5 star in every way great food great beer

Staff are exceptional, every member of the team willing to help and were very accommodating. Food was also great and fairly priced. Good location with transport links into central Leeds.

The boiler was very loud and the bathrooms could be modernized.

Typical country pub, with excellent food. Seems to always be busy but never intimidating. The bar is run by numerous people from the younger generation, all of whom ,without exception, are friendly and welcoming and make the atmosphere in the bar amazingly warm and friendly. I find it remarkable that so many of the good younger people are working here. I tried to sample the whole menu but failed, those dishes I did try were absolutely delicious.

Clean the room of mould in bathroom and next to my bed sign clearly saying bed and breakfast but didn’t do bed and breakfast reason we haven’t done b + b since COVID then take the sign down and was chastised for asking the question ?????????

Easy access to room from car park.. Excellent WiFi.

No heating in bathroom

Quiet room, private access direct from car park. Plenty of parking. Good hot food menu lunch and dinner but no breakfast. Very pleasant staff.

Continental breakfast offer would have been better than no breakfast at all. Bedroom floor uneven and up and down. You need a car to drive for breakfast.

Date of stay 24th February to 26th February single room The photos on Booking.com of the accommodation appear to be for the double room availability, I booked single room occupancy. As soon as the hostess showed me to my room I was shocked by the room. The bottom section of the bed was marked and appeared to be dirty. The curtain rail covering was also badly marked by dampness which appears to have been caused by a leak at some point. The hostess advised the heating would be turned on which it was. I cant complain about the temperature of the room as I was warm through my stay. I did have to ask for a mug for the tea, no spoon or other serving items were provided. My room wasn’t cleaned after the first day. I don’t necessarily mind the room not being cleaned day to day but the mug I requested hadn’t been changed, neither had the towels and therefore I was grateful I had actually hung the towel instead of leaving in the shower. The room can only be described as generally grotty. It seems other reviews on Booking.com have been for the double room so I feel my judgment to book with you was impaired. The fan cover in the bathroom was covered in dust and has clearly not been cleaned for some time, same with the mattress and other areas of the room. Black mould is also present in the bathroom. The room was quiet, no noise from the pub although it did seem I could hear someone upstairs making a call or having a conversation, this wasn’t late, or during the night and therefore wasn’t an issue. The room wasn’t expensive but very disappointing.
