Luxurious decor and huge suite made the stay feel special

Exceptional hotel. We stayed in a Lagoon Room and it was very nice. Beautiful facilities, super comfortable bedding, and very clean. Buffett breakfast was truly a highlight and wonderful to have included along with free parking. A lovely location to stay, next time we will stay longer. Thank you, staff are very attentive and friendly.

It was quite nice

Only one night stay, it was raining. The hotel is classical luxury, great service, nice buffet breakfast, and fine dinner, strongly recommended.

The size of the property and the ease of getting around. Very convenient. Very neat and clean. Easy access to beach and restaurant.

Beautiful hotel & facilities. Rooms are little dated but still in very good condition. Staff were very friendly and always smiled.

All staff including restaurant staff were all very friendly and helpful. Great selection of food at the breakfast buffet. They missed our room cleaning one day but when we mentioned it they came and fixed it right away while we had dinner.

it’s a great hotel, rooms are big and the bathrooms are great

The hotel has aged significantly since our last stay here. But still has all the charm even though it isn't attached to the 'Versace' brand directly. We did have a bad experience with one person, Maria, at the reception at time of check out. We received vouchers for drinks and dining credits when we checked in. This wasn't part of the Expedia booking and seems the person who checked us in made a mistake. We did utilise these credits during our stay assuming this was on offer to all. When we presented these at check out, Maria responded saying there is no package attached to our account. She rudely said that the voucher we showed her 'is just a piece of paper' insinuating we were trying to pull something off. She also condescendingly kept asking me if I can see any of this in my Expedia booking. We argued that this 'piece of paper' was presented to us by them, and we could have dined elsewhere - especially given the limited options for vegetarians. We stayed there for a week and the amount in credits was not much at all, however it was a matter of principle. The Manager was kind enough to understand what had happened and immediately resolved this. However, Maria's behaviour did make me think whether they hand these out to everyone at check in only to later rescind, dismiss it and charge you. Insinuation can go both ways. But can't take anything away from any of the other wonderful staff we engaged with during our stay. And the hotel still retains most of it's charm.

Poor quality stay for the price paid. Few positives being the breakfast is excellent for choice and quality, however this is let down with a below quality room. Heating does not work - so end up freezing overnight because the in room conditioner only cools. This is a known issue because they place a portable heater in the room. How that makes 5 stars I would never know. Very poor. Poor quality shower. Bedding quality is poor with terrible pillows. The bed sagged. Shocking stay. Would not recommend and would not be back with a price which tops the Gold Coast market. A hotel which is being run into the ground is the way to describe it. Go somewhere else like I did. I checked out the following day and moved hotels.

We only stay here

Hotel is tired and needs a revamp. Stay was pleasant and staff were very friendly but you need a car for this particular area as everything is far. Limited amount of restaurants are available next door to hotel but they are not the best.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. Extremely comfortable beds. Magnificent pool. Free parking, great buffet breakfast. Very lovely staff and quiet location with SeaWorld just up the road.

Service was amazing but did feel lik property was looking tired needs to be revamped. Lifts were so far away from our room not great if you have mobility issues.

Beautiful and comfortable with lovely dining options

We’ve stayed at this hotel a number of times prior to the brand change but this time we were very disappointed. We found ants in our bed, biting our legs in the middle of the night. Cockroaches swarming the hotel floors. The mattress was sunken in. Change the mattress of room 220. The coffee is terrible quality. Terrible quality towels. The floor towels are shocking and caused us almost to slip on the marble floors. The towels are cheap quality and very thin which don’t help to dry your skin. We voiced our concerns regarding the insect pests to the reception but the asian reception lady said she will pass the feedback to housekeeping. How does that make up for us having an unpleasant stay? So rude and dismissive.

Old and dirty needs upgrading

We enjoyed the rooms how clean it was, staff was very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The taste and how many different food was provided was unexpected. It is well done. Thank you.

Needs an upgrade. Good location

Gorgeous hotel, beautifully fitted out in art deco style. Only downside was there was no view to the mariner from our particular room which I was expecting from the photos when booking. Other than that, it was really luxurious throughout, and a very comfortable stay.

Staff were friendly and polite at all times. Happy to answer any questions. Room felt spacious, comfortable and quiet.

Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a nice touch to find the concierge had already placed my bag in my room. Great to top off my busy day with a very relaxed great meal in the restaurant.
