Shower was definitely not cleaned. Dirty footprints were visible. I have a photo of anyone needs it. This sight will not let me uploaded it for some reason. Beyond that it was just ok. For $269 on a Thursday I will not be going back or recommending the property.

Enough room for all of us with 2 beds and a fold out couch. Didn’t realize it came with a kitchen so next time we can plan accordingly and stay longer.

Hampton Inn west is a well-appointed modern hotel located in a convenient spot of Santa Cruz. The hotel is well-kept, though we had issues getting our room cleaned. In total, we were there 4 days and never had the room checked. The hotel was about the cheapest option around, though the prices go up exponentially on weekends and with less than a 3 night stay. Our 4 days/3 nights was less than my sister's 2 night stay.

A/C is noisy. The fan in the bathroom was broken. Noise coming from the aisle is too loud. Body lotion dispenser was so dirty.

The hotel was fine. Not close enough to the boardwalk, to walk. Breakfast was typical buffet style scrambled eggs, a meat choice, toas, do it yourself waffles… Staff was friendly, parking, easy.

Not the type of place I would normally stay at but admittedly it was clean, comfortable and cost effective..I was impressed with the 24/7 coffee, breakfast and gym. Property was very comfortable if you need a place to stay, though not my style (I prefer more luxury or character). One slight negative: The staff were not rude nor friendly. They were just "there".

I have had the opportunity to stay at the Hampton Inn in several cities through California, Texas, and Arizona. The reason I search fornthe Hampton above other hotels is the breakfast is usually really good with many options for hot food. While there were some hot food items available, the breakfast was low quality and skimpy. It might just be this particular location so I will not stay at the Santa Cruz Hampton again. Everything else was pretty good.

Great location on the Westside. Walking distance to the beach, bike trails, breweries, grocery store and restaurants! 👍 Another plus is that it’s away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy area of the boardwalk.
The free breakfast is great too!

I have stayed at this hotel a few times. Two major detractors are I am always placed in a room on the Mission street side. It is a busy street and can be noisy both in the morning and evening due to heavy traffic. Second, I noticed that the clerk was noticeably more friendly to the group ahead of me and even offered bottle water but never offered one to me. While this may seem trivial it shows a lack of customer service. The other times I have stayed there I was also offered water.

Hotel was super clean and conviently located. Check-in was easy and very friendly pet policy, even gave us a sheet with things to do with your pets around the area.

A male receptionist checked-in me in. Did not seemed to be in good mood and did not even bothered to ask me questions (I had to initiate the conversation) or acknowledged us. Then consecutive days (at around 8-9am), a security personnel knocks on the door (every door) without saying a word or explaining why despite of us having signage that says we’re asleep. Way to go for customer service. Otherwise, place is clean and convenient.

The bed had a weird smell it kind of smelled like cat urine. Bed definitely needs to be replaced but everything else was fine.

Everything was in excellent clean condition, no hidden pet fees. The only thing that kept me from rating this 5 stars was the parking is very tight especially with larger SUV's and the area to walk the dogs is a tiny barked area.

We had a handicap room. We unintentionally booked this room. We checked with front desk about switching. Unfortunately there we no rooms with king bed and bath tub available. This was fine. The issue we want to bring to your attention is when the shower is used the drain isn't set up correctly or the shower curtain needs to be longer as we had to mop up water from the floor each time we used it.
