved touches of the past in a totally modern and spacious layout. Giant kitchen with all the equipment you can imagine. Large living and dining areas. Right on the snowmobile trail with easy access to gas station & food. Plenty of parking. Will definitely come back.

Our large family loved the Schoolhouse
The Schoolhouse was the perfect place for our family to gather for the holidays. It is beautifully decorated and cozy, with extensive kitchen facilities, toys and books, and fully stocked with bed linens, towels, and even shampoo. The host was attentive and very helpful, and we definitely recommend it as the perfect place for a large group.

Loved Our Stay at the Schoolhouse!
Our group of 10 (3 generations) had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Osage Schoolhouse! The property is beautifully maintained, super clean, and stocked with anything and everything we could have needed to have a comfortable stay. The communication with the property manager was very smooth. She was friendly, informative, and responsive. One of the kids in our group said, “I wish we could live here forever.” We would all recommend this VRBO in a heartbeat and hope to return some day!

This was our second year of many to come staying at the school house. It is such a neat place and stocked with every amenity you could need. They are so accommodating! Getting to the beach is an easy five minute walk.

Ashes
We stayed to celebrate the passing of my husband with our kids and grandchildren. We spread ashes is a special location while staying that week. Property was in excellent condition, clean, instructions on many things were written out and helpful. The manager mentioned there was a gift card for me she left somewhere in the house, but none of us never found that and it felt kind of phony since she was very detailed on all other things related to the stay. It was such a fun place to stay and to cook together, play games and just chill.

Family Reunion
The schoolhouse worked great for our group. There was plenty of room and it was easy for everyone to get ready at the same time. It was quiet even though there is a busy highway right out the front door. The schoolhouse is stocked very, very well. Basically bring your food and clothes and you are good to go.

Excellent accommodations!
Every couple of years we rent a house for a family of 20. We are coming from North Dakota, Northern Minnesota, and Illinois, so we try choose something centrally located and this choice did not disappoint! When I say they have a fully stocked kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms, I am not exaggerating. Everything you could possibly need is included in the kitchen. The bathrooms have plenty of linens and even came stocked with shampoo and conditioner and body wash. The bedrooms were nicely furnished and had extra blankets in case you needed them. The kitchen easily seated our whole group with room leftover. The sitting/living room was also spacious enough to feel like we weren’t on top of each other. Add to that the Blackstone grill on the deck and the fire pit for icing on the cake. Right across the street within walking distance was a grocery and liquor store and also the Osage Bait and Tackle which was really convenient! Boat launch was only a quarter mile away along with a sandy beach area for the kids. The property manager Linda greeted us upon arrival and gave us the lowdown on anything we needed to know. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Perfect for a large group
The Osage schoolhouse is by far the most well stocked & thoughtful rental property we have ever stayed at. It's obvious the owners took time to consider the needs of their renters. We were in town for a funeral, and had family of all ages staying. Tons of towels, and hooks for hanging them in the bedrooms! A nightlight & usb port by every bunk! The kids enjoyed having their own bunk room to share with cousins. We loved the separate living areas, so much room to spread out. Kids spent plenty of time on the pirate ship outside & the playground just down the street. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook for a crowd. It seems there's never enough fridge space when a large family gets together, so the 3 fridges were great! And for this family of coffee drinkers, the variety of options for making coffee was also a hit! You have everything from single serve Keurig, to french press, to regular drip pot, to a 30 cup electric. It was all of the little things that brought a bit of joy and ease to what was otherwise a difficult weekend for us. Thank you so much.

Perfect Family Reunion Site
The old school house was the perfect spot for our family reunion. The place was so well thought out with space for everyone and every activity. Everything we could have needed was available at the house. Even though the house is by the highway, it was completely quiet inside and peaceful in the back yard. We loved the location because we could get ice across the street and a couple items we forgot next door at the grocery store. The beach was a huge hit with the younger kids along with the park, both a block or two away. This is by far our favorite place to spend our family reunion and we will definitely be back!

Perfect Accommodations for a Family Vacation
All of us were thrilled with this place from the moment we stepped in. The pictures online make it look really nice, but it’s truly even better in person. The whole place is beautiful! The living/dining area is spacious, comfortable, and open. You can eat dinner with a full view of the kids playing in the living room, and cook and wash dishes while everyone is chatting and laughing around you. There was plenty of space for us to spread out for some quiet time too.
Everything is so clean, well-stocked, and inviting.
We loved having a big kitchen with all the dishes and gadgets you could need or want, including two ovens and the biggest cast iron skillet I’ve ever seen. Taco meat for 20? No problem with that gem! Having a place to eat all together and play games/relax all together was a favorite for our family, and many of us mentioned that as a highlight.
The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and all the bunk rooms and bedrooms worked perfectly for our big family. We could see ourselves fitting there for a couple more years!
We had enough space for a yard game tournament, and the kids loved the play structure that the church allows guests to use in the back. It was really nice too to have the little Byers market a block or two away — that came in handy for the few extra ingredients we needed. We all took a walk a couple times down to the lake where people could enjoy the lakeside view or swim to the floating dock. It’s a nice walk and so close to the Schoolhouse! It was so great to be able to swim on a hot day within walking distance of the house.
Though the schoolhouse is on a main road, the occasional passing traffic didn’t really bother us. The town itself is actually very quiet, and the people we didn’t meet were kind and friendly. For anyone holding out because of the in-town location, don’t let that stop you! You won’t be disappointed with this spot. The Schoolhouse is a TREASURE!
We felt so comfortable and relaxed on our vacation weekend. What a gift for our family. We would love to come again!
