A great place! Quite but still in the centre

Nice hotel, friendly staff but my room smelled of cigarettes. when i called duty manager they did promptly send someone to spray the room but it still smelled

Ruijin hotel is one of the classic historical hotel in Shanghai located in one of the most prestigious addresses, the formal French concession. Despite the convenient location, it’s surrounded by green space in a park like environment, truly an oasis in the middle of large busy city.
The staff is extremely polite, professional, and attentive.
The rooms are classic, spacious, and large.
The only slight disappointment the hotel restaurant, Xin yuan Lou. The restaurant is beautiful, with excellent service, but the food is below the quality of typical Shanghai restaurants.

Really great hotel with a rich history in a convenient location. Appreciated the free shuttle inside the hotel complex during the summer heat. The room was spacious and well maintained. Gorgeous architecture and beautiful gardens. Glad we stayed here instead of one of those hotels in a skyscraper. Breakfast could be better.

The room had a strong musty smell and there was a leak under the sink. After a few days of staying, I developed a rash and cough. But the hotel management's subsequent excuse was: "The humidity in Shanghai is high and the weather is hot, which is normal for this time of year." They completely shirked their responsibility for routine maintenance. Although the restaurant staff and front desk staff were very nice, it was not enough to offset the discomfort during and after the stay.

We got an upgrade to the executive wing, what a treat, thank you so much! The location is stunning, and the garden around the hotel gives a very peacefull feeling in the middle of the busy city.

The hotel is amazing. Not only in good location, but also there’s a quite big and very beautiful garden park. Walking around park , you will see several unique old buildings. All staffs are very helpful . One bedroom suite is spacious and clean. Club privileges are really beyond my expectations: there are lots of varieties of afternoon tea selection and happy hours food buffet selection . One time complimentary use Mini Bar for each stay . Anyway , I am impressed on the hotel and my family had very wonderful time during staying in the hotel . Very appreciated.

Amazing hotel, helpful staffs, spacious room, convenient location , beautiful garden park . Really happy hotel let us late check out for 2 hours . We had very wonderful time for 3-night-staying, definitely will recommend this hotel to my friends.

The service is so good, the staff were so helpful - my phone number is a foreign number that I wasn’t able to receive calls from local numbers, and the staff helped me out in contacting the delivery drivers and taxi drivers

Hidden gem in great neighbourhood. The rooms may be up for renovation soon, but they are still comfortable enough. Great place overall and a place of historical significance.

Quite a disappointing and bizarre experience for IC global standards. Hotel was a surprise given it’s size and beautiful gardens are right in the middle of Shanghai but service and cleanliness were poor. Felt like the place was being run by a lazy General Manager who had let things go.

Breakfast is mediocre. The room size and the extra bathroom is really great. House keeping could have been a little better. Bed and bedsheets are really comfortable. Certain parts of the room n hotel is a bit worn out but overall happy with the room and would recommend this hotel. The property is beautiful.

The service was exceptional and the breakfast was very good. The pool and spa area could use a makeover. We loved the location, close to awesome restaurants and lovely Fuxing park.

Love the grounds - an oasis in a busy city. Our room was in the Art Deco building- a nice reminder to times past. The room was spacious, beds were comfortable, location perfect for exploring the former French Concession, staff were professional and efficient. The setting in their own park-like area was very appreciated. It was fun to watch the modeling photo shoots and weddings, too.

We have appreciated a lot our stay in InterContintental Ruijin.
The place is very nice, in a big parc in the middle of the French concession. The room was large and clean, in a nice Art Deco building.
We had an upgrade when we arrived.
The breakfast was also excellent.
We definitely recommend this place.

Had a lovely stay, the gardens are beautiful and I would highly recommend this hotel to those who want to stay in the French Concession.The only negative is that if you want to use the pool you are required to purchase a bathing cap from them which, although common in public pools in China, is unusual in an international hotel. If they insist on keeping this rule it would be nice if you could borrow a cap.

Location is very strange. It is very dark. Difficult to find....but other than this, everything is fine.

Generally, it was a very good stay. Spacious, well managed and well equipped. Even the price is quite reasonable comparing to other hotels nearby. But the reason I can't say it is "excellent" is that because it feels like the hotel may need a kind of renovation. I was able to imagine how luxurious it might be during the late 1990s and early 2000s. It is a European style hotel with character and charm but doesn't have appealing elements for the people of nowadays. A bit dull at this moment to be honest.

It is located in the old French quarter lovely streets to amble along nearby. Beautiful buildings and Art Deco details. The hotel itself is welcoming with beautiful gardens. Ample rooms and Very quiet.
