Excellent place to stay to travel onto Milford Sound

Nothing not to like here

Staff very pleasant and accommodatiing. we ate twice in restaurant for evening meal the staff in there very friendly and looked after us well 😃 Would also give Deepak a mention as we lost the key to a suitcase and he managed to break the lock and saved the day ..Thank you very much Deepak😃 Loved the area and Would have liked to stay another night but unfortunately they were fully booked...would recommend Kingsgate although it does need updating slightly .. I guess the price reflects the rooms

Only the behavior of the staff at the restaurant.

This is a NON - AC hotel without even a fan. The rooms are boiling throughout the day till the sun is up. There are plenty of motels and hotels on the same road with better lake views and facilities at much cheaper rates.

The rooms were spacious and comfy. It was a lovely room to relax in. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent value for money, and the wait staff were very accommodating.

I probably wasn't observant enough looking at the amenities when I made the booking. I'm not keen on shower over bath. Safety measures and instructions were in place, and even though I took every precaution, I still slipped and hurt my leg on the side of the bath.

Across the road from Lake Te Anau and the beds were very comfy

We could hear the water pipes whenever anyone had showers or flushed the toilets.

Nice large room with comfy bed. I was sort of in and out quickly so didn’t spend enough time to give a detailed review.

The room was cold but the electric heater on the wall sorted that once I sussed out how to use it which was like, hit a few buttons and wait to see if it gets warm. Too complicated heater!

Lovely spot great pub a few feet away trout fishing at our doorstep

- Good location, easy to walk to town - Free parking - Laundry facilities - It was a dated motel but clean

- Be aware there is no aircon. We stayed in January and it was extremely hot - Tiny bathroom, was difficult to stop water going everywhere from the shower

location was opposite the lake and 10 min walking distance to town. only 1.5hr drive to Milford Sound. beds were very comfortable.

very old and dated decor. restaurant was not available during our stay due to staff shortages. unfortunately during the time we were there (late Dec) there were not enough restaurants open to service all the visitors. there was a real staff shortage problem in the town.

so it was central, easy parking and services. Laundry easy to access and nice clean spacious room with a bath? 🛀 👍🏼 Perfect.

The hotel is right across from the lake and only a short walk to restaurants. The people we dealt with were very friendly and helpful.

The room could have been a little cleaner, but overall it was fine.
