Brilliant! This was our first hostel stay(with my group of friends), and it would definitely won't be our last. Don't be put off by the word hostel-it was basically a private flat in an amazing location for a fraction of what we would pay in a hotel. Of course, our experience is traveling with a group of friends, if you are a solo traveler, this might look different if you stay in shared dormitories. However, the value for money and location is unbeatable. The accommodation itself was spotless, had everything necessary for our stay, incredibly warm for end of December (we actually got too hot and had to switch the heating off for half of our stay-flat was still plenty warm, was lovely). The person who met us at reception (whom's name I sadly forgot)was incredibly polite and helped us check in , explaining everything in detail and the process of checking out , entering the building, etc. We also loved the cat- Angela, who was very cuddle and sweet. Also, we booked a transfer from the airport to the hostel through them, and again, I will recommend doing this too. Only have in mind you need to book it with 48h notice ,which we didn't know and unfortunately couldn't arrange one for our departure flight, as only messaged the the day before, as an alternative to this I will use Bolt. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and knew and discussed while still in Budapest that if we are to come back, we will definitely stay here again!

The family apartment we had was perfect. It was spacious. The location within the center of the square was amazing, right in front of St. Stephen's Church and walking distance to everything. The bonus was the Christmas Market & the wonderful smells. It was clean, beds were comfy and had a fridge, microwave, and stove top with dishes provided. Had enough beds for all of us. Overall, we would stay here again.

Amazing location and spacious apartment in Budapest city centre. Extra facilities available (eg laundry + hair dryers) available at reception and lots of tourist info.

Location close to many touristic activities. Spacious and clean apartment, well equipped. We could rest wonderfully.

The location is fantastic. Easy walk to many of the big sites. The view of the St Stephens Basilica is really cool. Lots of restaurants and shops right around the corner and next door. Our room was on the top floor and super spacious, and the beds were comfortable. Definitely would stay here again!

-It didn't bother us, but note that the basilica is still in use and they do ring the bells every morning/evening. -We didn't get hot water until our 2nd day here but it was hot walking around so we didn't mind -Bathroom had sort of a mildew smell

The hostel area would not be a space I would want to stay in. We were thankful to have gotten an apartment instead of a hostel stay;)

The view from our balcony was breath taking. Massive rooms with comfortable bed. Very cool drawings around the building and in the rooms! Super friendly staff that were very helpful and gave us suggestions for cheaper transportations. Loved everything. I stay here every time I come to visit Budapest and will continue to do so in the future!

The location is fantastic. We had a private room and it was great value for money. The space was large and clean the small kitchen has all the necessities.

The only negative for us was there is no air conditioning and the room we had was uncomfortably hot at times and very difficult to cool down with only pedestal fans and opening windows.

The building is old, I understand, but some of the equippment, mainly in the bathrooms, could be renewed.

You absolutely can’t beat the location! It was perfect. Our apartment was spacious and clean. The place had a lot of character and my friends (who were visiting Europe for the first time) LOVED it.

It was HOT and a/c would have been lovely, but I realize that we had the unfortunate luck of being there on some of the hottest days of the summer…not the fault of Pal’s Hostel. We needed to sleep with the windows open for better airflow, and there was a lot of street noise, so throw some earplugs in your suitcase and enjoy this great place.

The location was awesome with easy access to most of the tourist attractions. I really liked the person at the reception (should have asked his name) as he was ready to help and pleasant. All the things were clean.

It should be a bit more cleaner in the corridors and stairs. We didnt get the help with the gas stove as it was very slow and I already asked at the reception for help (I didnt contact after 18 ocklock as they are closed).

Big apartment and very good for the money

Since there are no blinds or shutters in the windows it got really light early in the morning and difficult to sleep in the morning. Also the pillows were really big which is not my kind of thing so it was difficult to fall asleep comfortably but other than that the apartment was perfect.

It is located in the center of Budapest. The room was quite big and the relation between the quality and the price was good.

The reception hour are not a lot.

The water could have been hotter

This place is a wonderful location. We got to see the cathedral light up with Christmas festivities and hear live music, yet it got quiet at 10:00. It is in a perfect/central area.

Checking in was a little confusing, because of the door downstairs and that the "lobby" is in a different building, but now I that I know this, I will stay again and recommend it for sure.

Accommodation is great. Very clean, warm and cozy with a beautiful view.
