Wonderful location up above Santa Cruz, looking out to the ocean. Provided gorgeous sunset vistas and sunrises. Even the fog banks rolling in up through the treetops were beautiful! House was well stocked with utensils and cookware. Very comfortable bed. All in all, a peaceful respite from this crazy world. Thank you for sharing!

Our overall trip to Santa Cruz was one for the books, and our stay up in the mountains was quite pleasant. Nice and close to town, ocean views from the porch, and tons of wildlife. Easy peasy stay, definitely recommend.

Very comfortable place for us. It had a view of Monterey Bay in the distance. Isolated in the hills but so close to town. Quite enjoyable.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home. Had really great views. Perfect location being just outside of the city with much to do! Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Tom was very responsive to any questions. "Buddy" the next door dog was also great plus when he came to visit.

Happy made our stay even better. Everyday she/he would bring us a toy. What a delight. Of course the location was perfect for us. We awoke to seeing a family of deer. Very special moment.

My spouse and I absolutely loved staying here. Everything is as pictured, and the home is in a beautiful location in the hills just outside Santa Cruz. It is extremely peaceful and a great place to relax during your stay in the Santa Cruz area. We loved the convenience of the kitchen (it was great to have a fridge on-site) and the space was very clean and comfortable. We also loved seeing the gentle neighbor dog who occasionally visits -- he is big, but very friendly and sweet! We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Tom's place.

What a beautiful secluded location!! Our main purpose was to enjoy a relaxing three days together and we were not disappointed at all! The home was clean, comfortable, and cozy. We loved the decks off the front and the master bedroom including the views from both. The front had an incredible view of the ocean and downtown of Santa Cruz but was mostly enjoyed in the evenings looking at the constellations. The back deck off of the master bedroom made you feel you were in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees and nature. It was amazing how you could feel you’re in the middle of nowhere yet be in downtown Santa Cruz in less than 10 minutes. We couldn’t have asked for anything more! Thanks for everything!

Great time at Santa Cruz Ironman 70.3 We wanted to be away from the crowd at the beach and this property was perfect… would highly recommend.

Beautiful property. We had difficulty finding however & had wished it was more on the Main Street. The house was lovely, Happy would come over had soon as we got home & came to said good morning too. My husband would have taken him home too !

Absolute peace & quiet with the most incredible view of Santa Cruz. We thoroughly enjoyed the mountain scenery and could get to the spectacular beaches and “in town” activities in less than 15 minutes.

Very well stocked-from spices, & condiments, to baggies, plastic wrap, toilet paper,& first aid. Steep and winding road to house. But worth it once you get there. We enjoyed the peace & quiet. You have to climb a flight of stairs to get in which is difficult for seniors w/ heavy luggage but we managed. Closets are locked so the only place to hang anything is in the broom closet. Carpets in bedroom were stained. Need to be cleaned. We Enjoyed watching the humming birds put a show on for us right outside the window. Excellent communication with Tom. We had a couple of questions when we got there and he answered within a couple of minutes.

We rented this cool unit for my parents birthday. They absolutely loved it. Access to the best parks, hikes, nature and beaches.

From the hilltops outside of Santa Cruz a nice view to the town & sea. Quality bed/linens and well equipped kitchen.

Everything was exactly as advertised including the friendly canine visitor which was such a bonus. It's a lovely, private, quiet place to take a moment and enjoy a little nature while still having all the creature comforts you could want.

We did have a great stay. The house was very comfortable and had everything except a coffee maker. French press doesn't work for me. There's a friendly neighbor dog that will go back home if you tell him too. I thought it would have more of a view of the ocean. Overall I would give it about an 8.5.

Charming rental on a secluded lot but close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay, sleeping with windows open listening to the owls. We will miss seeing Mr Happy (friendly black dog) on the porch each morning. Hope to make a return visit!

We rented this property to use as a home base while hiking in the most beautiful locations nearby. We were not disappointed. The house is located in a forested area. We saw deer, bunnies, wild turkey, quail, and owls all from the porch! And we grilled fresh pineapple on the deck. So peaceful and high above the city of Santa Cruz. I would certainly return again!! The house was exactly as it looked in the photos. We loved it!! Thank you!!!

This location features both ocean and redwood views. Cozy place with everything you need. Would happily book again.

Beautiful location in the hills near Santa Cruz. Well equipped. A long windy drive. Be aware this is an upper story location if you have problems with stairs.

Felt like we were far away from the city of Santa Cruz, because of the remote feeling of the place, but actually very close to everything. Loved the view and the quaintness of the place. Relaxing, and had all the amenities that we needed.

We had five wonderful relaxing days here. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the great view and all the quiet. The location was close to many state parks and hiking trails with lots to see and do.

We did not need to bring anything. Every cooking appliance you may need was provided. Was nice having regular size refrigerator where places we have stayed before were smaller. Very quite and relaxing if you want to really get away from it all

Nice and peaceful, no surprises. First time using VRBO, worked out nicely.

Property was exactly as presented in photos. The location is private and cosy, yet affords a beautiful view of Santa Cruz, which is a short drive down the hill. A well-appointed kitchen was much appreciated. Owner very responsive. We enjoyed our long weekend here very much and will return!

We had such a lovely time up in the Santa Cruz woods, looking down at the Boardwalk, Warf and Surf. The place is super charming and perfect for a get away for 2. We spent the week with deer, fox, quail, hawks, owls and bunnies all around us. Even had a short visit from Happy the neighbor pup! Thank you for sharing your home, Tom. All around a lovely getaway and we so plan to come back!
