Tim, the cruise director was amazing. He was there to meet us from our transport provider. Made sure we knew what was happening. He made sure the whole trip went seamlessly. Staff very pleasant. The was food delicious and plenty of it. Would highly recommend. Eileen and Phil

Dislike: The ground of the shower room is slippery. Water was not included in dinner.

Highly recommend this company. The staff and food exceptional. Attention to details in all areas. The excursions are carefully selected and they were all amazing. The rooms are beautiful and it was enjoyable to relax on the balcony. I recommend the 2-nights/3-days if you can. We truly got to enjoy Halong Bay to the fullest.

Really excellent stay with Athena Cruise. staff were so friendly and attentive. The boat was clean, modern and beautiful. Top quality food with buffet style as well as table service depending on the day in the schedule. My partner doesn’t eat fish and they happily substituted any seafood dishes with meat alternatives for her. Only dampener was the weather, but of course nothing could be done about this, and it didn’t take away from how gorgeous and relaxing the trip was.
Our tour Manager - Tim was excellent too - fluent English, and the tours were fab - Athena look to take you to the Caves as the first visitors of the day (so up early) so you miss the masses of people, so it’s totally worth it.
Excellent boat and activities - would do again in the summer time.

Stay at Athens Royal Cruise was fantastic!
Captain manager Tim and his team were very accommodating, helpful, friendly and professional. Itinerary was well organised and well thought. Food was good. It’s more like modern Vietnamese. Tim and Phillipe were very attentive to my mum’s food request. Generous portion - 6 courses!
We were well looked after until the end. Scenery from the room / balcony was just breathtaking although the weather wasn’t the best. I highly recommend you stay for 2 nights, it definitely worths it if you have extra time. Specially thanks to Diem, who made my mum’s stay more joyful with her smile.

We had a memorable experience with Athena cruise. The family suite was very good. Mr. Ha , Mr. Chin and the entire staff was caring and friendly. We were pampered and spoilt with lots and lots of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. We had good kayaking,
Tai Chi and cooking experience. Bai Tu Long Bay was very beautiful with abundance of natural beauty. I am so happy that I chose Athena over other cruises.

Beautiful scenery and pleasant cruise
Route of this cruise is following comparatively quiet area, and I preferred this a lot including beautifully lit up cave rather than other famous one's in Ha long bay.
Cabin is nice and clean, crew's hospitality is warm and welcoming, and food is delicious.
I definitely recommend this cruise.

It is marked as a 5 star hotel, but actually under 3 star level on facility and services. Meal is included but No any drinks was provided, even water need to be paid. It is a overpriced hotel and the facilities is way out of Date.

So glad we chose this company for our Halong Bay cruise. The service couldn’t have been better from start to finish. All of the staff go out of their way to make sure everything runs smoothly. Loved the boat. The cabin was very comfortable & loved sitting on the balcony enjoying the scenery. The food was top class. Excellent value for what we paid. Would definitely recommend this cruise & company.

They cruise from a lesser known and still not over developed bay which means you get to enjoy the natural splendor of the karst mountain formations without loads and loads of crowds. The team was absolutely incredible: warm, friendly, flexible, and so accommodating to my various requests. The room was modern and comfortable. The food was alway exclusively presented, like art! Definitely book the 2 nights 3 days because you will not want to leave!

I loved the cruise. It was one of the best tours I have ever been on. It was quiet and relaxing but also informative. The boat manager was friendly and knew a lot about the area and the history of Halong Bay.

The shuttle bus driver from Hanoi drove very slowly(maximum was 70km, normally 40~50km even with empty road) and did not know the way to Halong Bay <-> Hanoi which caused delay in arrival(took 4.5hrs drive without pit-stop). Upon arrival, we were taken to another cruise without any information on the changes. The itinerary was NOT the same at all. Only after clarification and complaints on why the cruise was changed, they explained that Athena was broke down in the morning that day and mentioned that we were "upgraded". Did not think it was an upgrade as the room was much more smaller than which was supposed to be provided in Athena cruise.
