Nice view from the large room, varied breakfast menu, early check-in and decor was throughout fitting oldworld

No hot water at all despite asking twice, they've turned it off clearly as other people mention it on reviews. Bar food and drink we were completely ripped off and others seemed blindsided when handed bills. When asking for gin and tonic we'd expect regular cork gin and schweppes not the most expensive glendalough gin assumed and a 65 cent in tescos 150 ml can of tonic charged at 3.50. At lunch sandwiches are on the menu for 5.50 euro my friend was charged 6.50,despite a sandwich combo being 10 euro on the menu the waitress seemed not to know the very limited menu and tried charging me for them separately so a coffee, coke, sandwich and soup was bargained down from 18 euro to 16. This was on top of a 20 minute wait for a split bill when we were trying to go on a trek before sunset an hour later.It was just tiring. We did say when there was an issue we could pay together and it wasn't a problem. My friend commented shouldn't we be offered a free coffee for the long wait not both overcharged. We ate out on our night in a local Indian that was open and it was mediocre. The village restaurants were otherwise shut and there's not much in it. One TV channel.. BBC news but service is broken. Turned off the heater at night to wake up to the room roasting and it was back on again.

Menu is soemwhat limited - more options would be good.

We had a lovely stay here at Lakeside Manor. We were staying the night before we went to a wedding nearby. Our room was lovely with a balcony and a beautiful view of the lake. It was extremely clean with a very big comfortable bed, powerful shower in the ensuite and beautiful smelling toiletries. There was an iron and a hair dryer which I was very glad of. The room was very well supplied with sockets in all the places we needed. We had food in the bar area in the evening and that was very tasty, typical bar food. And the breakfast in the morning again was perfect, served to us by friendly helpful staff. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough. It way exceeded our expectations, which was such a bonus. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Nothing we didn't like

Great stay, very friendly and helpful staff, with both accomodation and meals. Lovely area to stay and wonderful views of Lough Ramor from our balcony. We had a small problem with our car which was quickly sorted by the local garage that the receptionist recommended. Thanks to all.
