This is a beautiful, spotless house on a truly quiet street. The owners/hosts are taking great care of the house and all their guests individually. Their talents come through in abundance, including great communication and professional consistency. The home and the yard are extraordinary tastefully decorated, while remaining practical. A special treat here is a carefully prepared tasty breakfast you would expect only in some high-end restaurants. The owner is a talented humble chef. We highly recommend this property. What a wonderful experience we’ve had!

We’re fairly jaded travelers and it takes something special to impress us. Well, we were pleasantly surprised by the warm and inviting hosts at Barclay Cottage and the genuinely relaxing atmosphere. Sharon and Rich have added the small details that make a B&B stay unique and that set it apart from an impersonal hotel. Tastefully decorated rooms, a comfortable bed, clean linens, thoughtful amenities, and little touches that clearly show the experience of the proprietors. Breakfast was a real treat and something you should not miss! This was an off-season trip, unfortunately, so the beach was quiet and we could only spend a short time on the balcony. We would definitely like to return in the spring to see the gardens in bloom and enjoy the ocean breeze. Highly recommended for a romantic getaway or relaxing stay near the beach during whale watching season. Although I’m sure the area is loud and bustling in the summer, Barclay Cottage is an oasis that you look forward to returning to and hate to leave. Needless to say, this was a fantastic B&B experience thanks in no small part to the care and kindness of our hosts. Rich and Sharon really make you feel welcomed and like family, genuine and lovely people who are also excellent innkeepers. Highly, highly recommended!

Rich and Sharon are welcoming and attentive. Their home is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Rich is a wonderful cook who thoughtfully packed me a to-go bag when I had to miss his breakfast service. Highly recommend!

The B and B was absolutely gorgeous. The inside was beautifully decorated. The outside had 2 porches with seating. Bedroom was nice and bed comfortable. Even supplied robes. Hosts were hospitable and friendly. Breakfast was scrumptious and beautifully displayed. They had all the anemities. An inviting and relaxing getaway! Highly recommend!

The hosts were lovely. The house is beautiful. Owners think of everything. Great breakfast provided! Parking a little bit of a challenge, especially if you have a bigger vehicle. Had to share a bathroom, but wasn’t really an issue. We had some drinks taken from the shared fridge, I’m sure by mistake, but I would suggests you label your food and drinks.

I can’t say enough good things about Barkley’s Cottage. Rich and Sharon were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and accommodating. The cottage was well furnished with attention to detail. The comfortable porches were an added bonus. The breakfast’s were 5 star! We plan to return the next time we visit the Beach!

This cottage hotel was truly the bomb dot com, and its a 5 min walk to the beach. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE.SUPER DUPER COZY. U WILL LOVE IT AND THE PARKING IS FREE. Parking down at VA is VERY EXPENSIVE

They also offered bikes which we used along the board walk and optional beach umbrellas and chairs They were very friendly and available when needed but also gave us our privacy. This b&b is adorable, it looks like it belongs somewhere in a storybook seaside town. The bed was clean and comfortable, the owners served amazing, 4-star breakfast daily, and were supremely helpful and friendly during our stay. My best friend and I were utterly charmed by their hospitality and the friendliness of their kitty, Fiona. I cannot recommend them enough!

Super nice people and great access to the beach boardwalk! They let us use some of their bikes to get around and that ended up being one of our favorite things to do!
