Very friendly staff

Certain areas of the property can use some upgrade.

The staff of this hotel is really great and friendly. The owner speaks English so it will ease the organization and exchanges. They can give precious advice on what to do around this hotel and arrange the tickets and commutations to the places. I would advise to stay at least 2/3 days or even more, as there are many things to do around that are really worth it, in addition to the Huangshan Mountain, as the Nine-dragon Waterfalls that are really stunning, or the Huangshan Jade Valley (Lovers' Valley) Scenic Area that is at the foot of this hotel. The weather is also very changing in this area so being flexible for doing the Huangshan Moutain is valuable. If we could, we would have stayed a few more days to enjoy this peaceful area and visit a few more places we couldn’t go. They also propose a Chinese or Western kind of breakfast which is appreciable, and the restaurant provides great food for lunch and dinner if you need. The rooms are great and spacious with comfortable bed and view on the nature, it’s really nice and peaceful.

The cleaning could be done a little more, especially on the corners and under the bed where a lot of dust are present. There were also some little leaks in the shower, however nothing so major. The food can sometimes be a bit too spicy or salty, so ask them first if it’s the case or order a few plates. Be aware that food is very generous; ordering 2/3 dishes for 2 persons can be enough. Having some self-service juices/coffee for the morning would be appreciable.

The room was perfect. Dinner can be ordered inhouse and was ccoked by the family. Its really refreshing to see how this villa is being run by one whole family and make you fell very welcome. THANK for the hospitality.

Very good hotel in the beautiful suroundings of Huangshan. We recommend to visit this place and stay at this hotel. We travelled by train, so the hotel owner fixed a taxi for us to pick us up at the train station. Everyday we were brought by car to the place we wanted to visit or the bus station. The hotel prepares good breakfast and for diner there is a lot of choice. The dishes are very delicious! Also, one of us is allergic for gluten and they helped us by choosing the right food. But people in China are not very familliar with this allergy, so you have to keep paying attention yourself. As two backpacking girls we feld really safe and at home at this hotel. Because the hotel is run by a family, there is a homely athmosphere. We hope that this hotel will receive more visitors from across the world in the future.

Pet friendly. The family in charge of the hotel was very kind, helpful and they speak fluent English. They arranged transportation to several touristic places in the area (Tunxi, Kangchen, Taiping Lake, Wuizhou, etc.). The breakfast was great and the location is fantastic, just a 10 minute walk to the Emerald Valley and a short distance to the hot springs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great staff. They were extremely helpful and ready to take us everywhere. We went to huangshan not knowing what to do, and they helped us a lot and we end up having a great trip.

The base area around Huangshan (yellow mountain) developed its tourist retail offerings in a rather haphazard way; mid size local hotel chains line busy two lane roads interspersed with small to large eateries; its a chaotic energy, largely positive but crowded and as my friend put it "frantic". The SongE is two villas side by side in a short string of largely private villa properties buttressed against hills near the entrance to Emerald Valley; its a good 15 min drive away from the hotbed of tourist activities and the West entrance to cable car that takes you partway up the mountain. It is quiet at night and the view from our large window seat (big enough to sit crosslegged with our backs against pillows sipping tea from a small set and table thoughtfully set there) was of bamboo covered tall hills. The owner's hospitality is warm and open. The staff have very adequate English!! You can arrange any kind of transport and the young man Xiao Jiang assisted us time and again very patiently, helping to navigate choices on how to approach climbing Yellow mountain area (several options for entrances, cable cars or not etc) and other sights we could visit. The villas themselves have some great intimate gathering spaces both outside in the garden and inside on each floor. The rooms in the villas are furnished in high-end Ikea style, white walls, warm wood and neutral grey tiles. Loved that the bedding was light and airy and there were two kinds of pillows! (one with husks). It was very quiet at night, our room was well insulated from others above us but the hallways/doors tend to carry sound since they are open and hardfloored. We had a dinner on sight the first night... ordered a local fish dish and local mix of "wild greens"-- and a super tasty fried rice! You are welcome to BYOB. Breakfast can be western (egg, toast coffee) or Chinese (congee with a variety of local pickles) both with fruit, yogurts.

I have been in China some 30 plus years, my friend over 15 years. Honestly we both felt this was the closest to the idea of having an affordable high quality boutique hotel experience in China . Host is present when needed, privacy is available when you want a quiet space apart and hospitality is straightforward and genuine!

The food was delicious. The host, Sean, spoke fantastic English and was helpful even before we arrived.

Songe is a wonderful hotel in quiet part of the mountain. The owner, Shawn, is a wonderful man, he picked us up at the bus station at the foot of the mountain and he brought us to the hotel. Since you walk inside looks like a fairytale, a classic, western, chic hotel. They have homemade food which is really tasty! They organized a minivan for my early morning departure and a take away breakfast (since it was included in the room). Great location nearby emerald Valley and just about 15min by car from the Huangshan south gate. I strongly recommend Songe hotel!!

The hotel is completely English friendly. Cleanliness is above all expectations.

I would add more breakfast options as as things to be done better. Breakfast was ok, but the hotel is really boutique premium style. So could be more different. Chinese menu is perfect.
