The property has a traditional Thai style made of wood, very spacious and comfortable. having no isolation you can hear some noise outside- but it’s traditional. The lady in charge, Mei was very helpful and friendly and she gave us a lot of advices. she even took care of me when I had food poisoning 😊 I felt like I was in the house of some relatives in Thailand

for us it was not a problem as we had a car but the location is a little far from the center. Mei texted me all this details before so I knew what to expect.

location is awesome if you want to get away from the busy town staff is extremely friendly and nice, they made sure we have everything we want the rooms and in general the property is very clean, you see them everyday working on it definitely worth coming back!!!

Amazing property lovingly built, maintained and run by the family. They have thought about everything and more about the amenities and comfort that a traveller is looking for. It’s an oasis in middle of a city. Everything was beautiful & thoughtful. It’s walking distance from two amazing restaurants- Ohkaju & Wela dee. The property looks better in real than in photos.

Peaceful wooden resort just outside beautiful Chiang Mai . Fantastic garden and nice houses . Loved the salt water pool . great organic restaurant near by . very comfortable bed . Nice owners .

For me as a solo traveler it was a bit to far out the city .There was noise and traffic from the street . Bathroom was tiny .

Bedroom was nicely decorated and the staff that greeted us was extremely helpful. They even helped me organize flowers for the room for my wife's birthday. They were most helpful and their English was impeccable. The gardens and antiques were very well laid out.

The American breakfast was a bit lacking, no coffee was offered. The proximity to the busy road could be bothersome and we were woken up around 3am due to the loud motorbikes racing down the road. Adding some speedbumps or traffic calming to the area would help.

Like the room and facilities, nice breakfast. Run by friendly, professional people. Very clean and comfortable.

Little bit out of the way

A must-visit in Chiang Mai - for whom interest in traditional. I miss so much the feeling there! Through the disscussion with the receptionist girl (her name is Mei I think). This whole beautiful landscape and real traditional Thai houses are built 28 years ago by her uncle in law - a landscape architect (who staying in Bangkok - he should be an excellent architect i believe so!). And his wife - the girl said- is the one who grow herself all the trees and gardens there. The lady has a very good knowledge and understanding about trees. Waking up in the morning, thought was in a dream in a Botanic garden! I feel so lucky to be there The Thai wooden house is about 4m wide and 3m long, but, at least 7m high - the roof! Surprised to me that I slept very well those 2 nights in such a high-roof-mini-house. Walking distance of 400m from the hotel, there is a Michelin 3 stars restaurant called De Wa Lee or something like that (you should as the receptionist girl she can show you). Very nice and affordable Thai dishes there - also a must try! Definitely being back here for traditional Thai house and natures. By the way, ask for the house which is not next to the street to avoid the noise is my reccommendation :) Also this is a nature feeling so there are some bugs still - not for whom fear bugs But to be fair, room facilities here, I believe that further standards than 3 stars (probably 4 stars) Swimming pool area, BBQ area, beautiful dreaming Botanic garden. Perfect! Can’t wait to come back here with my family and friends on the next time!

Just that the location was far out of town but easy to get to the surrounding rural and mountain setting surrounding Chiang Mai...

Everything is great here! The bungalows are comfortable, quiet. Food is great! Best breakfast in Thaïland. The swimming pool is awesome. But above all Mei and her mother are so nice. Mei gave us excellent tips for visiting the area. we will definitely come back!

Our stay here was everything we hoped it would be. Mei and her mother was extremely welcoming, and always ready to offer up recommendations for food or things to do. Mei even helped us to organise a trip to a national park! The breakfast was incredible - especially the Thai breakfast. It is all made on site and it's absolutely delicious. The rooms were lovely, and the site itself was stunning.

Fantastic place to sleep during visit of Chiang Mai. The hotel and the rooms are in Thai style which if perfect to forgot hotels of the big cities. The owners of the hotel were always very kind and happy to help Big recommandation for this hotel!

Landscape & gardening paradise. The place is Thailand miniature where all buildings reflect the architecture & cultures from North, Central, East and South of Thailand. Every corners of the resort are designed to express the owners’ great vision and indepth knowledge of landscape planning. Thousand of beautiful plants. Lovely host and one would definitely feel like home.

The buildings are un-isolated traditional thai houses, so we could hear sound from the outside. There were quite noisy work activities in the area in some periods.

Breakfast was fine. Food in restaurant good. Staff were very nice. Will stay again.

We had an amazing stay at Baansuwanburi. One of the best locations we have stayed in. It is a family-owned small resort and every guest has their own little house. The garden-pool area is a dream come true and the staff (especially Mei) is such a great person. She took care of everything and was very helpful and fun to chat with. The cherry on the top, an excellent breakfast every morning! We had the Thai vegetarian breakfast and it was the best food we had in Thailand. Served every morning with different options and fresh fruits. They also offer a la carte dished for lunch which unfortunately we did not try, but I'm sure they are delicious as well. Highly recommend this place if you don't mind driving a bit to the city center of Chiang Mai and we would definitely come again :-).

The only thing which could be improved is the street nearby which is a bit noisy.

Baansuwanburi is lush and tranquil escape from the busy roads of Chiang Mai. The design of the grounds and rooms will make you never want to leave. The best bit of all is Mei’s (the owner) incredible friendliness. Plus her mum makes the best pad thai in Thailand!

Everything about this place is amazing! The house we stayed in, the amazing swimming pool and hot tub, the breakfast, the service, but the best part is the mother and daughter team that run this place. This is our second time here and it was again amazing! Thank you and see you again soon!
