I love that this a vegan resort. It’s in a central location. Only complaint is they can use better quality bed linens, sheets had stains from being old.

I had some pretty high expectations for this Michelin rated hotel. Upon arrival, it was a red flag when they gave my partner and I only one room key. The room was hotter than it was outside, especially due to the fact that the room key needed to stay in for power. Everything in our room was hot to the touch including the bed and the complimentary waters! It was really upsetting and uncomfortable until we requested an extra room key. Our room took about 3 days/2 nights to cool down. Unfortunately, there wasn’t an air purifier because we could smell the smokey air through the vents. The floor had some odd ridges and there were some dusty areas of the hotel room. We included breakfast in our stay and set the lowest expectations after reading many reviews. The staff in the buffet were annoying about our room number and seating us in an empty restaurant. Some parties were able to pick their seats, but we were always forced to sit in the same spot every morning. The food was okay the first day then it progressively got worse. I’m not sure why they focus on primarily British and Chinese tourists, but they served lots of baked beans and corn soup that hardly anyone touched. The soy meats like hot dogs were disgusting. The orange juice did not taste like normal OJ neither did the pineapple juice, it was not fresh at all more so syrup tasting. The pastries were horrible as well. Overall, not sure if I would go out of my way to stay here again. The area was barely walkable.

This was such a cute hotel! Great for vegetarian and vegans. They do have plant based protein options, but I’d recommend bringing your own protein if you’re an omnivore who workouts. I love how walkable it is. Just 15 minutes to the night bazaar. There are multiple great massage parlors within 5 minutes walk. There is also a 7-11 and an AMAZING Indian restaurant 5 minutes away. Very safe and quiet. The staff went above and beyond! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for good vegetarian options!

The food was delicious! Breakfast was buffet style with so many options, and everything was fresh. There were so many different kinds of fruits, juices, Thai food, home-made yogurt and jellies, breads, etc.

Fabulous hotel in a great area close to everything. Pool is wonderful and very welcome on a hot afternoon. It was my birthday while I was here and they brought me a cake at the pool and sang happy birthday. Cannot rate staff and hotel highly enough.

Great staff super nice. The pool was cool and felt great after a day in the heat. Also great to wake up and take a dip.

Very friendly service, spacious, clean room with a lovely balcony, a great vegan restaurant on the grounds. What else can you wish for? The breakfast buffet is outstanding with warm dishes, soup, salad, fruit, and regular continental breakfast items like bread, croissants, jams and more. Very friendly service in the restaurant as well!

We loved the welcoming cup of tea upon arrival. The staff were friendly and attentive. They were helpful in making arrangements for pick up and drop off at the airport.

This is a smaller hotel, which I loved. First impressions were the property was very clean and simplistic. The room was spacious with a great balcony over looking the pool with 2 chairs. The restaurant was fantastic and I am not vegan or vegetarian -- it takes a lot of creativity and care to make great vegan cuisine. I tried new things and it made the visit more enjoyable. I tried the espresso and orange juice drink and was blown away how good that was -- trying new things is a very good thing. The pool was small but very relaxed and quiet - wish I could have gotten a room with pool access. Staff were lovely, which is the norm for Thailand -- the best country to travel to and feel welcomed.

I LOVED staying here. It’s kept in very nice condition, the staff is excellent and the food was great! Perfect location too.

Loved staying here with my yoga retreat group. The staff were very kind/accommodating, and the location could not have been better. Although it was a few steps away from Thapae gate, it was on a quiet and safe street. Lots of great restaurants, temples nearby and the night market is only about a 15 minute walk. The food was okay and pool looked very clean at all times. I especially loved sunrise and sunsets on the balcony of hotel as well as the attention to detail from the staff. Will definitely be back!!

Highly Recommend this resort in the middle of Chiang Mai. The staff was amazing. Customer service was above and beyond. The breakfast was also very delicious. The only negative was that I thought the shower could have been a little cleaner in between the tiles where the grout is. Otherwise a wonderful stay at a beautiful property, and would recommend to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

Away Chiang Mai was such a lovely hotel with such a sweet staff that truly made my stay amazing. I stayed here with my sister on our last night in Thailand. We chose the swim up pool room option which was so refreshing to wake up to. I arrived early and was so thankful they were able to accommodate my early check in. The breakfast was delicious with many options, enjoy the local fruit! Dream, the wonderful hotel concierge, made my stay over the top. She was so very sweet and let us know about the free yoga class the resort offered. Overall I would definitely recommend this resort for anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

Currently the hotel only serves breakfast & lunch which should have been highlighted upon check-in. This is a bad experience when I wanted to dine-in for dinner and found the cafe is closed.

Great Hotel at perfect location in central Chiang Mai

The air conditioner was so loud. The light bolt was flashing. The floor wasn’t clean. Hear the noise all night from outside

I first stayed at Away Chiang Mai the week they opened, tried two room types, and have been a fan of the resort ever since. Kat and her staff are top notch professionals, always friendly, helpful, and extremely accommodating with odd requests. As a repeat guest I was offered a Thai massage at their spa, which was lovely, and the restaurant is one of the best in the city for plant-based food. Get the included breakfast. Some days, you can even make your own fresh pressed juices. It’s worth it! Bathrooms are stocked with eco friendly soap and lotion dispensers. I tried to convey the water could be hotter, but the mermaid-sized tub makes up for it. Please note: Due to reduced tourism post lockdown, Moreganic is only open for breakfast (guests only) and lunch. Dinners are ordered as room service provided by Goodsouls. I didn’t order in, but a friend did, and she said that went fine. Plenty of other dinner options nearby, including Vegan Heaven and May Kaidee. Also recommended is Blue Orchid for a 1 hr facial massage with (5-6) masks applied. Several good silver shops and tailors mixed in with expat bars on the same street as Vegan Heaven. The pool was nicely heated and felt refreshing even in the heat. Umbrellas are provided for the rainy season. Away has everything you need for a fabulous stay in CM!

The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The amenities were disappointing. Towels and robes had holes in them. The king bed was two mattresses put together. Uncomfortable. The room didn’t feel clean. A bit disappointing given it’s one of the more expensive place in that area.
