It was dog friendly.The staff were really good

The food prices were very expensive. Being dog friendly you don’t expect it to be spotless but it could have been better.And the ambience of reception would be nice if opened up, but maybe it had been closed in due to Covid

The area was quite, the grounds was well looked after. Really enjoyed my stay, and was excellent value for money.

Was very disappointed to pay Hotel rates to be served dinner in lounge bar seated next to Gents toilet. We were not informed we had to ask for room to be cleaned every day. We decided to move out and was not fully compensated. We have stayed here previously but standard have dropped .

The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Parking was convenient and the receptionist was polite and efficient.

I could hear other guests in an adjacent room - not sure whether they were being particularly loud, or the walls were thin, or a combination of both.

Dinner was good, nothing special and expected level of service. Nice Pub Restaurant environment. Breakfast was very good - Cooked and Continental Options with Cooked, to order and brought to your table. Room was adequate, clean and tidy with expected Tea/Coffee and Toiletries. All the Staff were pleasant.

Great looking building and great location.

Uncomfortable bed, paper thin walls, staff were surly at breakfast at first and then proceeded to stand in front of me and slate other staff, before moving on to conversation about pets defecation and breeding habits, including graphic descriptions of both.

Great place to stay. Food, staff, rooms etc all very nice. A real treat to stay at the Gables. Thankyou Brian and Staff. See you again.

Receptionist was lovely on arrival.

Room had awful smell to it, the bathroom smelt of damp. Our room was right next to a fire exit which was constantly banging all through the night with people coming in and out to smoke. Could hear everything from these people also smoking outside of our window. Walls are paper thin so noise all through the night from people above also. Did not sleep and could not cope with the awful smell. Would not recommend staying here.

Travelled with 2 dogs and they had put a dog bed and bowls in the room. We were sat in the restaurant rather than the main breakfast room as dogs weren't allowed in there, but it was nice and private. Very good breakfast and lovely staff.

The bathroom, although clean, had a strong mildew smell. The shower was also lukewarm. Bathroom was nice and modern though and towels soft. We were only here for a night so not a huge deal but could have done with a hot shower after driving all day.

Excellent place to stay with your dog 🐕 They provided a bed and 2 bowls in the room and gave her gravy bone biscuits in the breakfast area Staff were all very very dog friendly and very helpful Breakfast was great 👍
