Studio was prefect size, plenty of room. Walkable to everything in Paihia. Really happy with our stay!

Would only recommend to people under 25 / hardly got any sleep as walls are paper thin - might as well of been a curtain, noisy people in other rooms till 1.30am Facilities were not maintained very well & had to wait at least an hour or so each night to cook or get a table - tip do that at 5pm. Stayed at a number of lodges & caravan parks while in NZ, none were like this one. Lucky it was our first stay on our trip & would rate it as our worst experience in over a months travelling.

The best service from a human I have experienced at a hostel. She was great. Only had 2 toilets and showers, which is not enough (one toilet was out of service.) room was only 5 beds which is very nice. Great location.

Quiet, comfortable location walking distance from the center of Paihia.

Our room was pretty dated and small but had everything you needed. Lovely fluffy towels and soap supplied. No toilet paper in the communal bathroom. Kitchen area is really spacious and well stocked. Lots of fridge space and well set out.

It was good for a short stay. It is close to everything.

Veey handy to everything in central piahia. Had studio unit 3 singles perfect for what we needed. And reasonably priced.

For the number of people staying there, it needed more toilets. The staff were great. Liked the spar pool.

Thought there may have been housekeeping at least once during our stay, but for 52.50 per night can't complain. Friendly staff including flooffy doggy, enjoyed the hammocks (not to mention having to get helped and heaved out of it) Just found that with 2 people it got a bit cramped in the private room after four nights, but if you're travelling alone, or there for a shorter stay would recommend.

Friendly staff, eager to help if needs arose. Rooms are warm and clean. A fridge and TV in our room. Big kitchen area. Washing machine and dryer. Undercover washing line. Everything you need at this lodge really.

We were able to take our little dog and everyone was so friendly!

Run-down spot in a great location. Common areas were not clean. Hot tub full of sand. Not enough toilets for the number of beds. Room was comfortable in a prison cell way.

Centabay lodge was quiet, clean, and centrally located. We stayed in a private room and found it spacious. We rented kayaks from the lodge for a few dollars which was great!

Great value for money, room had all that was required for a comfortable stay. Modern bathroom, excellent large shower. Helpful owner and very central location, everything within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay again.

I only stayed here one night, so it was good enough for what I needed. The bathroom sink were dirty. The place looks run down, but if all you need is s place to sleep then it's ok. The kitchen is fully equipped, but is disorganised..

Excellent location in the center of Paihia, very easy to anywhere. A very nice property in itself, definite beach vibe. Kitchen was ok, modern and convenient. The rooms are very small, bed is just a 6 inch foam mattress with old sheets and duvet that were worn and obviously cleaned in house, smelly. The bathrooms are all outside, were always cold, and not-so-clean during my stay. The hostel is maintained by people that stay there for free accommodation, service was non-existent. I would stay again because of the excellent location, and compared to other places in Paihia the price is good, but the value you receive for the money, it's a toss up. Absolutely no frills stay.

Location great! Check in and out easy. I stayed in a shared dorm style room. It was clean and bedding was fine. The only thing that took away from the experience was the extremely slow draining shower. Basically standing in dirty water and since it drained so slow, means there's dirt left from the previous bather.

Small room with separate outdoor shower and toilet. Great location. No frills but OK.
