３泊しました。 シェンクワンの夜は寒いので、シャワーから温かいお湯が出たことで助かりました。 　他のお客さんとのお喋りも楽しみにしていましたが、日中ジャール平原で熱中症になり体調不良になったり、別の友人との会食のため、参加できなかったことが残念です。皆さん楽しそうでしたよ。 　夜に出歩く場合、門扉が閉まってしまう事もあるので戻る時間をオーナーに伝えておいた方が良いかも知れません。

向かいの市場？が倒産して廃墟となっている関係で、女性が一人であるくには夜道が若干怖い印象があったので、少しマイナスにしましたが、皆さん素敵な笑顔で対応してくださったので好感をもちました。 　犬も歩いていますが、吠えて追いかけてきたりはしませんし、ラオスの標準的な様子だと思うので特に気になりませんでした。

Very nice and charismatic host who is keen on organizing tours and further transport. I loved the bonfire that the family lights every evening inside of an old bomb shell. Great atmosfere all around. Nice private rooms with fans, mosquito nets, bathrooms etc. Very calm place. I loved it.

Large distance to town center, which means you are dependant on tuktuks or a scooter which one may rent on place.

Tout est parfait dans cette « vraie » guesthouse On se sent immédiatement comme chez soi Un feu est allumé matin et soir, où tout le monde se retrouve autour d’une bière … très convivial Les chambres et salles de bain sont bien équipées (eau chaude, brasseur d’air, moustiquaire ….) Et on peut tout réserver sur place ( excursion pour la plaine des jarres, ticket de bus …) Et surtout …. on vient ici avant pour Mr Kong, propriétaire des lieux mais qui propose aussi la visite de La Plaine des Jarres …. il est le meilleur guide de toute la région. C’est un passionné, il vous emmène hors des sentiers battus et il rend cette journée inoubliable, avec en prime, beaucoup d’humour…. énorme coup de cœur …1000 mercis pour cet incroyable séjour

Kong was friendly with excellent English, free water refill, tea & coffee available, good wifi Lots of convenience stores - Tom & Jerry bakery for light breakfast & cakes Western breakfast - recommend Santisouk Cafe (part of a local language school) a short walk away or Cranky T's See You Again Chinese - Beef Noodles are tasty! Bombies is good for dinner - wouldn't recommend Craters Can get much cooler at night, but heat picks up in the day - layers & coat recommended Phonsavan is worthy of a good 2 days/ 3 nights, with various sites & towns to visit, plus it gives your body & mind time to recover from the journey and prep for the next one...! Scooter hire was good - delivered with full tank of fuel (which we filled on return) and POJ can be easily visited without a guide but obviously you don't get the knowledge, however visit Xieng Khouang Provincial Museum which helps explain some background & history Also recommend heading over to Muang Khoun, ancient capital of the region - many temple ruins next to new ones (approx 1hr drive, get back before dark as no street lights & mega holes in the road!) MAG centre is also worth a good hour of your time learning about UXO Tham Piew Cave (can't go in far, more a tragic place of remembrance, only need 30 mins there) it's a beautiful 1.5hr drive, stop at the ASA Hot Springs Resort on your return for a nice pit stop & reasonable price food *Journey time from Vang Vieng & Luang Prabang is currently a 9 hour, very dusty & bumpy bus journey (not 6hrs as advertised) Bus/ minvan advice - Kong can arrange tuktuk, be at the station 1hr before departure to get a seat (seat numbers ignored), cover backpacks as tarp isn't always used, expect to get dusty, take water & snacks, toilet stops will vary could be hours between depending on the driver and expect them to cram passengers in filling the aisle with a 'box seat'...

Very basic rooms, tiny bathroom, bedding consisted of 3 different sheets & blanket combo which tangled in the night Thin walls and sound travels, other guests slam doors unnecessarily Loud neighbours of the property - babies crying, dogs barking, music playing at night etc...it's Asia after all, travel with ear plugs & eye mask for thin curtains

King Kong deserves his excellent reputation. But in addition to his hospitality, wealth of information and friendly disposition, his place is clean, comfortable and well located.
